Samantha or Sami from Flirt has been cutting my hair for 7 years now. She also does men’s cuts for half of friends, the friends with style ;) that is, She does an excellent job and I have always left her chair feeling happy about my new cut! She really takes the time to do it right but still gets me in and out in 30 minutes. She is really patient as I am always on my phone and kind of fidgety. I get my hair cut one to two times a month and a always get a compliment from someone after. I work at one of San Diego’s largest nightclub so having style and a clean cut is important to me and Sami is the only one I trust!

I have been having Sami do my color and cuts and she is amazing! The color lasts
far longer than any other I have had done and the glaze at the end makes it shine like I am standing in the sun all day and night. She does a wonderful cut even though I am one of those people that says «I dont know, do what you think» and it always gets me rave reviews both at home and from friends. The salon is very fun, I get a soft drink when I am sitting in the chair (thanks for having my favorite, Diet Coke) and the Bumble and Bumble Products are the best ever. I never leave without them! I am grateful to Sami for keeping me looking younger and better than I have ever felt before. Her attention to every detail shines through in her work. I would encourage everyone to try her services. My boys get there hair cut with her too and they have never looked better. Very talented to to both men and women.

No clue what Sara G is talking about below but Sami is amazing at men’s cuts. She does an amazing job with my haircuts as well as multiple of my friends haircuts. Sami makes it easy to get the hair you want and has always been extremely helpful and courteous!

I have been going to Sami since I moved to San Diego in 2012. Admittedly, I was a little skeptical, as a guy, going to a downtown Salon called Flirt but a friend gave me the recommendation and I have never been disappointed.
The atmosphere is light and fun; I have even had a beer while getting my haircut. Sami has always taken great care of me; she is always willing to listen and ready with a suggestion should I ask. The prices are fair and the service is always top notch; a haircut always includes a wash so you don’t have to walk around with the itchy little hairs most barber shops leave you with.
I would recommend Sami to any of my friends without hesitation.

Sami from flirt just did my hair for my bridal shower! She was amazing and made my hair look awesome! She’s the only one I trust and I’m definitely gonna need her in cabo to make me look beautiful on my wedding day! She does the best blow outs, colors, Extentions and more! Hands down my very favorite hair stylist in SD. Or anywhere and I’m picky!

My lash Dr. hold her apts out of this Salon. I haven’t used any of the other services at this salon except the mink lash extensions… Which I’m in LOVE with!
I’ve gotten a full set and a refill so far and I just can’t get enough of them. They look natural so I don’t have to wear mascara… I can wear minimal make up during the summer and feel great!

I found this place while searching on Unilocal and after having a horrible experience with my last hairdresser (I’m talking to you a style concierge) I was soooo glad I came here!
I called and talked with Samantha, 30 mins later I was in her chair. She made me feel very at ease and relaxed, I trusted her. I usually don’t feel that comfortable at a salon the first time, but something told me to trust her, and I did.
She was super nice and talked to me the whole time. I think I trusted her bc her hair was long, like mine and I liked her style.
She knew what she was doing and I got the best hair cut I’ve ever had. About 1.5 inches gone and new layers brought much needed life to my too long distressed hair.
The salon itself is really cute and stylish, cool vibe going on.
I 100% recommend coming here. I’m a fan and will be back soon for color. Hopefully as long as I’m in S. D, Samantha will be doing my hair!

I was told by my friend that I need to come here to get my hair done by Eileen so I booked an appt with her and I am so happy I did. Eileen did an amazing job. She takes her time, pays attention to details and does it right. My hair already had color so I had her blend everything in and tone it down. She also used the new Olaplex treatment on my hair. My hair is feeling and lookin’ brand new again! I haven’t washed my hair in 3 days, lol.
The only thing I did not enjoy was trying to find street parking but there is a parking structure next door where you can pay to park.

I have tried on several occasions to book a simple service at this salon, and succeeded only once. It appears stylists book by appointment, like other salons, however stylist’s hours are sporadic at best. I dont think this is a desirable way to service clientele. However I might not know enough about their business model to judge. Even if one calls several days in advance, the doors might not be open to you. They dont say they are booked, just not taking clients at, say, Wednesday morning. Hmmmm. I hope some improvement takes place for this salon.

