Worst experience of my life. I regret being a patient of Kaiser permanente. We had an appointment set up for an ultrasound. It was going to be our first one. It took a month in a half to get this date set up. The day came and they called and canceled our appointment. Without letting us know in advance. I postponed everything for this date. I’m really hate the fact that they didn’t let me know. And it took so long to get this date. And no other time is available.

Very disappointed. This location has been by far one of the worst Kaisers I’ve been too. Scheduled an appointment about a month ago for this week after being admitted to the ER and they cancelled my appointment due to a provider calling out. It’s such an inconvenience to me. I waited a whole month even tried rescheduling sooner than the appointment date and told me I had to wait until the day of and turns out they cancelled. They didn’t even try rescheduling me for the same day at another location, they said I had to wait another week. Like come on what kind of service is that!!!

This Review is Exclusively rating Alex in the Pharmacy. My husband became disabled in Dec 2015. We’ve been with Kaiser over 25 years. We Pay $$ 480 a month plus $ 30 CoPay.
Since he’s unable to work, we are grateful to EDD but it’s quite short from his income. I was referred to KP Financial assistance they sent me an application I submitted 3 days ago. The gentleman who assisted me at KP Financial gave me the verbiage to tell the KP when they ask for the co-​pays. We are in process of applying with KP Financial. He said, by No Means can they deny you being treated or your medication.
We’ve had no problems at Zion 2 weeks ago.
Sat 1÷30÷16 I take my husband to urgent care, he’s having Asthma attacks has no Rescue Inhalers and Alex refused to give him his medication unless we filled an application there with her. I refused to because I just sent my application packet with copies of documentation to KP Financial. Why would I want to give or leave our private info to somebody that is in the Pharmacy and so close to the border. Sorry lady no can do. I had her send my hubs prescriptions to Zion. They were as usual excellent. They even suggested for me to write a Kaiser Grievance. Alex put My husband’s life at risk, struggling to breathe for 35 minutes of driving.

If I could give negative stars I would. Dealing with their medical records and radiology departments to get copies of my MRI sent to my new doctor (I bounced out of Kasier insurance first chance I had) has been the most unnecessary challenging experience of my life. I’ve been given 20 different phone #s to call, spoken to 50 different people who always give me different answers, transferred me around a million times to mostly #s that end up in a busy tone, RUDE customer service agents who talk to you like your 5 years old if you ask a simple question. Finally spoke with the one decent person who works for Kaiser (I think her name was Tia) and she actually helped me. Can’t wait to get my MRI and never have to deal with these people ever again. And this is only 1 of the many terrible experiences I’ve had with Kasier.

This place used to be open only on weekdays. I have no idea when they started taking weekend appointments. Anyway, health care in general is never perfect. They have self check in kiosks which don’t work half the time. I’ve tried them. I feel like a # of the system half the time. You wait till you’re called in which can be anywhere up to an hour. Customer service is sorta hit or miss. I’ve never had major problems with this place though. When you call in and if they insist you wait for an appointment a few days/​weeks out, insist to be seen the same day if you don’t wanna wait. That seems to work.

The best medical care I have EVER received!
I feel like part of a family, not just a medical record number.
Kaiser has left no stone unturned with my health and well being.
The Otay Mesa facility is wonderful.
The staff there has treated just like I, as a patient, should be treated. With dignity and respect.

Urgent care has gone to shit. Walked in and was told I we had to wait 3 hours and once checked in we couldn’t leave the waiting room WTF… the only thing on TV was the kaiser tv. HORRIBLE!!! We drove all the way up to San Marcos because they had a 30 minute wait and even with the drive and the wait we were done before my husband even would of been checked in.

Have had kaiser almost all my life. Love the convenience and quality of care.
They have definitely improved since I was a kid and you had to wait forever to get an appointment and then had to wait forever when you were there.
Now I call and get a same day appt and everyone is really friendly. I love that after surgeries the doctor calls to check up on you.

