Fenton Market Place houses several large businesses including IKEA, Lowes, and CostCo in addition to several smaller business and restaurants. This is the place that EVERYONE in San Diego County visits every now and then, simply because it is the only IKEA in town. We all love cheap furniture and random home accents I guess. It is a bit of a chore to come here, but it is a hard place to avoid. Recommendation: DONOT come here on the weekend if you can at all avoid it. It is just crazy with people! Parking: The developers did a good job having enough parking to accommodate all of these businesses that draw such large numbers of people; however it is a difficult parking lot to get around. This makes for a frustrating overall experience if you are visiting because it the only location of your bank within a 5 mile radius or for groceries and not to make a special trip to the discount furniture store. Location & Décor: This is the typical California style that is spreading the nation I am sad to say. All of the buildings are clad with tons of stucco and stone.

I live pretty close to this place and parking is not that bad. Like every«popular» shopping place(in San Diego) weekends are not the best. When you are in «America’s Finest City» that’s just what you have to deal with BUT you can find parking and plenty of it. There is the ONLY Ikea we have in San Diego located here so naturally everyone that wants Ikea shops at this Ikea. There is a Costco, Lowes, Islands Restaurant, a Sprint store and many places to eat(strip mall type places). There actually is a LOT of parking and it has NEVER filled up 100%, so yeah you may have to walk a little ways but parking is 100% FREE. I would say it is a very busy place at times but a GREAT place to come to and not to be scared away from!
