I along with Sandy D was excited about bundling up DirectV /Lifeshield. I’ve been a DirectV customer since 2012 and started out with ADT(Home Security System). I saw a good deal regarding bundling up so I dropped ADT and got Installed Lifeshield thinking things will go great with this bundle. My installer Tim was awesome and very cool and informative. Let me just state that. All good so far. BUT… Here’s what went on ever since. 1. I’ve called MORE than 10 times reporting something different — — Keypad did not turn alarm off several times after entering the code which lead us to «reset» the alarm — Bandwith has been slowed down by 10MBPS —(that means, with our internet service being at 18mbps, LifeShield has taken 10MBPS of our bandwith), leaving us with anywhere varying from 4 – 5 mbps remaining which has caused major slowdown — In order to get out of «Practice Mode», we have to fill out of a form to get a «Permit» then send that over to the Sheriff’s department and pay a 118.00 fee for the«processing form» in order to get the permit — REALLY? — ADT never charged this — Our interior cameras listed as «Camera Disconnected» Several times — Cameras will take a «snapshot» but when I look back on the time and images, they are not present — «Live» video does not show up on our devices(this has happened several times) — which means, I’ll literally sit in front of the camera and look at the app on my Smartphone and All I’ve seen was old footage from the earlier in the day. — «System Error» message displays on the keypad several times(leading to more phone calls with Lifeshield) — My wife walks into the house, enters our password several times while the alarm is going off and the alarm keeps on ringing while she enters the Correct password. Then I go and try to turn off the alarm from my device by entering the same password only to get a long spinner animation which did not turn off the alarm, then my wife ended up once again removing the batteries from the keypad, and resetting the whole system. Meanwhile no phone call from the police or sheriff’s, because of that nice 118.00 fee. — I downloaded the lifesheild app on my Smartphone and it has crashed several times(Literally crashed twice in a row after logging in and changing my settings) — I can see why this app only has 10k downloads.
My advice — If you plan on purchasing this«alarm System» be prepared for other charges that are not mentioned(i.e Permit fee) and any other fees that may be thrown your way. Also, be prepared for an app that crashes, system errors and multiple phone calls to customer service.

Please do further research on Security Co’s before signing up for LifeShield. I just installed Directv and was very excited to hear about their security division. My DT installer was very good and he set high expectations about this service. My equipment arrived with-in one day. I took the day off for my install. Two installers came in for the job. They looked at the equipment that they are to install. They talked amongst each other and then the main guy told me that he can install the sensors for the doors and windows but do not know how to install the camera and tablet. That they were not trained to do so, so they were very uncomfortable. They called their office and explained what they told me and I was handed the phone. I explained that these installers had no confidence what so ever to do the install. The man on the phone told me if I wanted to that I can set it up myself. I told him no thank you and sent the men on there way. After spending ¾ of my day on the phone explaining what had happened and asked if anyone can come out today and do the install they told me no. I found out they put us on high priority which was great, but they wouldn’t be out till Friday.(This is Wednesday) I cancelled the install. Of course I have their equipment so I will have to make a trip to the post office to send it back and when it is received my install deposit will be returned to me. Its one thing to set high expectations and its another to follow through. I hope it was just me who fell through the cracks but please do you due diligence!
