First time officially eating in, oh man was it packed for a Saturday night! But nonetheless, this Mexican spot doesn’t skimp even when they’re crazy busy! Carne Asada fries is a must order! And top it off your meal with rolled tacos with guacamole!

For a late night eat this place doesn’t get any better. What I would suggest get here before the line becomes crazy long. the hot sauces are actually very good and the food is fresh. Their Carne Asada is very good, also try the rolled tacos. Worth the shot.

On Saturday at 2:30 pm, I found myself at Humberto’s looking for a late breakfast or early dinner. Somehow, I got busy and made it through most of the day without eating. I was HUNGRY and a breakfast burrito seemed just the thing. I ordered the chorizo, egg and cheese burrito. It was large and just the ticket washed down with some horchata. Humberto’s is a pretty typical taco shop. Parking is easy. Seating is limited but adequate. The staff is friendly. Well worth a return trip.

Amazing food. Their California burrito and Carne Asada Fries are up there with Lolitas. The meat is very good and not chewy at all. Its pretty cheap and the portions are huge. The gauc is amazing. No lumps, no tomatoes, no onions, just how I like it. The green salsa is perfect. Not too much lime like some green salsas and it definitely has the perfect amount of spiciness to it. The Chorizo and Machaca burritos are great too. One of the best taco shops that I’ve ever been too. Definitely check this place out. Only downside is waiting outside in line when its cold and there’s not really that many places to sit but I always get it to go orders anyway.

I enjoyed this place about a month ago! This review is for their breakfast burrito, chorizo! Holy yummy!!! It was perfect! Everything about this place was awesome, hole in the wall, great food, and to top it all off they have homemade salsa in squeeze bottles!!! I couldn’t decide which I loved more, the red or the green. I guess I must go back! Enjoy!

Done with this place. Drove here at 5am since I know it’s 24⁄7. «Our grill is off.» What? So no food? Nope. Why are you advertising 24⁄7 if you’re not really. Super bummed. And now hangry.

Well, it was one of those nights again. You know the night: You’re drunk, the bars are closed and you’re craving some taco shop. It happens all too often and luckily, Humberto’s is there to satisfy your craving. I always get the 2 beef tacos combo and it never, ever disappoints. The meat is always tender and seasoned(never grisly or bland) and the shells aren’t soaked in grease. I almost always finish my rice and beans too, because they are just so damn good! Also worth mentioning is the service. It is always friendly and they are very quick. Don’t let that line out the door discourage you! Additionally, there is ample parking in the parking lot and Über and Lyft can find the place very easily when you’re done eating and ready to venture back home. Humberto’s is quickly becoming one of my favorite taco shops in SD. I’ll continue to come back when I am in the area or when I’m on my way home from downtown. I’ve met a lot of taco shop snobs here in San Diego and I’m starting to see why. Shops like Humberto’s set the bar very high!

Was tempted by photos of the fries with carne asada, shrimp, and pollo asada but when I found out it cost $ 16 I decided against it. Instead I ordered normal carne asada fries with extra crispy fries. The food was good and the salsa they provided in cups had a nice kick. No salsa bar which was disappointing but I love that they have crispy fries. I went fairly late in the night and it seems like a fairly popular 24 hr spot. Will definitely come again for a carne asada fries fix.

People that come here and complain about bad service need to go buy their burritos at taco bell! seriously! I’ve been coming to Humberto’s for about 3 years now and have never been disappointed in the food. The portions are pretty big and the prices are awesome! The meat is always tender, never dry. They have an awesome green salsa and no charge for extra jalapeños and carrots.

Have been told for over a year to try this place and I’m glad I finally did! It was a Saturday and place was busy(10:30 am), but we got our food fast. It was delicious and you can’t beat the price! This is now my favorite fast food Mexican place! Try it. You’ll love it!

Place is a bit small but their food is bomb af. Opened 24 hours, you can come anytime when you’re having a suden craving for some Mexican food. Their carne asada fries and rolled tacos are my favorite to get from here when I’m in town. Their quesadillas are good too but it’s as big as my head so that’s like two meals right there. Good place to come to late at night as well after a few drinks!

