My husband and I were courteously waited on by a group of women: Maria, Mayra, Silvia and Jackie. They patiently waited as we browsed the menu, jumped on our coffee orders, and quickly put together and cooked up our breakfast bagels consisting of egg whites, bacon, cheddar and avocado. Our bagels were done up beautifully and we can honestly say we have never had a better fast-food breakfast sandwich. My latte was perfect and my husband enjoyed his dark roast coffee. The staff was great and the food matched. The only downside was the lack of a bathroom :-) If you have a chance, check it out

Line was long(7:45 am), but everyone was friendly. They passed out some smoothie samples while we waited in line. Food and coffee was good.

This is not just some persnickety review. The coffee was excellent, ill give them that. However, we ordered 3 bagel breakfast sandwiches, and they got each one of them wrong. I highly suggest the next door Starbucks.

Was running late and needed to stop and pick something up for breakfast in this area, so stopped here for what I thought would be an uneventful bagel trip. Nope. Fortunately, the valet guy at the Hyatt let me park really quick so that I could scoot down the sidewalk to pick up a half dozen bagels and be on my way. The line was awful, but being located right on a hotel property, not surprised so I understood. The service was the worst though. You can tell all the employees were also annoyed by the line and all the people in it. When it was my turn, I asked for clarification on what looked like could be blueberry or chocolate chip bagels, the cashier snapped that they were plain. Not wanting to argue, I sighed, and said fine — please give me half dozen plain bagels. I asked for cream cheese thinking they’d give me schmear container, but instead filled a to-go container with cream cheese. She didn’t ring up the bottled water I was holding and was annoyed with me for that, too. Last but not least, I made a mistake of asking for iced coffee. She gave me a cup of ice and then pointed me to the DIY coffee station. Visitors of San Diego(or residents in a pinch), I know this location is convenient to the hotel and watersports area, but do yourself a favor and wait it out ’til lunch or have some go do a bagel run for you… somewhere else.

Have been back a few times, and of course the location is still great, but the coffee is pretty standard, the line is generally exceptionally long, and it tends to move incredibly slow.

I live in Colorado where Einsteins started and is based, so I am used to a MUCH better experience with Einsteins. I stayed at the Hyatt for five nights and hit this Einsteins 5 to 6 times over the course of my(and my family’s) stay. So my experience was not limited to one time, but many over a few days. Two words — bad management. The management is clearly to blame for the bad staff and lackluster attitude. Plus, they were out of various items over the times I went there. Seemed like every time I went there they ran out of something I would try to order. Which, again, I blame the MANAGER/MANAGEMENT for not properly servicing a very easy store model. The food was about where I would expect, but this is the worst service Einsteins I have ever been to s and not a good way to get the locals to like the brand. Get it together Hyatt or whoever the franchise owner is. It’s a good brand and easy to be good at your job there, Corporate needs to step in on this franchise and get them up to standards or close it down. When I return to Colorado, my experience at this Einsteins may change my choice there. Just the way the bagel crumbles. UPDATE: The last couple days I stayed there I not only received an email from the Hyatt Director, but the staff at the Hyatt franchise of Einsteins had clearly gotten the message I sent and it appeared that there were higher managers there most of the times I visited. They were good a greeting and engaging the customers. They we’re helpful from start to finish. I can appreciate any service company that hears from customers and then looks to see if there is value in their input and actually does something about it. And Einsteins is always solid quality on food and coffee. Nice job Hyatt, please keep it up.

Where do I start, if I could give a 0 star I would. Gave it 2 tries on the same day and it was worse the second time. You would think with all the employees behind the counter they could serve customers faster. They need more registers and someone that knows how to make lattes. Don’t bother if staying at the Hyatt to go their, Would rather get in the car and find a starbucks. It took me 35 minutes to get a latte with 4 people in front of me. No one behind the counter seems to know what they are doing. After I had my bad experience my husband went and it was even worse. They had no coffee sleeves for the hot coffee and it took him 35 minutes with 2 people in front of him to get a coffee. Don’t bother.

