David is a great attorney! I recommend him to anyone who needs legal guidance/​representation with their small claims case. He put together a well written brief for me and explained to me my tenant rights and in layman’s terms too.
He doesn’t charge outrageous prices like the other lawyer’s I contacted had quoted.
With David’s help I prevailed in my lawsuit against my landlord!

San Diego County is lucky to have a lawyer that specializes in helping tenants. I have recently become the defendant in an unlawful detainer. I have contacted legal aid resources in my county for assistance but each and everyone of them hand their hand out just to answer questions as to what my rights are. I called David and left a message. He returned my call in a timely matter and answered all the question I had. Never once did he ask for any type of compensation or payment. He even made sure to let me know if I had anymore questions I could call him. I even signed on this sight to write this review. I can only hope Riverside county would have lawyers like this. David is one lawyer who makes up for the 100s of money hungry lawyers out there. He is setting the example many should learn to follow. I found David on Unilocal and had called a few other law offices while stressed out about a notice to quit our apartment. We had been having a terrible time with our property manager and were expected to pay for normal wear and tear repairs.
David called back almost immediately with sound advice. He met me the next day to go over everything more thoroughly and to compose a letter. The letter was fantastic. He definitely knows his stuff!
Now all of the necessary repairs we had requested over a year ago, are fixed. We are no longer being harassed. We couldn’t be happier with the results! I just wish we had come to him sooner!

I found David McCarthy listed on Unilocal but with no reviews. I needed someone to assist me in dealing with a delusional landlord that was selling his property and refused to negotiate a lease buy out. I was a little hesitant to try someone who had no reviews but his website made it clear that he had an expertise in the area of real estate law and I felt compelled to at least talk to him. He answered his phone and within a few short minutes of my explanation of the situation he listed several options I had in dealing with it. I was put at ease and made an appointment to meet with him the next day. Upon arrival at the office David addressed us right away and after another brief discussion asked what it was that I really wanted. He explained every option in simple and thorough detail and did not hesitate to answer all my questions. We discussed his fee (nominal) and while I was in the office he drafted a letter to the landlord and I signed it on the spot. It was in the mail the same day. The whole process was less than an hour and the landlord problems ended almost immediately. When it comes to the law in regards to rental properties this man is second to none, in my opinion. If you are having a problem dealing with a landlord do NOT hesitate to contact Mr. McCarthy. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.