Okay I had my first surgery with Dr Cronin on June 22^nd 2015 it was in knuckle replacement with the flexible joint that he put in there through my knuckle in the bone bucket and put in the flexible joint and sent me home withe. x strentgh Tylenol and a I was in extreme pain I left messages on his email letting him know that I needed more painkillers and needed help on either this I needed that and he ignored everything second surgery was September 2^nd 2015 to try and fix this mess that was made the doctor put in a metal plate and six screws and a full blown cast againn and I am over 90 days with this cast on! My fingers healed there’s no pain I can move it just a little bit but yet I’m stuck in this past and my doctor is way too busy to even schedule a follow-​up cast removal anything and I’ve had this cast on for so long that when they take that cash off of me finally when they finally get the damn thing off I’m going to stand up and get the hell out of that building. No more test no more nothing not with orthopedic they don’t seem very responsible they seem very very busy my doctor says he’s the caring doctor but he’s so caring he can’t even answer a phone call what a bunch of BS! Membership services knows all about it and they’re not going to be happy with you not getting back to your phone calls and nothing and you can’t blame your staff if you already know your staff are a bunch of idiots fire your staff, you know the ones who aren’t telling you about your messages– arent telling you anybody is calling after you! you know who they are your scheduling people and your staffand who ever answer the phone for you right ! you have calls from September October –unanswered calls!!! DR. KROONEN AND STAFF AT KAISER PERMANENTE are way way too busy to do anything all the way through you might get a surgery out of the doctor but it’ll be damn hard to get any kind of follow-​up and god forbid you let him put a cast on your body because it can might be a part of you for longer than you want longer than you thought I would definitely search around for a different Kaiser Dr because dr. Kroonen is just way way too busy anymore for anybody especially a patient! Look for a completely different dr. If you hate getting the run around! I bet you money you’ll be hearing from membership services in a couple days Dr croonin and his staff Kaiser orthopedic too bad because how old the rescue doctors I’m sure just fine but doctor croonin is not doing well by me

They said 2, 2:30 hour wait definitely went quicker than that… The employees at registration were great the nurse was awesome. Nothing bad to say about Kaiser.

IM SOOOOOO FUCKING OVER HEALTH CARE IN THIS COUNTRY. They won’t book me an appt and tell me to go to the ER. I say that’s ridiculous and increased costs because I DONT have an emergency. So then they say, go to urgent care. The only urgent care is in Otay so it’s like a 45 min drive. I get there and they say it’s a «little wait… About 2.5 hours, and you’re not allowed to leave the building once they check you in.» The AC is cranked super high and I have fever/​chills so it’s literally painful. So then they say «oh well we can book you with your primary care for tomorrow at 12:30.» WAIT A DAMN MINUTE— I called trying to do that BEFORE I drove 45 minutes to get here. Sooooo now I can wait in the freezing cold, coughing and sneezing my flu germs everywhere— or I can turn around, drive the 45 minutes back home and take the appointment that I was just offered but wasn’t offered when I first called in 3 hours ago. FUCK KAISER, FUCK HEALTH CARE.
When you finally are triaged, they bring you into a room with other patients sitting only about 2 feet away and divided by a half closed curtain. You are then asked personal health questions with anyone in the room able to hear (for example, I know the other patient has an allergy to laytex and takes birth control)— HIPPA VIOLATION.
I chose to stay and was freezing because I had a fever but the air conditioning was turned on full blast– they wouldn’t even give me a blanket until I started crying and shaking and an RN happened to pass and said I could have one. I hate this industry because Kaiser is able to get away with this lousy member service because pretty much every other provider pulls the same BS.

Urgent care should not be closed at 6:30!!! Sign states 8pm I’d understand 730 but this?! and when I got here the dumb ass security sent me away even though the call line told me to come in, so I called back and they told me they get notified they they’re no longer taking in people and they had not. So here I am in the parking long waiting for the nurse to call me back and give me the go ahead. They should have someone else turn people away. This ass was not at all friendly or try to give directions to other places to go. Like I really came here just to have a seat.

