Toxic smell of cleaner, unbearable fumes, needed a gas mask, had to leave. Over half an hour wait at the bar for sub-mediocre bland food. There are a dozen sauce bottles and not even all of them could help my frittata. Unfriendly service. Pretty terrible experience overall.

LOVEDTHISPLACESOMUCH, WEATEHERETWICE in two days!!! It can be challenging if you want to have breakfast before 700 am in this part of the city. Fortunately, we were happy to wait for Harbor Breakfast and stood outside like stalkers. Our first day there was lovely. Our server(Alex?) was friendly and attentive. Although we were the first ones there, people slowly trickled in and the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. We LOVE Stumptown Coffee so we were psyched to start our day with delicious joe. We shared the French Toast which was die-licious. We also shared a Chorizo burro which is the larger cousin to the burrito. The burro was SUPERBIG and stuffed with diced potatoes, scrambled eggs, vegetables and chorizo. It was also served with a side of this delicious ancho-chili(?) sauce so the combination was perfection. Our second time at HB was for lunch and it did NOT disappoint! I had the Grilled Ham and Cheese on Sourdough served with the most AMAZING tater tots in the world. The sandwich was the perfect combination of thinly sliced ham, heirloom tomatoes and cheese. I personally felt that there was too much ham and too little cheese although I recognize that most people would want more ham. However, I was willing to overlook that being that the bread was crisp and perfectly seasoned! The tater tots were SUPERCRAY! We all gobbled our tots as they — too — were perfectly seasoned and crisp. The menu is seemingly limited, but with a solid selection! I LOVE this place and would recommend it any day of the week!

Came here during lunch and it was quite busy. Seemed like they were understaffed. I ordered the salmon Benedict and was expecting a lot more. Waiter forgot to give me my side and it took a while to flag her down. Slow service, okay quality food, $ 12-$ 20 range for an entrée.

For a busy place you think they would flip tables fast. It is so small so how would they not see when your sitting there forever without a server greeting you. Food took forever!!! It was nothing special. So overpriced. 4 people and 69 bucks!!! Are you kidding me!

If I’m pushed to say this was the most disappointing meal I had in San Diego, I have to caveat it by saying that 1) It was still really good and 2) I probably should have piped up about the couple of disappointing things — like cold homefries. That said, the menu had a lot of options that were interesting and some good specials, and we definitely left well fed — brunch kept us going until well into the evening.

Adorable space. Lovely/welcoming space indoor and out. –underseasoned, undercooked homefries –unpalatably dry french toast, with no redeeming qualities. Dry, and sad challah with what looked and tasted like a frozen berry mix. –unimpressive eggs benedict/hollondaise I could find in any hotel or hospital restaurant. Beautiful space. The busboy was friendly.

Amazing service, great location, incredible food!!! Go there the next time you get a chance. I had one of the specials it was a seafood omelet. ITWASAMAZING! The seafood was fresh! It had scallops, Blue crab and shrimp in it along with some tasty veggies. The sauce that was on top took the cake, I should have ordered a side of that. We met the owner and he was super nice. So the star of the menu is the homemade biscuits! YOUMUSTTRYTHEBISCUITS W/a SIDEOFHOMEMADESTRAWBERRYJELLY! Listen, I’m not a sweets kinda girl, but the biscuit, WASBETTERTHANLIFE! SOGOOD! The price point was reasonable. GOEARLY cause the line will build cause it’s a small place but if you end up waiting the wait is totally worth it.

This was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Ok so I rarely eat this kind of breakfast w hash browns and such so maybe I’m not the best one to judge but damn. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros special for around $ 11 and coffee.(The coffee was amazing too!) let me tell u about the items on my plate bc they were all expertly done. Eggs, scrambled perfectly fluffy and soft, avocado fan on top, tortilla fried crispy(don’t even need bacon) and hash browns that make u happy to be alive. Crispy, crunchy and buttery. Even the ketchup tasted good. I bet they made it in house, was fresh and not overly sweet. So the food and coffee. Amazing. But the service was quite nice too, friendly and attentive. And the bar stools were padded and comfy. Yes I’ll be back. Can’t wait in fact!

