Absolutely love this place. Value for money, Bang for the buck! okay, so this is a small Italian place which is perfect for some authentic Italian food which doesn’t cost a fortune. Their menu has pastas, sandwichs’s, ravioli, salads, chips. I love their spinach cheese pasta which is served with a nice piece of bread and small serving of salad. They even have quite a big factory just backside which i believe they prepare pastas and everything. so their food is quite fresh as well. The quantity of ravioli and pasta is just perfect which fills you up pretty much till evening. The only downside i feel is they are open only till 3 pm, Now i know its crazy to think it as a downside because their main business is from people who work in offices within an industrial vicinity so obviously people drop in only for lunch. But i would suggest to open beyond 3 pm and have a menu which will serve some snacks in the evening and i am sure people will take food for to go. Its just a suggestion! So overall this place is kinda packed from 11 am to 1 pm with people queued up for some delicious lunch. Its totally a worthy place to eat brunch and i recommend you guys to check it out. There isnt a very generous parking in front of this place but i am sure you can park your cars somewhere.

4.5 stars I wish they open 1 day of the weekend. Their lunch deals are great offers!!! A full ravioli is about 7 – 8 pieces with a side salad and garlic bread. $ 1 off upon Unilocal check in too! I ordered meat sauce with mushroom, but I think they made the mistake of giving me marinara instead. No problem, I don’t really like to waste food, but next time it’s meat sauce! The garlic bread was delicious, it’s freshly made! The ravioli’s were good, it’s not your fancy mushroom that gives this succulent flavor liken truffles, but they were good. The pasta is just fresh and has a good even thickness and cooked al dente. The marinara is just straight up forward: tomato sauce. I saw who I believe happens to be the owner of the shop, he was sitting on his walker with the customers and chatting with them, so cool. Also picked up frozen beef ravioli($ 4.95/lb) and fettuccine($ 3.95/lb). The raviolis were good, and the fettuccine is not strong semolina but still delicious. I will return definitely for their raviolis!!!

What a great little place. The raviolis are fresh and delicious and super affordable. For 6 bucks you get a plate of pasta that would be 14 – 18 bucks elsewhere. Their meatball sub is fantastic with great bread and a hearty taste. I am super lucky to have this place right near work…

Got some ravioli to go the other day. Got a full portion of beef ravioli with meat sauce and a full portion of chicken ravioli with pesto sauce. A full portion is around $ 7. Each full portion comes with a small side salad and two pieces of garlic bread(they used pesto on it). I enjoyed the ravioli, but it wasn’t anything mind blowing either. The fillings could be a bit more flavorful and I thought the meat sauce was a bit watered down. I did enjoy the al dente feel of the pasta. I noticed that that beef ravioli were bigger than the chicken one, but the amount of ravioli in the chicken with the pesto was more so it sort of evens out. The garlic bread pesto was really delicious, but I wished the bread was toasted more. It looked like they just smeared the pesto/garlic spread on without any toasting. Overall, an okay meal, but nothing to go out of the way for.

Let me start by saying … as contradicting as this is … I hate buying pasta dishes anywhere because A, I feel like I make pretty damn good pasta at home if I say so myself… & B, it’s expensive as far as actual ingredients go. But I must say that I tend to order pasta at lots of places. I know, … total contradiction but what can I say I love Italian food hahaha anyway, when I found mama linas I was thrilled. Home made, delicious and inexpensive pasta. I love it and have found this being the only place I will order pasta from. Today, I tried the meatball sub and it was fabulous. I was offered the choice of spicy or not, I of course chose spicy, and it was perfect ! I added extra extra red pepper … but I’m a super hot fanatic … but for people who want a perfect mellow kick … this is it! Yum ! The sub is packed with large perfectly cooked meatballs. Very juicy and well made. There wasnt one bite of my sub that wasnt filled with meat. The sauce it comes with is delicious! Full of flavor and overally YUMMY. I with there was a but more cheese. Only bummer though, was that my Greek salad came with no dressing. Maybe you’re supposed to get your own, need to ask for it, or something. But I wasn’t aware of any of this so I’m presuming they forgot it. Sucked because I had no dressing at my office. Oh well, mama Lina I still love you.