I took my wife as a walk in without an appointment to kaiser at the otay clinic. She was assisted right away and gave her some fluids and pain medication while her blood was examined. A CT scan was scheduled to find a possible problem. The doctor and the nurse which were great, walked up to us and told us the technician working on the CT scan had left the hospital for today. We were sent to Zion with the understanding that by the time we arrived at Zion, the blood results will be ready and right after the registration, we’ll be sent to get the CT scan. We were at the ER for almost 4 hours. Btw, as soon as we arrived, more blood was drawn because the results from the Otay clinic never got there… incredible!!!
I’m paying 1200/​mo. For my wife and I and can swallow this garbage service.
I know Zion gets pretty busy but being on both hospitals for almost 9 hours is bull %=÷x
Btw. The doctor at Zion was attentive and did the imposible to get us out of there pretty quick once the scan was ordered.
So sorry I chose kaiser as my health provider

By far they have been the best! Great staff, friendly and extremely helpfull! I love the pharmacy hours, especially because of my work schedule. I have not had a bad experience and look forward to keep coming back.

First when we got here we had to find the right build, find the right one. Check in the staff was nice we got here at 9 am but we don’t see the doctor until 9:30 am they want you to come early I don’t why? And then we not leaving for a hour after would.

Pharmacy gets an F. When the signs with the names don’t work, you need to call names, not skip me and leave me sitting for an hour whiles you look right at me homie. 10 minutes my *ss.

Yesterday I took my daughter to the doctor in Pediatrics for ear pain. We were in and out of there in 35 minutes including getting the antibiotics for the infection. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it! Great service, beautiful facility!

I took my husband to the Urgent Care here for a medical issue. He was called in to have his vitals taking rather quickly even though it was fairly crowded. Our over all time spent here was about 3 hours. We expected that for an Urgent Care facility. The nurses where very attentive to my husband, extremely kind and professional. I’d rather go here than the emergency room. The wait there has always been much longer.

Came here for a routine check up. This location is closest to home. I love how the nurses treat me well when I have to come in or need anything. The also have urgent care if you have to go the same day. This location is clean. There’s a parking structure on the right side when you enter on the north side. Restrooms are always located near the desks where you check in.

My first time visiting this facility was in 2006 as I had a Kaiser medical plan under a previous employer. Since it was years ago, that visit was a blur if I can remember clearly. Between then and now, I was also switching back and forth from Kaiser to Sharp/​Scripps as I had difficulties finding a doctor that fit my needs.
Fast forward to 2014 and with a new employer, I’m happy to say that I finally found a doctor through the
website that actually took the time to get to know me and my family/​medical history during my first visit. Her office is located at this facility making this convenient for me as I live nearly 2 – 3 minutes away.
Although I had been here years ago, things have definitely changed (for the better) as they have integrated «self check-​in» booths on every floor so that you don’t have to wait in line. My experience during my first visit was a breeze as I checked-​in with one of their representatives on the first floor who then notified me after paying that I was all ready to go except that I needed to be on the third floor. It was during my second visit when I decided to use the self service check-​in which I liked a lot since I wasn’t in the mood to fall in line. After checking in, I only waited 5 minutes before being seen by a nurse.
The nurse that dealt with me was very pleasant and cordial. After taking all my vitals, I informed her of what I was in for and she then led me to my room. Airy and clean, the room looked well kept and stocked by their staff. Within 5 minutes, I was seen by my doctor whom was like a breath of fresh air! Sweet, bubbly and very personable, I knew I chose the right fit once she took the time to get to know me as well as review my past record that started in 2006 with Kaiser. She was very honest which I was very much appreciative for. During my second visit which was a follow up, I made sure to ask plenty of questions even if it didn’t relate to what I was originally being seen for and she was more than happy to share her opinions and suggestions without making me feel like I needed to leave in a rush.
Since I will be on a physical therapy treatment, this facility will serve as my second home. So far I’ve had a pretty good experience as everything has been a breeze from checking-​in to being seen as well as picking up my prescriptions. I’m happy to say that I will be keeping Kaiser under my medical plan as long as my doctor doesn’t decide to leave and if I don’t move to another neighborhood :)
