Drinks were good, chips were bland even with the season and color on top. The salsa had no kick. It was better after we seasoned the salsa and chips with salt and put tabasco in the sauce lol. Waitres very friendly, nice spot, went just for drinks and chips. If you mess up chips and i gotta fix it gives me a lot to question.

It was a busy Saturday night in Old Town. While all of the tourists lined up at the other Mexican restaurants, we pulled into this sleepy outside bar with picnic tables and a handful of old geezers having beer. Combined with the dodgy bathroom, non-description tortilla chips and bland salsa, we wondered if we made a mistake. That’s when the world changed. It started with the Peanut Butter Stout that was unusually delicious. And the Flamingo Margarita was an explosion of flavor. Wow! I had read a Unilocal!Review that the Inside Out Quesadillas were«life-changing!» I needed a life-changing event but I couldn’t decide between carnitas, BBQ brisket or chicken. So get this. our server brought us samples of them to taste! Holy Quesidoly! They were all delicious but the Brisket was amazing and the Inside Out Quesadilla was truly life changing! My oldest daughter loved her rolled tacos — like a thick, crunchy taquito. My youngest daughter scarfed her blackened shrimp salad. And my wife vacuumed down her cilantro chicken tacos. Four outstanding meals, chips, guacamole and two alcoholic drinks and the total bill was $ 61! We would have paid twice that for blander food at one of those tourist traps. But I still haven’t told you the best thing about this place… the service! Our server not only offered samples, but she was extremely attentive, courteous & friendly. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Best overall value that we’ve enjoyed at Old Town!

2nd Taco Bell location in «San Diego»(Spanish for whales vagina). I love to see someone build upon a solid foundation like that(2nd Taco Bell location) and improve it with alcohol. Thank you… for alcohol. Oh, great service too.

Tried going here at 7:30 on a Sunday for dinner. Entered the restaurant and they had a sign on the street for food specials. Sat at the bar and asked for a menu and was informed the kitchen closes early on Sunday.

Fun bar grill restaurant but fine for families with kids. Good location and chill tunes to chow by. Get the smoked meats — the pork was good. Our neighbors had huge nachos which looked great.

Awesome service! Order a beef brisket, carnitas, breaded cod, and blackened shrimp taco. Brisket was a little salty and breaded cod was bland. Blackened shrimp was terrific though! Need brisket platter was nice and tender and the taste tots were perfectly crunchy. Definitely recommend. The shrimp taco was probably the best I’ve ever had.

Went here with a date as we were walking though Old Town, starving, and agreed to go to the next place that looked like it’d have tacos. I’m so glad we did. The Grilled Mahi tacos were bomb(and I’ve never been a huge fan of fish tacos before but now I’m converted) — there was a special on Thursday so Baja tacos were $ 3 each. My date had a huge plate of nachos that had toppings and dip well dispersed in layers through out the chips, something you never realized you loved until it happens. There was also a special for some cheap beers, and the early afternoon was the perfect time for a Corona and lime. The waitress was so friendly and we had a good chunk of conversation since it wasn’t too busy. I never would have imagined I’d like this place so much, but here I am still thinking about those tacos…

An oasis in Old Town! Good food and beverage at an extremely fair price. We walked right in and had no wait getting a table. Service was prompt and pleasant. The food was tasty and generous for the price. Definitely worth a stop and will definitely return on next visit.

What’s not love. Fresh, flaky fish tacos. Superb carnitas tacos. Retried beans with a hint of smoky goodness. You simply must come here and partake. Some of the best fish tacos I have had. perfectly seasoned, garden fresh salsa. This would earn 5 stars at twice the price. The margaritas were great and only 3 bucks with the Unilocal check in. Great, courteous staff made it even better.

Just OK… we came here for a quick lunch on Halloween… Booo!!! Guy serving patio area dressed as Scream or whatever asked 2 patrons that they could not have their outside drinks in due to health codes yet his plastic sweaty mask and sweaty face when removing the mask and grabbing food/drinks for patrons wasnt an issue… nor the large rat traps feet away from outside eating seating area in the patio, right next to children’s high chairs. PLEASE, cover those rat traps and move the children high chairs!!! Food was OK, service fair, rat traps unsightly!

Awesome! Totally enjoyed the food and atmosphere! So laid back. Check in with Unilocal and get a 3.00 margarita. Delicious ! Order the guacamole. For 3.00 you get a big bowl of Chips and fresh salsa and guacamole! Very very good. I had the fat boy burger. A beef burger, topped with pulled pork, Coke slaw and BBQ sauce in a brioche bread. Served with FF’s. So good! Huge serving. My husband got El’ Guapo.(10.95) Beyond crazy big. Burger sandwiched with a grilled cheese on both ends and FF’s. A meal that could feed 2. And my daughter ordered The southwestern salad. Lemon marinated chicken in the salad was delish! Let me tell you, family of 3, 3 margaritas, 2 beers, and 3 meals, 2 appetizers for under 62.00. Now that’s «Loco» Good!

