Mac the Inspector

We hired Mac to inspect our first non-​condo older house because of his experience with older homes. Mac was very thorough and demonstrated his expertise and knowledge of older homes. He even provided referrals to trustworthy contractors for the repairs that we would need to complete in the future. He also provided a detailed report that gave us additional bargaining power in requesting that the sellers complete some of the repairs. I highly recommend Mac the Inspector!

I am a realtor in San Diego and a client of mine hired Mac to inspect an older home built in 1910 in North Park. Mac was wonderful. I’ve been attending inspections with clients for over 13 years and I learned things from Mac about older homes that I never knew before. I began using him as my go to inspector after that original inspection. He educates his customers by not only pointing out home issues but also explains what needs to be done in a way that my buyers understand and can feel confident about. He is very personable and friendly towards future homeowners and puts them at ease. His reports are detailed and professional.
I also like to use veterans who own their own businesses whenever possible and Mac is a decorated Vietnam combat pilot. He’s as good as they get and I would recommend him to any of my clients to use for their new home inspections!

Mac inspected our home and we were so happy with him that we referred my mother to him when she needed an inspection and report done for a lawsuit. Mac is professional and thorough and also a nice guy, which makes the whole process even nicer. You definetly feel like he has your best interest at heart.

I hired MAC the inspector for a home inspection prior to the purchase of a home. The home has been vacant for 6 months so I expected a detailed inspection. Not the case. The usual things were inspected such as electrical systems, plumbing, termites… But I feel that he didn’t pay enough attention to detail. A rusted through sink wasn’t detected (I had to point it out to him). He ran the AC for like 10 mins on a 70 degree day and determined that the AC was running fine, while previous AC specialist have written that AC is beyond its life.

The good…
He does bring his own printer and gives you a report on the spot.
Overall…
He was in and out in less than 2 hours (included time spent going over the report) and didn’t find things that I (the non-​paid non-​professional) found. I did not recommend him to my girlfriend who just purchased a home.
