Lovely little live music joint. Very small, can only hold 50. But the show we saw(Sara Petit) it was an all-seated show, so that works fine. The vibe reminds me of McCabe’s Guitar Shop. Much smaller and of course only local acts, not national ones like at McCabe’s. A sweet little live music joint. Parking on street is not hard at all, since most local business are not open at night. The only thing that’s readily improvable that they should fix is a poor website. This is difficult and uninformative. Owners… listen up!

Cute little joint. Coffee is kind of expensive(for me being a cheap broke college kid). Started going to the open mic nights on Sundays and go whenever I can. Recommend for a clean open mic night and good Chai Tea Lattes

A bit of advice; if you’re going to put a «Back in 10 minutes«sign on your door, please be back in 10 minutes. We waited for a half hour, but no one ever returned in that time. Very disappointing as I am a lover of local businesses and try to support them whenever possible.

My boyfriend and I are always in search for new coffee places. We ventured out to Adams to check out Cairo Café Lounge, however, we had no idea it was a hookah lounge. We don’t really smoke hookah so we stumbled upon Java Joe’s right across the street. MENU: I got a lavender frappuccino and my boyfriend got a banana with peanut butter frapp. Both were ok. My lavender frapp was a little too sweet for my liking and you can taste the lavender. Needless to say, I didn’t finish the drink. My boyfriend’s frapp tasted exactly like the name, there’s no sweetness to it and more on the healthier side. They have the usual kinds of coffee on their menu and more adventurous on their frapp drinks and their menu has a description of what the drink entails. They were really big on promoting Kombucha. No idea what that is but I guess I’ll have to try it next time. SERVICE: The place was empty when we came in. There’s a lady working in the front corner where they have the drinks setup. She was really nice and prompt, but I think it was due to the fact that there were no other customers and I’d imagined that if there were, she would be having a slower time because she’s the only one working there. PARKING: Parking on the streets only. Overall, it’s not my go-to coffee shop but it’s decent. This place has open mic every Tuesday and Sunday. Walking in, you see open seating of chairs facing the stage. One side of the wall has a bunch of wooden guitars hanging for decoration and on the other side, it has splatter art pieces for sale. I’d probably try this place out again to check out one of their shows and for the Kombucha drink.

Wanted to try a place I keep driving by but had not stopped to check out. So I grabbed my dog and we trekked up Adams to Java Joes’s yesterday 5÷31÷15. I think it was between 2−3pm I thought they were a place to grab coffee. I walked in and there were about 5 people talking and maybe I was wearing my invisible suit but no one broke from their conversation to greet me? Maybe they were not the owners or employees but it was weird to stand in a business for 2 minutes and no one greet you. I will assume they were open for business as the door was open and the people were inside but no one seemed eager to help. So I grabbed my dog and walked back down adams. Café Cabaret in on my way back home and the owner waved and came out to say hey and i’ve not been in there in over a year. Maybe none of the people inside were employees and maybe the one employee on shift was in the back trapped under a 18 wheeler or something, but maybe then leave a sign that says«back in 5mins» but I will for sure not bother with a place nor tell my neighbors to bother with a place where people don’t greet customers.

Java Joes coffee is soooo good! I love this funky little neighborhood place. They even have Kombucha on tap. .(try it) During the day it’s a quiet place to meet a friend for a chat or get some work done… at night the musical guests are really good, I have popped-in on several open mike nights and have really enjoyed the casual friendly atmosphere and great eclectic sounds. The scheduled musicians are some of the best San Diego has to offer! If you are looking for a relaxed fun place to hear good music and get a decent cup of coffee this is it…

Tried for first time… and last. Barista nice. She admitted she was new. She didn’t know how to make the mocha. It was not mixed and poor tasting. I made a $ 4 donation :~(. Positive point, she was keeping things clean.

Walked over for a chai tea while waiting on my car to get worked on down the street. They were featuring some pretty cool organic drinks I’ve never heard of and there was fantastic art up all around. Sure to be one of San Diego’s premier live music venues come night. Some cool older musicians hanging around… No ac but there is free wifi and comfy seating.

Went to check out the open mic on Sunday, and really enjoyed the place.
The audience was respectful, and Isaac(the host) was hilarious. Love it, and will be back again to check out the live music nights. Nice little stage, and good ambiance for musicians who want to perform there. Free wifi too :) These are the sort of small businesses we need to support.