When a bar is conveniently located next to a church were you went to a funeral… A house margarita is much needed! Time to drown our sorrows in some Mexican Liquid medicine. It always does the trick! We walked right in and sat ourselves at a table on the patio near the side of the bar. The music was playing, it was night time, the moon was bright, and the margaritas were glowing yellow. I just had the tall glass house margarita since they were only $ 4 on special for Thursday. My husband ordered one too. They were delicious. Thanks to our server Juan, who was very busy running around to different tables getting out orders, you were awesome…“you look familiar… where do I know you”. Lol! Juan says after your margarita you might remember. Haha! My kind of personality response love it! I checked in and got $ 3 off my margarita so the total was $ 7 for both. Great deal. I love this spot! It’s such a fun place to sit and watch the crowds go by during special events parades street parties and cinco de mayo or be like us and go have a drink after a nearby event at the church. Gracias por todo Juan!!!

You kinda have to be here at the right time. It depends if they have enough beer on tap versus how late you arrive at night for a taco craving. Other than that, this is a MUST for taco searchers in Old Town San Diego. NOTE: Their 3 mini taco combination must have the same meat for all 3 tacos. At first I thought it was a real bummer considering the lack of meat variety. However, go for the smoked beef brisket or carne asada for a little extra and the value of having the same meat for all 3 tacos is definitely worth it! So how do I explain the flavors? You know that feeling you get when you finish a dish and most often times you taste what you have just eaten in your burps? And within those burps, most of the time you don’t care for the taste or it’s like(why am I even thinking about burp tastes)? There is a very enjoyable smokey sensation in these burps, let alone, the aftertaste, and believe me my friend. It is a pleasant one worth savoring out loud, «Mmm, oh yeah, that was good.» Not a huge fan of the margaritas, but Los Locos is generous on their margarita proportions. The salsa may not me spicy hot, but the flavors are there to compliment the complimentary warm chips at the table. Overall, this is a great spot for a quick and very satisfying taco fix with your friends. Again, depending on when you arrive, you will be presented with every beer option and food item on the menu. Will I go back? For some unique and not your normal dirty tacos, most definitely!

Not much to say. Definitely wouldn’t come back unless I wanted tater tots. They get two stars for that! Customer service — Poor. You wait a long time just to put in a drink order. Even longer to get your drink back! Twice as long of a wait just to get a glass of water. When you finally get a chance to place your food order they get it wrong! They also charge you for chips and salsa!!! Who does that? I have yet to get charged for chips and salsa anywhere! Quality of food — burgers were ok, tacos sucked. Please do not get tacos here. If you are just looking to hang out and grab a drink this is your spot. Stay away from any mixed drink or anything not served in a bottle. We sent our drinks back because they tasted horrible. Way too much syrup for the margaritas… That is all!

I came here while on a trip with friends in San Diego and had a random craving for margaritas. Los locos came up on my Unilocal and had a $ 3 deal for margaritas so why not! We had no trouble finding the place but the parking was a pain. My friend and I each ordered a blended classic margarita. We found out that the deal only works on certain days but he was super nice and said if we bought another one, which we had already planned on, we could use the deal! The margaritas were really good and only $ 5 dollars at regular price. If I’m ever back in old town San Diego I’d definitely go back!

$ 4 margs on a Tuesday or $ 3 with a check-in. Either way, I was sold and we were loco for locos after 2 drinks in. Granted, you get what you pay for as they didn’t seem strong, but for $ 3, we really had no complaints. A great place to get a little buzz going, soak in some sun, and people watch. Located in old town, this little bar had ample outdoor seating that could easily accommodate a large party and still be cozy enough for a pair stopping for some quick and casual dining. I also noticed a lot of strollers and children with their parents here, surprisingly a very family-friendly facility. The drinks were delicious and the food was decent. We got chips and salsa($ 4?) and an order of mahi fish tacos and chicken tacos. The tortilla wasn’t super fresh, but the tacos were still very tasty! It’s also conveniently(or creepily) located next to a haunted house. So fill up and get your scare on or vice versa if you’re into that kind of stuff.

I would give this a solid 3.5 stars, with certain elements being pretty good and other things just so-so. This is a super casual place, nothing fancy, like an outdoor taco shop with drinks. 4 stars: What we like most is the location, and that the margaritas are a decent price and not too weak. When you’re in a touristy area like Old Town, that is actually a compliment. Ha! The seating is all outside so if the weather isn’t right, scratch this place off the list. However, on a warm evening it is a really fun place to sit and people watch over a drink. If you can get a spot at the bar that overlooks the sidewalk(and you usually can), that is ideal. 3 stars: Food… We got carne asada fries and those were pretty meh. Strange that they were crinkle fries, and the carne bits were small and sparse, other toppings not too impressive either. It seems one of their specialties is actually BBQ, so when we go back we’ll have to try that. Next time we’re in Old Town, it’s pretty much a given that we’ll stop by for at least one or two margaritas. Salud!

We ordered the Smoked BBQ Brisket Sandwich and the Baja Tacos with the battered shrimp. The BBQ sandwich was very plain and lacking flavor. I picked the potato salad as a side, and that was very good. The Baja Tacos were definitely better between the two dishes, but even that was far off from authentic Mexican, and it would probably better if they didn’t fry the shrimp. Their home made hot sauce is delish. Just ask for it. Overall, a very mediocre food experience.
