This place is the exact opposite of that corporate owned, huge, tasteless, processed, soulless sandwich place. The food is delicious and unique. The salads and fruit are fresh and prepared with a special flare. The owner is friendly, warm and always pleasant. This restaurant is her dream come to fruition and it’s evident in every bite.

Had a great experience this afternoon. Just finished on a great walk in Balboa Park and decided we didn’t want to ruin that long walk with something super heavy and caloric. The owner greeted us warmly and we chose the Acai Bowl. It was delicious! Would definitely come back for a delicious treat right around the corner.

I like Mango, Fruit bar. I ordered a glass of cucumber and pineapple juice. It was fresh and very thirst quenching. The ambiance speaks to the freshness of ingredients. Neat little corner shop.

Such a cute place! The owner wanted to see my Frenchie and invited us inside as we were walking by. Nice, pet friendly place. Delicious drinks.

I wanted to love this place and was so disappointed by my experience here. I have been waiting for a so long for it to open and I was hoping that it would be great as there is not much around that’s a quick walk from my place on Cortez Hill. First of all the hours posted say on Fridays they are open until 6pm. I walked down at and arrived at around 5:30 to find the door locked even though all the lights were on and the open sign was facing out. Someone came over to the door once they heard me try to open it and said they were closing but that they’d open for me. Which was nice in theory but really they should have still been open. I ordered a turkey sandwich and small fruit salad and it was one of the worst meals I have in a long time. If you’re going to call your restaurant a fruit bar you’d think you’d be serving really good fruit. The banana was browning and the cantaloupe was not yet ripe and difficult to even chew. The only other fruit was a granny smith apple and some strawberries which were okay but I’ve gotten better fruit salad from the deli counter at Ralph’s. The sandwich was so bad I really didn’t want to finish it. It was really small and the bread looked like low quality sliced wheat from a bag you’d get at the grocery store. My biggest problem was the meat. The turkey seemed like it was prepackaged deli meat from the grocery store. It was extremely salty and had the chewy texture of the crap my grandma bought when I was a little girl. Overall I was just surprised a restaurant would serve food this low of quality when I could have thrown something better together at home for half the price. I was hoping this place would be comparable to LIV in Hillcrest and it fell very far short. I don’t think it’ll be around for very long but I hope they can make adjustments because I’d love to have a healthy place close by.

I like this place. If you live in Cortez Hill it’s just a quick walk over. I think the combo for a sandwich, salad and smoothie for $ 9.75 was reasonable. I talked with the owner for a little bit and they are looking to add more menu items, music and drinks at night. I am really rooting for this place. Cortez Hill needs a good place nearby other than phở.

This is a little juice place tucked away in Cortez Hill. The owner is a young woman who is passionate about using the best juices and the prices are great. I stopped in looking like a hobo as one does on hot weekends and I was treated very nicely, she even made me a sample strawberries and cream dessert! The place just opened and they are trying to make it a restful haven for you to get tasty juice at a good price. I love there mango mixed with Mexican candy flavor. It is so tart, sweet, and salty! I hope this place does well because the area could use a nice spot to enjoy something healthy. I find it weird that some bad reviews were posted even before the place was opened… Anyway, I drank a whole huge cup of beet juice and didn’t die so there is that!

Man I love the sandwiches here! They use quality ingredients and even a panini maker to toast them! Definitely has a home made quality to it as well! So yummy!

Super overpriced. I paid $ 6 for a tiny cup of kale apple juice. I can get a larger size for $ 4 at Liv juice with much better service and quality. The girls added ice to the juice without even asking me. Then they took out the ice and handed me a cup only ¾ filled with juice. What a waste of my money. These people are not skilled or equipped to be running this business. Also expect to pay close to $ 10 for a fruit plate. No it’s not organic or even labeled as such. No one was in the shop so it is clear why! Don’t waste your money. Go to Liv Juice a few minutes away in Hillcrest and get your money’s worth from people who actually know how to run a good juice place. Also if you like just fruit there is Señor Mangos in North Park. Again they don’t jack their prices up like these folks do.

Great new little spot! There aren’t a lot of options in this vicinity for lunch, let alone a healthy one! I’ve been waiting for mangos to open for MONTHS, and finally got to go for the first time today. The fruit salad was great! Lots of fruit, cottage cheese, shaved coconut, granola, and honey. Looking forward to trying their smoothies and the«pico de gallo».

This is a new, small business serving fresh juices, smoothies and sandwiches in the underserved Cortez Hill neighborhood. On the afternoon I went in, the owner was working only with the help of her mother. There’s something great about family businesses — they care about making their customers satisfied and their enthusiasm for their product really shows through. I ordered a chamango. It’s a smoothie with fresh, pulpy mango juice with chamoy. According to wiki, «chamoy» is a sauce with a flavor that is salty, sweet, sour, and spiced with everything nice chiles. Grab one, find a good lounge chair next to the pool, relax and enjoy. It’s that good. I haven’t tried lunch yet, but I’m confident the same attention to detail and flavor will result in a good sammie.

I had been anxiously awaiting the opening of this juice bar. After months of construction it is finally open. I really am rooting for them; when I went in for a cool drink on a hot day, it seemed like family and friends were working there together. There are still ladders and construction supplies out, but the shop is spacious and has tons of light. There were a handful of fruit smoothies to choose from, one flavor each, as well as some cottage cheese fruit bowls, juices, and sandwiches. I wish I could say I enjoyed my strawberry smoothie more. For $ 6.00, I would have liked more flavor, more creamy(less icy), or just bigger. Or all three. There was nothing posted about the ingredients – nor were we told what was in them – and there was no mention of protein, vitamin or supplement add-ins that would explain the high price. As I said, I’m pulling for this place because the area could use a quick, fresh lunch/breakfast spot, but I do think they need to really sell the health benefits of what they’re serving or consider lowering their prices if they want to be successful.

I’d been craving a smoothie all day and had just remembered that this place just opened. I went in to check it out and decided on a strawberry/pineapple smoothie. They use a Greek yogurt as the base and I thought it was very refreshing. It’s also only 2 blocks from my house. The girl at the register explained that they haven’t had their grand opening yet, so the full menu isn’t up yet, but I think it looks promising. The salads sound like they’ll be really good too.

A long ways to go… as much as I wanted to like this place, I just couldn’t get myself on board. I’ve driven past this place several times the last few months and noticed the coming soon signs, so when it opened I had to try it. About a week after it opened(August 2015), I stopped by for a drink in the afternoon. Immediately upon walking in I was struck with how small and«amateur» of a restaurant it was, definitely mom and pop caliber. That’s not bad by any means, but I definitely wanted it’s food to stand out. Unfortunately it just didn’t. It’s a fruit bar, so there’s fruit salad, smoothies, and a sandwich on the menu. That’s literally it for selection, slim pickings! I ended up getting a mango smoothie, since none of the other options seemed enticing. You can’t mix flavors or add anything either. After a short wait, my smoothie came out and it was as basic as you can get. One flavor(mango) smoothie in a cup… which you could easily make in your kitchen. It was also a whopping $ 6!!! I can’t say I was happy with my selection and it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever go back… but I’m rooting for this place, since it’s a mom and pop establishment. Just be prepared to be underwhelmed if you come here!