MAMALI-NA! SO much better having it there and prepared fresh than from a Peach delivered lunch! Nonetheless, despite their food being cold, the Peach lunch was delicious(Pesto Ravioli), so I had to check the place out. Being less than 5 minutes away from my work, I was able to easily pop into here for lunch. It is located in a industrial park so their main form of business occurs during the lunch hour. It looks like this is also their factory where they churn out fresh pasta made with wholesome ingredients. You’ll have your food prepared fresh as well, so expect a little wait before you get yours. Most people take their meals to go but they have a lovely outdoor area with seating as well. I stick with their Ravioli as it’s their most delicious item, but their sandwiches are just as delectable. Portions are very generous and you’ll be getting a lot for very little. I recommend getting half servings of their Ravioli then the same for a sandwich. I felt like this option wasn’t explicitly listed anywhere, so just know that you can do it! The sandwich is ~$ 5 instead of $ 7 and they use a smaller bread, but it’s just as big as the regularly sized. You’ll definitely be well satisfied having had a little bit of everything. I had leftovers of the sandwich and I took it home to eat it later. Definitely a great little eatery! Try to pop into here if you can.

For a quick, no frills lunch, the food is decent but the friendliness and customer interaction from the manager/cashier is less than warm. I used to frequent the place often and really liked the older Italian guy that started the place a long time ago but since they changed owners the way the cashier/manager treats the customers is not great. I rarely visit any longer on account of it. The cashier/manager, generally ignores you until she’s ready and when she is ready, is not very friendly… makes you feel unwelcome. They make frozen pasta for sale to retail stores and serve it at their outlet deli along with sandwiches.

Ravioli was delicious but a bit cold! They totally need to heat it up more. Secondly, the ratio of pasta to tomato meat sauce is out of balance; they need more pasta pieces because it felt more like a soup. Overall I’d recommend it for lunch time Italian

I actually haven’t been to the restaurant, but I was gifted some of their fresh/frozen mushroom ravioli and was wowed. I see another review objecting to calling frozen ravioli«fresh,» but pasta that hasn’t been dried really is tastier, even if it was frozen. I had a pound and cooked up half for lunch, just serving them with a little olive oil, figuring I would make a nice sauce for the other half. But I loved it served simply just like this! The pasta was tender, but with that slight bite that you get in fresh pasta, and the filling was mushroomy and delicious. No sauce needed. A few hours later I cooked up the other half with the excuse that it was dinner. But really I just wanted more. After finishing my second bowl I promptly went online to find the store location so that I could order more. Sadly, this place is way out of my way and only open on weekdays. I can only hope that the wonderful, kind, loving, thoughtful person(hint, hint!) who gave me my first bag will give me some more…

I have to admit, Mamma Lina’s makes one fine meatball sandwich. Located in an industrial and commercial complex, this place not only makes prepared Italian foods, like frozen pastas, for local eateries, but makes fresh hot sandwiches such as the delicious meatball submarine I enjoyed for only $ 6 and some change. The meatballs came nestled in a warm Italian white roll surrounded by a tasty red marinara sauce and melted provolone cheese. The meatballs were great. They had just the right amount of bread crumbs to meat ratio and the seasoning was on point. They were very moist and came piping hot. The sauce they came with them had a very nice herb and tomato flavor. In addition to the nutty provolone cheese that came with the sandwich, I added a lot of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, that gave the meatball sandwich a nice saltiness. The white roll was a typical, in a good way, for an Italian roll. It had a light crusty exterior and moist soft center, followed by a mild yeasty flavor. You can also get a half a sandwich for half the price. Oh yes, they don’t add the grated Parmesan cheese, but they have some at the counter with the utensils and napkins.

