The Sandwiches here are really good. I’m not going to say they are the best in San Diego, but I don’t know if any other sandwich shop that is as good. They have lots of varieties of breads to go along with their sandwiches. I usually get the gas lamp, or the turkey and gouda cheese. Can’t go wrong here!

The very best sandwiches with the very best meats. Customer service is out of bounds with Nick, Gio, Marcel and Tiff. They are doing a bang up job on sandwiches and booze selection. They have it all. Batteries, cigs, condoms, chips, cookies. Come in the afternoon and nick will be watching an a good soccer game yelling at the tv or the customers if your not careful hahaha(joke). Place is always clean and inviting. Fresh coffee is generally always available if not yet at them to make ya some«FREAKINCOFFEEYO». Come get your fix of a Gaslamp classic.

I love this little store. It’s the best place for a quick sandwich. The pricing makes it one of the best places downtown for a great lunch. I always recommend my friends check this place out when they are visiting from out of town. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed

I was visiting the area for work, wanted a delicious sandwich, and this place did a pretty good job of satisfying! As everyone has said this place is an awesome hidden gem at the back of a liquor store. The ladies running the deli are incredibly nice and engaged me about my trip to San Diego. I had the«On Sixth» which was packed with fresh, delicious meats, veggies, and condiments. The sandwich was large, filling, and delicious. I briefly considered stopping by a nearby Subway before finding Hub and was very glad I went for the local option. My only criticism was that the sandwich came on white bread which was a little plain for all the deliciousness within and got soggy during the 10 minute walk I took before eating. I found out afterwards that I could have customized the bread(or gone with a wrap) which I do recommend to optimize the meal. While it might not seem like much from the outside, this was a great find and I will be coming back next time I’m in town.

I’m with everybody else. This place is seriously a hidden gem. I went here for liqueur for the longest time without knowing that there was a bomb ass deli in the back! Their ‘Ultimate’ breakfast burrito is to die for(pro tip: ask them to cook the eggs with sriracha!) and their sandwiches are super good too. The guys who work there are always really friendly and cool. ps. buy after buzz for your hangover. It works.

Like others this place has amazing sandwiches and a staff that goes with it. The were friendly, happy, assertive and more than willing to offer suggestions on how to switch custom sandwiche t our liking. If you’ve not been go! I had pastrami chino… if u love spicey its the bomb… pastrami wasnt fatty and the bread had the perfect crunch.

Good prices for sandwiches, and the guy making them has the best attitude… I wish I remembered to ask for his name.

If you’re looking for a quality, moderately priced sandwich and you find yourself in the gaslamp area, look no further than Hub! I stopped by the other day on the quest for some fast fuel and I was pleasantly surprised by both the friendly service and the filling sandwich I had within minutes of ordering! The ladies working the sandwich area couldn’t have been friendlier and were so patient as they asked me questions about how I wanted to customize my #5 «On Sixth.» I took it how it comes(Santa Fe turkey breast, crispy bacon, avocado, honey mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion) but switched it up from the sourdough bread to a whole wheat wrap instead. I also had them add pepperoncini. Highly recommend this! I wasn’t familiar with Dietz & Watson cold cuts as we always go for Boar’s Head in my house, but according to the Chef that came in for lunch, D&W is high quality too! I love that this place is a one-stop-shop. I grabbed a couple of beverages from the market but due to the size of my sandwich, I passed on getting chips despite quite a selection. At the register, the owner gave me a sample of the energy he created. If memory serves, it’s called«Just Try It.» I’m not big on energy drinks, but this one wasn’t bad. Hub offers breakfast in addition to lunch and dinner… definitely a great option if you’re looking for fresh made-to-order food to go. Make sure to grab some extra napkins as the sandwiches are big and can get a bit messy. That should be quite telling in itself, right?! Enjoy!

Wanted good sandwiched, got great sandwiches, made fresh with the best meats. My fave, the Aztec. I also got an Italian, I was bummed they put mayo and mustard together on there. Us East coasters do not do that. Would have been better with vinegar and oil. But still delicious. Super good bread and price was super good. Nice people, fast service. Deli is in the back…

This deli has great quality meats & it’s apparent they cut no corners to serve their clients the best. That says a lot for any establishment. Aside from the great food, their hospitality & customer service is second to none. I highly recommend this place. 2 thumbs up for sure

Oh my!!! You’ve got to get yourself a deli sandwich here. My husband and I were in town several days for a conference and holiday — sadly, we didn’t discover Hub Market & Deli until near the end of our stay. Good news is — we managed to get sandwiches three times in as many days! The On 6th is delicious — I switched to the Squaw bun and am now in bread heaven. My husband enjoyed both the Gas Lamp and the Philly Cheese Steak and loved them both. Loved seeing a standing order list for the staff of our nearby hotel — you know it’s good when locals have standing orders! We brought Hub Market sandwiches to the Symphony and our choice was far superior to anything offered on the menu and I’m writing this after buying sandwiches to bring on the plane — I recommend that every traveller leaving from San Diego take advantage of the opportunity to buy an affordable and tasty meal at Hub Market for your flight rather than wasting money on overpriced stale airport food. Don’t forget to grab napkins when you pick up your order as they are self-serve napkins and you won’t have any if you don’t grab ‘em! Delicious!

Found this Gem on Unilocal and took my coworkers here to get sandwhiches. We all got something different and so here are the reviews! The place itself is very well put together, sandwiches in the back. drinks on the way to the cash register and your done :) No crowds or long lines it was perfect and we went at noon the usual lunch rush. I got the Aztec and added bacon and eventhough it wasn’t as thick as my coworkers sandwiches it was DELICIOUS!!! I will be back ! My coworker #1 got the Rajun Cajun and added avocado and she said it was super yummy and gives it a 10 Coworker #2 got the on sixth and thought it was really good as well but next time she will change the mustard to regular . Also if you like Yerba Mate they have 4 different flavors here which is hard to find! I was like a kid in a candy store :)

In town for a conference, and I needed a place where I could grab a quick bite and not have to wait in line with the huddled masses from the conference. Found this place on Unilocal, and tried it out. I followed the advice of other Unilocalers and had the Gaslamp sandwich. It was awesome. Well made with ample supply of meats. Can’t beat the price. The market portion of the store was a little slim pickin’s for my taste; although, they did have awesome white cheddar popcorn snack-sized bags. I was in and out of the store in under 10 minutes. Quick yet courteous. Nationwide food chains could learn a few things from stores like this one.

I ordered the Rajun Cajun for $ 6.99 +tax. Very yummy but could use more meat or meat that has a stronger taste. Had more lettuce than meat. It’s an addition $ 2 for extra meat. I do appreciate that the meat wasn’t some overly processed, overly salted selection.

Just moved downtown, so of course my first mission is to find the best sandwich shop around. As the first test, hub did not disappoint. The gaslamp was a great sandwich, and definitely a good value at 7 bucks. Will need to come back and try the bonkers sandwich. Avoid the liquor selection though, it’s pricey.

Who romanticized a picnic? A picnic is a great deal of work, unless you contact this sandwich shop. One quick phone call and I was able to cobble together a feast for pick-up for 10 people in less than 20 minutes. Their menu is spot on, and the staff is trained to consider all the possibilities, and they packaged a great deal of food, very effectively with low over packaging. I was able to enjoy the meal with my company for a very reasonable price.
