I don’t know why someone would try to compete with AAA unless they planned on going above and beyond expectations. You’d think that Landrover, being the premium car company it brands itself to be, would be able to do this. The problem is, they don’t. I called them to open up my locked car b/c I left my keys in a friend’s vehicle and had a spare key locked inside. After spending 5 full minutes typing in my phone number, taking a touchtone survey, and inputting my VIN(wow, really?) I was connected to a live person. She gets on the phone and says, «So, you locked your keys in your car?» Close, enough, send someone to open it. She can’t. «The only thing we can do is send a tow truck to tow the car to the Landrover dealership service station(40 mins from my house where the car was sitting) and they aren’t open on Sunday.» Why the dealership? «That’s the best I can do.» Hrmm. That’s not good enough. I was definitely put off by her lack of effort and inability to empathize with my situation. Maybe she doesn’t care but Landrover should. By owning a premium vehicle you should get premium service. They must not care after they’ve cashed your check. So, long story short, I picked up the phone, called AAA, experienced AWESOME customer service(as always) and had my car unlocked within 20 mins from the time I picked up the phone. AAA kicks butt for insurance and roadside assistance. Sorry for not calling you first, guys! :)