This place is amazing. We stumbled into this place by chance and we talked all day about how we believe in divine intervention because of this experience. Dramatic description aside, this place kicks ass. The staff is amazing and extremely proud of their food(which they should be). You can tell they are passionate by the way they speak to their customers. ASKTHEM what their recommendations are. We ended up ordering the lobster eggs Benedict(off the menu) by their recommendation and it was the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten and I’m not even lying. If they have their specials menu out l, seriously consider getting some chilaquiles because omg, fantastic. Their coffee is also great — can’t remember the name of the brand but they buy it specifically because it’s so good and strong. People came in just to order a to-go cup of the stuff. Basically, come here. Eat here. It’s great and totally worth it!

Didn’t have high expectations and was surprised at how consistently good the food is here! It doesn’t look like much from the outside(all blue walls) — and the inside has a retro diner type of feel. But the food is divine– and I am a HUGE breakfast snob. Have only eaten here for breakfast but can’t wait to try their lunch too. It’s a smaller venue, may be hard to get seating for groups larger than 6. On weekends, there is usually a long wait for breakfast so come early. We have come here 2 – 3 times now, once by ourselves and twice with friends. Everyone loved their food! My go to is their Harbor Challah French Toast Topped with Berry Sauce– wow absolutely amazing. Tip: get the berry sauce on the side, so you can add as much as you want on the french toast and control the sweetness. Doesn’t come with maple syrup(you actually don’t need it, the berry sauce is pretty sweet) but is quickly brought to you if you ask. My other favorite dish is their Chilaquiles– so delicious– perfect amount of spices and the tortilla chips are crispy and not soggy. Eggs are fluffy. It’s on their specials menu so may not always be available. Each table has like 8 different types of hot sauces so you can pick and add whatever you want to your dish. The servers are all very nice and attentive. They take orders down on their iPhone or iPad– it threw me off on our first visit when we sat at the counter and the waitress was taking my order– I thought she was initially ignoring me and playing on her phone! Until I realized she was just placing my order :) Outdoor seating in the booths with umbrellas is nice for people watching when the weather permits. Definitely one of my go to places for breakfast, especially since I live 3 blocks away. Give it a try!

Beautiful restaurant! Fresh flowers, great décor, awesome playlist!(60s-70s rock to bluegrass and newer indie, stuff you recognize but have a hard time placing, so not just all the same old hits) Food was great, very fresh! I sat at the bar with my parents and had a great conversation with the owner. He makes his chicken salad with sprouted organic almonds, blueberries, etc. Heirloom tomatoes were not refrigerated(proper foodie way — doesn’t lose Lycene or taste). This is a place to go when you want fresh, all natural, well made food. I could see where people were saying it was bland, I didn’t think it was bland at all but it is not overly seasoned, it is fresh, well made, natural food. They have about 15 different hot sauces, honey, agave, numerous milk alternatives and organic milk and half and half. Peppercorn and black pepper and sea salt to choose from. Love the bar, and the outdoor picnic like tables. Is very open so if it’s a chilly day, bring a sweater. Beautiful light. A place to go for a good meal, as well as if you just want to grab coffee or a beer and have some toast with goat cheese and honey. Very good quality, all natural ingredients. Homey but chic spot.

I was hesitant. A hip looking place, in a busy, touristy area, little Italy. We went in anyway, as their menu looked great. Yum! I had the corn beef hash, a favourite of mine, and hard to find back home in Australia. My over easy fried eggs were perfectly cooked. The hash, delicious. My partner had the Lobster Benedict. Which was also to die for. Coffee was strong, and hot, and just like I like my American coffee to be. If we were in San Diego longer, I’d go back.