I have a major distrust issues in people and am also incredibly indecisive.
Ultimately this makes for terrible haircut experiences, especially when the stylist asks «how do you want it»?
«Uh I dunno, make it shorter?».
With Eileen though I literally asked her, «if i just come in and tell you to do whatever you want and not make it too crazy can you do it?».
Her response: «I gotchu».
And so she did, I came in looking like a cast member from the Planet of the Apes to feeling like Captain Planet. On top of her elite haircut skills she’s super awesome and will talk your ear off if you so choose (and not slice it off with a clipper).
Whether you’re a guy/​girl/​somewhere in between come on in and you will be treated well and coming in looking better than you ever have.

I used to bounce from stylist to stylist every few months. After one haircut with Briana, I was hooked, and have been seeing her regularly for the past 5 years (with many more to come). I’m very particular about my hair, and have never been disappointed by Briana’s work. Also, her business card always seems to disappear from my wallet, because people consistently ask me who does my hair. Briana is truly great at what she does, and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for an excellent stylist. Plus, she’s an awesome, friendly, and hilarious person… what more could you really ask for?

Joy is simply THE BEST if you are looking for a salon where you can get a great red color, this is the place. Adorable shop, friendly stylists. Couldn’t ask for more!

Went to Joy for the first time, based on her reviews here. She really listened to my concerns and did a terrific job. My color (just dark brown) has dimensions and shine. Prices good for good service. Will go back!

Eileen is my hairdresser/​colorist/​extension magic maker! I have super long hair and constantly get compliments on how healthy and shiny my hair is and all thanks to Eileen for treating my hair with extra special care. Not to me mention it always looks amazing and the color she uses is perfect. I have a bunch of friends that go to her as well and she is the master of turning long blonde hair to healthy long blonde hair.

I came to this hair salon while I was working nearby. My coworker recommended this salon and got some 20’s hairstyle done for our company theme party. The hair stylists were so funny that I felt like I just watched an entertainment show. That’s also when I saw Joy’s hair color and I had to come back to get that purple for myself. Joy did a purple that was very trendy at the time yet dark enough that in office setting, it didn’t stand out and I could go to client meetings without any worries. I’ve been doing my hair color only with Joy since then. I think Joy is the best hair stylist for hair colors. Side note: she’s also a hairapist. You just walk out with better mood than you were in before going in for your hair.

I had my first appointment with Briana this Tuesday. She was highly recommended to me by my sis in law so I was expecting her to be good. She was not good, she was absolutely amazing!!! My hair looks perfect! I am a customer for life:)

Joy is ugh-​mazing. I found her though a referral from a friend and was in mid transition to ombré. My hair is very dark, level 4, and I knew it would be a process to get it to the Platinum blonde that I was aiming for. Joy had not only gotten me really close within 3 visits, but she’s saved the integrity of my hair. She’s been very patient with me trying to achieve the exact color I want and has been a great coach along the way. Highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a colorist that is «on point».
Also, recommend the treatments at flirt. When you do any color to your hair, it’s a great thing you can do to make your hair silky and smooth (said like Adam Sandler in the movie WaterBoy).

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I have a lot of very thick hair and it’s also very curly. It’s hard for people to blow dry my hair and I’ve often come out of salons looking like a poodle. Joy did a great job and she did it in record time.
The salon is cute, clean and the rest of the staff seem personable. I will definitely be a return customer.

Wow, such a fun hair appointment! I heard about Joy over having dinner with some lady friends and she made such an impression on them, I had to check her out!
Joy is super quick. She cut my hair so fast, my OCD self unnecessarily had her make extra snips just so I felt better. She’s also super spunky and it was just fun chatting it up.
I’ve been in San Diego for almost 4 years now and think I finally found my go-​to stylist.

5 stars for Joy! I’ve been in SD a year now, and had been struggling to find a new hair colorist/​stylist since leaving Texas. A coworker recommended Joy and the rest is history! I’m naturally a light brunette, she does a GREAT natural looking blonde — I’ve never been happier with my color. She also gave my hair a trim and it looks so much healthier than before.
