Hazelwoods On the Bay

This place is labeled as a stand alone restaurant but I believe it’s part of the Wyndham. Nothing special here just quick food at resort prices. They do open early for us folks that wake up with or before the sun.
I had French toast, sausage, two eggs for I think $ 12. Which isn’t bad for some restaurants but this is just your basic olé French toast and eggs. The food wasn’t awful by any means or something you’d definitely wanna go back for. This is just a convenient place to grab a bite if you don’t feel like walking or Ubering 4 blocks or more for anything else.

Staying at the Hotel next door. Stopped in and ordered the deli melt. OMG delish!!! Pastrami provolone lettuce spicy mustard and mayo on a toasted onion roll. Soooo good. I also had the macaroni salad it was good as well. The service was great the staff friendly and the view of the bay just topped it off. Must give it a try!

Avoid coming here. Bad service, food is bad. One star if for the view you get from the patio.

I was staying at the Wyndham and was so happy there was a quick food spot right in front of the hotel. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are delicious and everything is very reasonably priced. Loved that they have a patio that looks out over the water. Will definitely be back.

I am staying at the Wyndham Bayside and came here for an early breakfast. They open at 6am — one of the few spots around the hotel that is open this early. I had eggs/​potatoes/​bacon and juice. The food was nothing special — bacon and potatoes were extremely salty. The restaurant is not appealing inside, although outdoor sitting would probably be nice on a sunny day. Overall, nothing special. Would give it 2 stars, but gave 3 because they are open so early.

Great spot, good food, right on the embarcadero. Sandwiches are big and can probably split one.

we stopped in here twice while on holiday and we were very happy with the service and the food was very yummy!
The pizza was the best we have had.
if we come back to san deigo we will definitely eat here again.

I had today’s special: Two eggs, potatoes, biscuit, country fried steak. $ 9.99.
The food overall was bland. Potatoes were soggy, steak was thick and boring, eggs had very little seasoning on it. Buiscuit seems soggy and without crisp on the outside, and I think the pigeons would enjoy it more than I would. Drip coffee was a typical drip coffee, which in most cases in my option, they are not good but not bad either, just regular hot brewed acidic coffee that burns your tongue.
The service was not bad but I guess this is not an expensive restaurant with style, but rather the kind of a place where they would ask you «whaddaya want?» Not even a «good morning» was said when I walked in. There were four people eating outside when I walked in, and the kitchen did not seem busy. I ordered at the cashier (and the cashier did not know their Today’s Special), paid for the food, and waited about five minutes for my order. I took the tray of food (on a Styrofoam plate) outside, and enjoyed the overcast day outside. The view is good.
Conveniently located near the Wyndam where I stayed last night, and being from out of town, I did not want to hunt down a place to eat before checking out.
I give them two stars because it could be a lot better without making food expensive, and their customer service could be better too. My guess is that $ 9.99 is cheap for this area, but cheap and not good is what this food is.

Trust me & just stop in for some great food & top notch service. «Teresa» & «Irma» do a great job welcoming their customers & treating them with respect. Ya want to come back because they make you feel welcomed. And to top it all off … the service is quick … and the chow is the ‘bomb!’ I’m glad they’re open til 11pm now.

A gem we found… Prices are very reasonable. The sandwiches and wraps are huge. Officers club is packed with meat, n the Cobb chicken wrap is packed lots of chicken, avocado, bacon n egg. Both were very tastey. We were able to make two meals.
If you are a pickle fan, they have ice cold ones in the barrel.

The food was awesome, the view of the sunset was out-​of/​this-​world, the staff was friendly and great… The Margarita and Bloody Mary SUCKED-​BALLS!!! Weak-​as-​hell and small than f&$*!!! If you need a drink, only by bottles of beer… thank me later.

Huge sandwich, delicious fruit salad, good service and quick service time! It is truly great when you can sit out on the patio and look out into the bay and just enjoy the sun and the water!

HUGE sandwich, tons of meat, good prices, decent beer selection. The location is great, and they have an outside patio with prime people watching.
Pretty much any kind of sandwich you can dream up, they can make it. All good quality meats and cheese, and plenty of it, unlike some sandwich shops I have been to, this place does NOT skimp when they make your sandwich!

This place food was ok nothing I couldn’t get at a grocery store. There are pigeons everywhere! It’s disgusting. The view is not worth it.

Boar’s Head, fresh rolls, wine, and a view. What more could you ask for?! The staff are friendly and quick. Happy hour starts at 4pm.

Great sandwich! They serve Boar’s Head products. Had the chicken breast club — it was an actual grilled breast, well seasoned. Fresh toasted bread, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, bacon and swiss.
Great price! $ 12.75 included the sandwich, side order of tortellini salad and a fountain drink.
Tons of hot/​cold sandwich options, several different sides, a huge wall of coolers filled with beer/​wine/​sodas/​juices. And, they make pizza too.

We stopped in here to eat after discovering everything in Seaport Village closed at 9:00 pm. We received 10% off after we told them we were staying at the Wyndham next door. I guess you are supposed to get a discount card at check in which we never received.
The two guys behind the counter were super nice and friendly. My veggie burger was huge and tasty & they let us bring our doggie inside. She even got a doggie biscuit. Hubs said he really like the potato salad that came with his burger.
I’m really glad we stopped in here. Everything was tasty and fresh and the two guys behind the counter were a pleasure to chat with.

$ 26.00 for two people, for breakfast. Birds flying around your food freeeee
For that price they could at least bring it to your table. (Not call your number and I have to walk to a counter and pick it up)
No real dishes or silver where everything is on disposable.
Portions are smaller than expected
Birds nearby are aggressive and ugly, kind of grosses you out when your eating. I saw one club foot bird than looked very diseased.
Food was tasty and the café seemed clean
Not a bad spot for a quick meal.
I would return again, but probably take my food to go.

I stopped in for breakfast as it’s close by the harbor and handy. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese because the prices were 3X what they should be for this town. A breakfast Burrito is $ 10, you can get authentic Mexican breakfast burritos a few blocks away for $ 3. Hazelwoods serves it’s lackluster food on styrofoam plates, styrofoam coffee cups and disposable plastic wear, not environmentally friendly especially for a harbor café with marine life as neighbors. Expensive, cheap quality food, go elsewhere

I’d give it a 3.5, but rounding up cause of the friendly customer service. Stumbled upon this place when djing a military ball at the hotel next door. I ordered the surf something. First sandwich on the cold sandwich menu. It had bacon, turkey, and avocado. Then I picked wheat bread and the works. Definitely priced like hotel food, since it’s near a hotel and touristy area… kind of on the pricey side. It was a $ 9 sandwich, and I would say it was worth $ 7. Still a decent sandwich though. It looked like they had a good selection of beer, but I had a cup of water instead lol