This is a lovely place with some creative and well-portioned breakfast and brunch options. They are certainly serious about food quality, and quality of experience. The servers are extremely lovely, and drive up my rating, for sure. The décor is upgraded rustic, super cute, simple, and comfortable. The breakfast\brunch prices are reasonable and appropriate for a downtown bourgeoisie spot. Not super over priced like many surrounding spots.(Although, I can’t speak for lunch or dinner prices). Lots of menu items and daily specials to choose from. The French toast looks amazing, and the huevos rancheros sounded quite good. I had the special Frittata sirena. My experience — could or should have been crispier, as in not soft, steamed egg style, but hearty, frittata baked or lightly broiled egg style. What I liked is that the seafood, the shrimp and scallops and crab were real — as in whole shrimp, small scallops, and shredded crabmeat. What I didn’t like was that the crab was just strewn atop the tomatillo sauce, and not incorporated into the frittata. Further, the whole thing, even with the sauce, was bland. Even when I added more tomatillo, and some Cholula hot sauce — still bland. Its hard to rectify bland eggs after they are cooked. That needs to be done in the beginning of the prep process. What I’d recommend is that they 1) sautee the seafood with something that has flavor(not super salty\high blood pressure, but flavorful), and then two, add some flavor to the eggs in before cooking. This frittata is called«sirena», but it should be called«London Fog»…(damp, drab). The hashbrowns are amazingly well done, and the malted brown toast was perfect. Another plus is that their outdoor seating has electric plugs on each side of the booths! A minus is the incessant construction and horrible urban noise pollution. I had to create makeshift earplugs(slightly dampened napkin pieces rolled up and then twisted into ears) to dampen some of the jackhammering and also the annoying nonstop narcissist talker who sat right on top of me(figuratively speaking) with his dog. Further, some atrocious«Go Car» place has some cornballs circling the block the every 15 minutes with these horrible vehicles spewing blue and white smoke.(So much for smog checks). While I did not cash in on the 50% off of a mimosa, I would consider returning, and trying something with a little more flavor — and probably sit indoors… unfortunately.

Harbor is my favorite brunch spot in Little Italy. I love the relaxed vibe, friendly service and fresh food. I highly recommend the Shrimp Diavlo special. It’s typically offered on the special menu and it’s delicious. I also love the omelettes, and the coffee is fantastic. Great location, tasty food and consistent service. What more can you ask for?

Unilocal checkin bonus on my visit — 50% off Mimosa at a breakfast place! How exciting. Breakfast was good. Steak & eggs, good steak, good grilled diced potatoes, very good cheese in the scrambled eggs(white cheddar). Mimosa was ok, not worth full price, but was worth the discounted price(maybe just sticker shock having just landed in CA). Uncle I was with loved their hollandaise sauce. I thought the outdoor booth seating was interesting. Overall, I would go back, and that’s what YOU(the reader) need to know, right? Have a nice time.

I think the reviews are pretty close to what the place is: breakfast but nothing blows your mind. I had the basic two egg/two bacon/home fries/toast combo. It was $ 12. I could have purchased all organic and a dozen of each for less than that. When did basic breakfast get so expensive? And if it is, then blow my mind with something I’ve never experienced. Harbor was just okay for me. I will not be back. Not because of anything they can change but simply because it’s not worth it.

Good breakfast joint. This place my fiancé wanted to go to since he saw it on triple D(diners, drive ins & dives) there was a decent wait since we arrived at prime time for breakfast. The restaurant was modern and well kept, the items were your regular breakfast items although more high end; Whole grain or pumpkin pancakes, «bottled» coca cola and only«bottled diet» cola. We had a group of 6 and food came out at decent timing. Food ordered: Whole grain pancakes — ok but dryer need lots of syrup Chilequiles– good Biscuits and gravy– really good and lots of flavor but real oily and caused heartburn afterwards Coffee was really good. Location– it is in downtown which is always a pain in the ass to get to. Parking is always expensive, we were there labor day weekend which could have added more headache then a normal weekend. We were lucky to have found a parking spot since there was a festival going on at the boardwalk a couple blocks away. We would return to this place again if in the area to try other items.

was there yesterday. did not expect something outstanding due to the rather bad reviews. however, the place is very close to my apt, so i gave it a try. had regular coffee and ‘traditional’ eggs benedict, both nothing to write home about, for $ 20. however, nothing to complain about the interior and staff:).
