This Hodads location is inside Petco Park. I went with my wife and son and they sat us inside the little car. Service was great and the burgers were delicious. I haven’t been to their other locations but it seems like they would be consistent. Will definitely come here again next time I go to a Padres game.

This is for the review of the restaurant inside Petco Park. The wait for a table was really long and then we were basically sat in the hallway. So there’s that. The burgers were awesome and the onion rings as well. It was all very nice, but next time we might order to take it back to our seats or to the park in the park. Our waitress rarely came to check on us.

The food is good but it takes forever!!! In order to get food, you need to be seated in the restaurant, even if you’re taking the food back to your seats to watch the game. We were told it’d take ten minutes to be seated and ten minutes to get our food. Lie. We got seated within ten minutes but the food itself took forever! We waited for two burgers and in that time, we missed three innings. On top of that, they forgot our fries so we had to wait an additional ten minutes for those. The food itself is your quality Hodad’s but it’s definitely not quick if you’re looking for something fast so that you can get into your seats and watch the game. This place is better suited for a crowd who doesn’t care how long they’re waiting for their food and would rather watch the game on the tvs than live.

I will never eat here. Continued to do business during the national anthem. Classless.

Out of all the amazing experiences I’ve had at Petco Park, Hodads wasn’t one of them. They definitely weren’t bad but I felt they were very overhyped. While on a tour of Petco Park, the tour guide suggested we eat here because Hodads was a local favorite. I was enjoying the game from Zenbu and almost ordered sushi there but that felt, almost, un-American. This influenced me to take a stroll and pick up some Hodads. My buddy and I ordered Double Cheese burgers and Fries. Standard burger, standard fries, personally I would’ve put an in-n-out in the park instead. The service was great, the eatery was super packed but the staff allowed me to order takeout, even though they don’t really do that and did so in a timely manner.

Great burgers and great fries. I love the locations at Petco Park. The people are friendly, the food is awesome, and you won’t be disappointed.

As a Padres season ticket holder, I frequent this place a lot. It’s one of the better deals at the park. Each time the service has been exceptional and the food delicious. However, the last two times I went, the service and food seems to be declining. The first time, the wait for the food was quite long. When our burgers finally arrived they were ice cold. Sympathizing that perhaps it was a busy night, I let our server know the situation in a very kind manner. Our server claimed it was due to the veggies that were added.(Not sure how that explained the still frozen bottom bun.) We asked if the burgers could be re-heated and she seemed rather irritated with this request. We received new burgers, warmer this time, but still slightly frozen in the middle. We didn’t bother with the server again. We were bummed. Deciding to give them one more try, we ventured there again. This time, the hostess passed us by multiple times before acknowledging our presence.(Not a good start.) Once seated, we were greeted right away by our server.(Redemption!) He brought our drinks super fast and that was the last time we saw him until we finally had to ask for the check. Twice. Our food took roughly 25 – 30 minutes to come out. We order one burger to split. We noticed people who were sat after us, getting their food before us. To add fuel to the flame, we later noticed on our bank statement, that an extra tip of 23% was added to the bill without consent. Hodads burgers are great. Unfortunately, it’s not worth the risk to go to this location anymore.

4 stars as this Hodads location is located upstairs in Petco Park and is one of the better dining options in a stadium that has sooo many good dining options. Petco Park has really turned into a good source for local food and drink. Hodads is known for their delicious burgers and this location is no different. Solid burgers, great beer, awesome ambiance and some delicious fries. This particular location is quite a bit more expensive then their other locations downtown and in PB but that’s expected considering the venue. There is an indoor dining option or you can take your burger back with you to the seats, wait for food is a bit longer then standard concession stands. This is an awesome choice for a burger during the game. Pros– Great food Large portions Local beer Nice ambiance Great views of Coronado Sit down dining Cons– Service is meh Wait times Crowded Loud

It might have been the fact that I was a bit buzzed by the time I showed to this place, 4 – 5 innings in but that hamburger was very good! It was very juicy, tender and just the perfect bite at that time. For being inside the stadium prices were very reasonable. Their staff was very patient and friendly. Overall, it was a good experience.

Man, after reading all of these amazing reviews, I was expecting an amazing burger. What I got was a good burger with the thickest piece of onion on earth. I love onion, but this was crazy. I think I tasted some tumerick in there also. Which was a nice surprise, but too much I think. Hodads, its alright…