We went to Humberto’s tonight, like we do all the time. Usually, the nice lady helps us and everything’s great. Tonight was different. We stood there at the counter like idiots for like 10 minutes and they didn’t see us at all. My wife leaned over the counter and said Hi. The guy working smiled and said Hi and went right back to work. We waited longer. We said we’re leaving and nobody cared. I waved to the guy and he seemed to think I was saying good job or something. We left, shocked at how poorly we were served. It wasn’t any busier than it ever is. One star for you, Humberto’s.

I ordered three tacos and I thought they were sorta expensive for one taco but then when I got it, it was huge! I was expecting the small street tacos. It was really good! Great portions for the price. My only complaint: I paid with a credit card and noticed there was a .25 credit card fee charged. They did not tell me. It should be something they should disclose to customers using a credit card. Maybe have a sign in front of the register? A bit shady. But food was good.

I was craving a chorizo burrito after loading up on coffee at a nearby coffee shop, so I gave this place a gander. I was happy they had one too, so I ordered it for $ 5. The best part of the burrito was not just the spicy, well seasoning, and savory chorizo inside the burrito, but the large buttery moist flour tortilla. It was that good, yes, that good. I was also very pleased with the abundance of scrambled eggs mix with the heavy packed delicious Mexican chorizo sausage. Have to say, I was quite impressed with the quality scramble and the spot on seasoning with this burrito. I actually find it hard to fine a place that knows how to properly scramble chorizo with eggs. The burrito came with just the right amount of melted cheddar cheese. Great stuff! I tried both of their house hot sauces. The green was my favorite because it had a good balance of flavors and a good mild heat. The red was warmer, but had a more one dimensional red pepper flavor with a hint of tomato, on the other hand, the green had acidity, sweetness, and a bit of sourness too. Service was friendly, well humored, and with quite expedient.

Once upon a time, I rated Taco Fiesta in Grantville as the best carne asada fries I’ve ever had. And that is still technically true given the importance of «carne asada» in the name. But let’s go down the same evaluation I did back in the day for the maximum potency of said fries… 1. Thin and crispy fries — check 2. Guacamole — check 3. Sour cream — check 4. No beans — check 5. Cheese — check 6, Tons of carne asada — WAIT, YOUCANORDERCARNITASANDSHRIMPWITHTHECARNEASADA??? One picture of these insane super fries was enough to sell my friend(who had never been here before) on this place. And since it was almost 3AM and we had just come from DTSD, I’m always down for that late night Mexican food. Judging from the massive crowd outside the joint, I think we found the right spot. And yeah, no question, these are the BEST super fries I’ve ever had. Just another level that I couldn’t have imagined possible… but we got there.

I have to say this taco shop is good but not amazing to me. The prices are a bit much. The service is good, but that’s about it. The location is pretty bad, and on top of that the parking lot is kind of a nightmare sometimes. I first had one of their 10 different style breakfast burritos and I destroyed it. On my next visit I had ordered a combo plate which consisted of rice, beans, and two enchiladas. One beef and the other chicken… lets just say one was WAAAAAY better than the other one. I will admit I’m being a bit harsh, but the menu is hit and miss. They do have a good amount of food that is good, and some blah items. I will say the breakfast burritos, carne asada fries, a few different combination are good, and I can’t wait to go on the weekend after a night of drinking to try their menudo that they only serve on the weekend.

As a Carne Asada Fries lover(I’m usually loyal to one brand) and a recently converted California Burrito fan A quick Unilocal search showed Humberto’s as a favorite for both, so I drove up to the shop and was lucky enough to park on the street at the storefront. This is a busy place, but that’s not surprising. I decided to go for the Carne Asada Fries, secured a table, and waited patiently to devour a local favorite. After trying them and eating a fair amount of the plate(I can never finish these huge portions on my own), I would definitely put it among the Top 3 – 5 places to get CAF in San Diego. The fries are crispy, the meat is good along with the sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I’ll return to get a burrito fix someday, but if they start to offer a half plate/portion of those fries, I’d go back sooner.