I LOVE finding hidden GEMS and this is one of them. Tucked away in a very industrial area, you thing you are lost, but really you aren’t. Small eating area, so either arrive early or take it to go. They are also only open for a limited hours. Parking lot is small or you can park in the street. Now on to the Food. Delicious, delicious and so cheap. I had their ravioli and it was hearty, filled with meat and not a small amount but surprisingly large amount in the shell. Usually most places you get more pasta than meat, not at Mamma Lina’s. My son had a sandwich and it was the best Italian sandwich he has had and still raves about it. Great food… PERIOD. parking and rush times… you may want to plan ahead or like I said, take it to go.

Cheap eats. Big portions. No inside dining. You order at the counter, they yell out your name, you grab it from a togo box and find a table to sit outside to eat. We got the nicoise salad, which was just an elevated tuna salad with anchovies, the sausage raviolis with pesto/meat sauce and 2 meatballs, and a water. Total for the bill was $ 18. The raviolis felt a bit hard, like the pasta was a bit over worked. It wasn’t chewy. Definitely al dente. The sauce was SUPER oily. It was like it was sitting in mostly oil. It could have been due to the pesto sauce. Everything was also pretty salty. Every person we saw go in there was a male, so maybe it’s cheap eats for men. I would do the half order of both the pasta and salad next time since the full orders were too big for 2 people to share.

Went back aiming to try the meatball sandwich. Their specials board listed a torpedo sandwich combo, so I had that instead. A substantial sandwich, chips, and a can of pop for $ 7.50 is hard to pass up. The torpedo was pretty bomb.(Intended? Maybe.) I’d guess the sandwich is in the 8″-10″ range. It was just the right size. The roll was toasted just right. I don’t know what meats exactly are in the torpedo; I could pick out ham and mortadella I think. I got it with«everything,» which seemed to be lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, and I think Italian dressing. It was a delicious meals. With chips, I definitely felt full enough. So by pasta or by sammie, it’s tough to go wrong here. For sure a new stand by for me.

I am so glad I found this place for lunch on Unilocal!Portion sizes are decent for what you pay, $ 4 half order, $ 6 full order. If you’re really hungry, I would go for the full because the half only comes with 4 pieces of ravioli. The pasta tastes fresh! I love their pesto bread! I have tried their tortellini, sausage & beef ravioli. The sausage is a little salty, but for the price you pay, you can’t complain! The workers are always nice and friendly. Sad thing is that they are only open M-F 11 – 2.

Quick break down for the Sausage ravioli lunch combo Portion size: 1⁄1 Price: 1⁄1 Customer service: 1⁄1 Taste: .5÷1 Location and cool factor .75÷1 Overall: 5.25÷6.00 Forgive me for the cheesy and typical scale grade, but that’s how I over view this business. Man the $ 1 reduction for checking in, the fact they make pasta in house and the fact that they have a large lunch combo for $ 5 flat. YES $ 5 flat for a Greek salad, 7 pieces of ravioli, and pesto bread. Portions were humongous and was only emphasized that so cheap due to the price. The only downfall was the flavor. The pasta around the ravioli was well seasoned and perfect texture it’s just the sauce. Not to be too much of a prick in judging but the sauce tasted bland and thin. Similar to a spaghetti-O’s. Other wise hold tight and try out a great combo filling deal!

If you like a lot of food for a really great price, this is the place for you! I found this restaurant on Unilocal(what in the world did we ever do before we had it) and as it turns out it was super close to my office and I haven’t heard of anyone having been there before… whaaaat?!! I know right, an office of a few hundred people and I never heard of the place. I figured I’d be the guinea pig and try it out and I’m so glad I did! They are only open for lunch and the portions are huge and for such a great price. It was only $ 6 for the combo($ 5 with the $ 1 off from my Unilocal check in). Not only that, the quality of the food is excellent, I had the mushroom ravioli and it was perfectly cooked and kept its shape as you picked it up with a fork. It finally dawned on me why I never heard of it from my coworkers, they wanted to keep it a secret because it’s just that good :) but have no fear fellow Unilocalers, I got your back! Check out Mamma Lina’s for a filling lunch.

