I ordered their Sunrise Breakfast and I am disappointed with that 1 small piece of bacon in it. It’s not worth the price. I won’t order it again. I am giving it 2 stars because I enjoyed my coffee.

I had the Artisan vegetarian sandwich today and it was delicious! There is also a huge salad bar, which I will be trying next time I am there. Great customer service — my sandwich was ready fast!

Ida’s has really good service and everyone is always super friendly. They have a great menu. I really used to love everything from Ida’s. I would come 2 – 3 a week and get anything from a salad to a wrap, coffee, brownies(which are delicious BTW) which has decreased to once every 2 – 3 weeks. I don’t know what has been going on there lately but it seems that in the past few months, I just can’t seem to get what I order. Anytime I try to personalize something(i.e. no onions, no blue cheese) they just cannot seem to get it right. Something is always wrong with my food. I don’t usually complain but when it happened again today I just had to. I just think that if I am paying almost $ 10.00 for a sandwich, it should be how I asked for it. I also agree with another reviewer about the inconsistent quality of the food. I could order something one day, the same thing the next and the quality would be completely different and prepared completely differently.

The quality here is very inconsistent. I’ve had great food and really poor quality items. Today, for example, I ordered a veggie bagel. The bagel was so stale, it was obviously left over from last week — not a good way to start the week! I also find their sandwich meats to lack flavor, tasting like its been frozen and defrosted. There is also a distinct lack of seasoning on most items. Overall, not the best deli in downtown.

This place has become the go-to option for Downtown weekday lunch spots. Their sandwiches, wraps and salads are excellent. They not only do a great job flavor-wise but their service is premium. I’m going to make sure that word gets spread around.

Best revamped Menu! I frequent Ida’s Deli since I work across the street. I love their new menu. You can’t go wrong with any of their menu items. I LOVE how they offer their daily lunch specials that usually come with a salad/chips/pasta and a drink! The employees are always friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. I love how their Ciabatta is always buttery and crispy! I’d eat here every day if I could!

Ida’s has got to be the worst place for customer service, prices, and quality. My co-worker and I decided to grab some breakfast at Ida’s before we went in to work. We were skeptical, because of our previous experiences, but decided to go ahead, since it was pouring outside. It took an employee several minutes to even acknowledge us, even if were the only ones waiting to order. They were all too busy talking. When someone finally assisted us, I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese, and my co-worker ordered the breakfast quesadilla. It was taking a long time for our order, so we had to leave and come back down a few minutes later for our food. Both our items were HORRIBLE! They burned the croissant and the bacon wasn’t fresh and in bits. I had to throw most of it away. My co-worker’s quesadilla was soggy and water, as though they didn’t drain the water from the beans. She took two bites and in the trash it went. Ida’s recently hiked up their prices. Instead of increasing their food prices, they should have increased and bettered their customer service and food quality. I gave this place too many chances and always the same outcome. The last time, I ordered a hot chocolate. You’d think they couldn’t mess that up, right? Wrong! It had no flavor and again, had to wait a long time for someone to assist me, even when I was the only one there. Don’t waste your time here. Go somewhere else where they actually value their customers and take pride in great customer service, because you won’t get that here. All you’ll get is an empty wallet and bad food.

It’s simply high quality bistro meals at a deli price. Amazing staff that’s fun to chat with and always makes me smile. I’ve been there countless times because it’s right in my building and the salad bar is a nice alternative to my usual food.

Since I last went to Ida’s, a few things have changed. First off, the prices have jumped, where it’s now slightly expensive. The menu has changed substantially, where a few sandwiches are new, or made differently. The salad menu seems to have expanded, as well. The portions also seem a bit smaller, which is a negative. This is still a place to get quality food, but it’ll come at a price now, so I might think twice before going back again.

The old menu was better. My sandwiches don’t come toasted anymore. I’ll have to think about coming back.

The new prices are very high. Used to be a great cheap sandwich now its a regular to expensive priced sandwich that looks better but does not taste better. Not going to be a frequent spot for me unless they change back.

Their gourmet breakfast croissant is to dieeeee for. DELICIOUS. I am also a huge fan of their garden grinder wrap. Any item that has their pesto sauce on it is guaranteed to please. Very friendly and efficient staff and they almost always have tasty samples too!

I’ve worked in this building for quite some time. Ida’s does NOT have fresh food. In the past, I’ve been sold a moldy muffin and a cottage cheese container with rotten strawberries in the accompanying cup. If you look at any of their refrigerated items, they do not have date stamps, so I’m really unsure how they keep track of old and new. Yesterday was the last straw. I had brought a salad from home, but was still a little hungry so went downstairs and got a cup of their turkey chili. Get upstairs, taste the chili, and it’s barely lukewarm. Go into the break room to microwave it, but a coworker already had their lunch in there. You should NEVER have to microwave just purchased soup to make it hot! It’s SOUP! Ate the chili anyway as my lunch was nearly over. Come 4:30, my stomach began feeling sour and by 7:30, I was throwing up. The only thing I’d had all day was the salad and the chili prior to getting sick. NEVER going here again. With so many great choices in downtown San Diego, you’d think they would step it up a notch. I should add this was the day after New Years and the deli was closed the previous day. I made the connection later after falling ill and realized that chili had been left from before the holiday… who knows when it had been made.

I had: Italian, French Dip & T.A.B.(turkey, avocado, bacon) I was skeptical when I saw this place. It just looks like an ordinary deli that is sort of hard to find because it is tucked into the Merrill Lynch building in the financial district downtown. It got rave reviews from a writer friend who knows her way around two slices of bread, so I figured looks could be deceiving. They were! This place is so good! The sandwiches are huge and tasty. Nothing fancy, just straight up good. Great price too. The service is amazing. The sandwich engineers are always very pleasant and willing to make any changes to the sandwiches. It’s nice to walk into a place that sees so many people on a daily basis, and get greeted like you’re seeing old friends. Must try!

I Great little Deli at the Merrill Lynch building down town. A little on the pricy side, but in a convenient location to all in the financial district. They have an excellent salad bar selection and a nice breakfast and lunch menu with plenty to pick from. I’m there in the mornings, they offer eggs made to order, croissants, beagle sandwiches, and wraps. Just about anything you could want for breakfast. Like i said before, It’s a Great Little Deli!

I miss this place, hopefully the two stink bombs that inhabit this building will move out so that I can come back. This Deli should be show cased on a place on those TV shows like Restaurant Impossible and Kitchen Nightmares. I have lived in San Diego for over 32 years and there are open jokes about poor services, low quality food and a place where Massholes and East Coasters wax poetic about: «Mah Deli on the street where I grew up in Bahston the Deli is like the sandwiches my Mah would make, San Diego doesn’t know Deli’s like New York does!» Grrrrrr go back to the East Coast NOW please. Anyhow, this is really a five star Deli and staff CARE about customer service and they put out the freshest ingredients for salads, sandwiches and whatever your fancy that I have ever seen in San Diego. i am on a diet, they have five fresh salads that are pre-made to choose from and it is only 1.00 more for some hot and delicious grilled chicken! Oh and let me talk about their in house made soup. Homemade, delicious and flavor full! When they have their Chicken and Dumplings, you have to dig in and try it at least once. :) I especially love their salad bar, it goes for the same price as Whole Foods 6.99 a pound. Okay team Ida’s, I have 20 pounds to lose and a half Marathon in 6 months that I want to PR… Keep those fresh salads and good food coming! :) oh and the cute guys who hollar at you behind the sandwich bar are easy on the eyes. Be nice ladies!