In my opinion best Burgers & onion rings in SD hands down! Every time I come to Petco I come early to come eat here at Hodad’s. The burgers are big even the single ones & make sure you get bacon on it. If you like fries & onion rings & can’t decide which to get then just get the ‘Frings’ it’s a basket mix with both. There’s not much in the menu but what’s on it is great! The burgers are always juicy & everything is always fresh. Refills are free so tell them to keep it coming! Tho I shouldn’t eat that much before a game cuz I hate using PUBLIC Restrooms. When I come here I just can’t control myself & sometimes get the double bacon burger & the Frings & well I unload later with full force & probably disturb the people in the bathroom stalls next to me with my Hodad explosion but hey it’s worth it! Then I go watch the Padre game with a smile & no shame with the satisfaction knowing I just ate the best burger in SD. The service here is always friendly & surprisedly fast considering its busy. Of course weekday games it ain’t as busy but weekends you better come early cuz it’s pack. But don’t worry bout missing the game cuz they got Tv’s in there with the game on. And they got a bar with friendly bartenders. Over all it’s a great atmosphere & great place to chill & eat. The only thing I regret is never asking«The Boss Man» to take a picture with me may he RIP now. I met him a few times & he was always nice & a awesome guy. His legacy will continue in his burgers cuz there awesome just like him.

This seems like a cool place if you’re looking to sit down and relax with friends. But if you’re just stopping by for a quick bite to go between innings, do not come here! We were told that the food would take 10 minutes once we were seated. The hostess said we could order and they’d pack everything up for us to take back to our seats. It took 10 minutes for a waitress to come up to our tables. After ordering, we waited another 30 minutes for our two hamburgers and they forgot the fries. Another 5 minutes later, we were gone. We missed two and a half innings waiting for our food that they said would only take 10 minutes. Super disappointing. The food itself was good though and the prices are awesome for ballpark eats. I was just very disappointed in the speed at which we got our food making us miss so much of the game!

when the ballpark first opened, i thought PETCO had the worst food of any stadium in the country(and i’ve visited most of them). back then institutional sellers that cater airlines, prisons and hospitals dominated the scene and their food was pretty much what you’d expect. but now that nearly all the vendors are local, i think they’re outstanding. WYATT was craving a burger(a surprisingly difficult find at PETCO) and after wandering around for awhile(right, like two guys would ever ask for directions) we stumbled into HODAD’s. i had the BACONCHEESEBURGER and a basket of «fries» — pretty good burger and their POTATOWEDGES are what the sad KFC offerings aspire to be. the beer was ice cold, the server(ERIN from HUNTSVILLE, AL) was congenial, attentive and prompt and father and son waddled out fat and sassy. pretty good layover for a 20 oz SCULPIN and a chance to catch a couple air conditioned innings during a day game.

Amazing service! Came during the Padres opening weekend against SF! We sat at the bar because they were really busy! Service was excellent and fast! We got a Moscow mule type of drink and it was delish! Got a regular cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger with bacon! So much flavor! I would recommend this place! They had another location near by but the line was already forming and they weren’t open! A must in San Diego!

Food taste better at the regular Hodads not too far from the park! Bacon was over cooked on everyone’s burgers.

We went to Petco Park so we could finally go to one baseball game before the season ended, and ended up in here for dinner. rather than grabbing hot dogs at a concession stand. It was good! We got to sit in the Van table which was funny, and The Padre mascot came in while we were there and I got to take a selfie with him. We got an order of onion rings and one Guido Burger. Portions are ginormous, there was more than enough food for us with splitting a burger and onion rings. The biggest rip off of all time was the 4 Coors Lites for $ 42 which is due to ballpark prices. The annoying thing about all the overpriced items in Petco Park is that we would go more often and spend money there if it was not so ridiculous. Seriously, $ 42 for 4 beers? Yes they were large cans, I think 22 oz. But forreals? Food was good, service was good, I bet this place is pretty fun when it’s busy… it was not that busy when we were there.

This review is for Hodad’s at Petco Park. The food tastes ok, but… As a proficient cook and a somewhat disciplined adult, I take a dim view of the current vogue for«brashness; more heat, more salt, more fat, more, more, more…» ( ) An overload of meat and sloppy sauces, piled unreasonably high for hand-held food, the explosive Hodad’s burger is perfect for surfers and young boys, but not for grownups seeking a meal before a baseball game. I miss Donovan’s in this space. The food was better, I never left unsatisfied, and I used far fewer napkins to get the same result.

I can only speak for my experience at Hodads inside Petco Park. Last week, I attended the Padres game with my family(we beat the Braves 10 – 1). I had not seen all of the new additions to Petco(like Phil’s BBQ, Hodads, etc) so I was anxious to try some of the food. I picked Hodads. I got a couple of bacon cheeseburgers(single-patty) with fries and it was outstanding! As good as In-N-Out(which I hold in high regard), better really. They were a little pricey but it’s the ballpark. Everything is pricey here. I would totally order this again.

I don’t know, but I think it’s all the machismo in the air. The male blood needs meat. It’s a typical fast food burger, but wrapped up in paper to hold in the high stack of and tomato, lettuce, onion. The bun is typical, nothing special. If you want to take it back to eat at your seat, you order from the bar… and they’re might be a wait. Since it’s not part of the food court(and upstairs), it’s not going to be piping hot by the time you get a’munching. Fries are good, and yep, I’d do it all over again.