Great hole-in-the-wall tucked in the middle of Mira Mesa’s business district! It’s true — you really won’t hear about this place unless you hear it word-of-mouth. This place is very well-known from many who work within a 2-mile radius, which explains why it’s only open from 11am — 2pm aka lunch hours for all the employees in the area. It’s also not that hard to find — just google maps the address and it’ll take you directly to the cul-de-sac where you’ll easily find a big sign that literally says«Mamma Lina’s» haha. I’m giving it 4⁄5 stars. Why not 5 stars? To me, the food wasn’t AMAAAAAZING like something you’d find at Buca or something, but it was still delicious and SOOOO filling for a cheap price! At Mamma Lina’s, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. I order the lunch combo of beef ravioli with marinara sauce that comes with two slices of garlic bread and salad. I also bought a chocolate chip cookie, and I paid a total of $ 6.50! I had a pretty big appetite that day, but with that combo, I was so full. I just couldn’t finish the last piece of ravioli. You can try different kinds of ravioli and sauces, so I definitely want to come back here and try something else. I came here for the first time 20 minutes before closing, and because I was anticipating a long wait, I decided to call in to order before heading over. I arrived at the place about 10 minutes after calling in and they already had my order ready to go. It wasn’t really that packed since I probably missed that noon prime time for lunch, but if you’re in a hurry to get back to work, I really recommend calling in to order just so everything is ready for you when you arrive. Beat the wait!

Location: It is hidden, but just follow the directions on Unilocal. You have to turn into steadmans to get to there. You will eventually come to a dead end on weather’s and it will be on the left. There will be signs saying Deli. Décor: All outdoor seating. You place your orders inside and give your name and just wait. Food & Drinks: They serve Ravioli, Tortellini, and sub sandwiches. They offer a variety of options allowing you to choose different fillings and from 4 different sauces(meat, marinara, pesto, herbs). I have only tried the marinara so far and have to say its superb. The beef ravioli itself was okay, but they serve a good portion of about 8 pretty big pieces of ravioli and a lot of that delicious sauce :). It also comes with a small salad and a slice of garlic bread. ALLFOR $ 6. I don’t think you’ll find a better deal for lunch. I will definitely be going back and trying all the different combinations !!! Happy Ravioli eating my friends :)

I kind of love hole-in-the-wall places just because they’re family owned and taste better 95% of the time. This one is on the side of a business building and you can see the kitchen in the back where I believe they make everything. It’s kind of a «fast food» style Italian place. You order and within 5 – 8 minutes, you get your food. I got a half portion of mushroom ravioli… which didn’t seem like a lot of food, but it’s at least 8 pieces of ravioli. They’re huge too! Plus you get two pieces of pesto bread and a little salad all for $ 4. SUPERGOODDEAL!!! Love this place — I will definitely be back for lunch more often!

Since it’s surrounded by corporate buildings, you wouldn’t find this place unless you heard of it by word of mouth. Apparently they distribute their fresh made pasta from the factory,(located inside the joint) to 90% of Italian restaurants in San Diego. I know this, because I was informed and welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff. The food, is by far, one of the best pastas I have eaten in San Diego. You’re served with your choice of pasta(ravioli or tortellini) and a variety of sauces(marinara, meat sauce, pesto, just to name a few). It’s about 6 – 7 dollars for a good amount of pasta. This combo includes a small side salad and a toasted pesto bread. Don’t expect to be served with garnish on a nice plate. You come here for the deliciousness of the food! They also serve sandwiches, although I have not tried them yet. Their 750 ml S. Pellegrino is $ 2.50!!! Now that my friend, is a steal. For the quality of the food and the prices, I would recommend this joint to anyone looking for that Italian fix! Buon appetito! Ambiance is like your own backyard patio. A few picnic tables set up outside(soak in this wonderful S.D. weather).