Eh, nothing special in a plain bagel so why the three stars? The breakfast bagel sandwiches are totally gross. Don’t order these as the egg is rubbery and the cheese is a total fake. The coffee is ok and you can have free refills if you keep your cup. They have a little shop with other possible supplies you might need which is nice. The people who work here are super friendly.

I’m not really impressed with this place. I went to have a tuna sandwich and at 11:00AM on a Wednesday, they were out of tuna for the sandwich. Ridiculous! The coffee is average and the prices were high for what you get. Must be due to being on the Hyatt property. Unfortunately, there isn’t much around the area, so I was stuck eating there. Won’t go back.

Good food, and employees were delightful. Me and my husband definitely enjoyed a nice breakfast. He LOVES the spinage and bacon egg sandwich on an onion bagel. Very crowed on weekend mornings so make sure to factor your time accordingly. Oh and coffee wasn’t that great. But I still overall give it a 4

The hours are limited(6 am to Noon) but when you need a morning pick up while staying around the Hyatt Mission Bay, this is the place to go. There is a slight premium price due to its location but service is pretty fast, the coffee is good, and the bagels are fresh.

The waterfront location is nice. It is in the mission bay right between Marina Village and the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As I walked in I was greeted by maybe the owner/manager maybe. The front of the store is filled with cased drinks and gifts items. So to order you have to go to the back which is fine. The person that was taking my order was fine and nice. But the person blending my drink took forever then made it to small and had to remake it but then left before making another one for a short period of time. When that person came back to make my order she poured the old one which was now MELTED and just added that to the new one. I didn’t want to complain cause I had my two boys who were already irriatated from the wait. I wanted a bagel but didn’t want to wait for that either. Maybe today was just a bad day but it is a great place to relax. But its your choice to try it out, it won’t hurt I just hope you don’t get the service I did.

This is the worst place ever!!! The bagels ARE a rip off, the employees fight with each other infront of customers constantly and get too angry with customers and the manager Tom doesnt even know how to make sandwiches. He told one of the staff members to just to read the directions on how to make them cuz he didnt know how to make them himself. Plus its all overpriced and the coffee could be better. We had no other choice but to eat here… unfortunately.

The Manager of this Hyatt Einsteins is top-notch — he is deserving of 5 stars. Andy was more than helpful as was the gentleman at the register when I stopped by on Saturday morning. Lack of a restroom and high prices are the reason for 4 versus 5 stars.

This is pretty much the *only* thing in the area in the morning. We went every morning for coffee, which wasn’t too bad. It does get busy since this is the only place. Access is on the harbor area side which was a nice walk in the morning when I was half awake. Slightly on the expensive side, but when you have a near monopoly, that’s the way a business is run.

Hands down biggest bagel rip off ever. $ 4 for a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese should be freakin illegal. Plus the bagel was the size of a thomas’ english muffin! I had no choice but to eat there and it just infuriated me to have to pay their price. Luckily I was sailing that day and 10 minutes later had good crew, full sail and big keel to lift my spirits.

A convenient location steps outside my seaside room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Mission Bay. Sadly, the hours closed at 11am so we weren’t able to get bagels or a sandwich, so no feedback on that. However the staff were very nice, and we did get a pre-packaged salami and cheese to go– it comes with a baguette which was(thankfully!) pointed out to us by the staff. Yum! good even the next day, even though the bread a little less fresh, still tasty. Will definitely try the bagels and sandwiches, once I can get there when they are open!

The most wonderful bagel shop in probably all of San Diego is a little-known secret bagel shop that sits right on the boat docks within steps of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Mission Bay. That would be Einsteins Bagels-who have a nice little niche location that offers the perfect spot to grab a bagel and coffee. When I take what I call my «long bike ride» out to Mission Beach and beyond, I always look forward to stopping here for a quick carbo load. It helps that of all the bagel biz out there, Einsteins-as long as the bagels ARENOT burned-are my absolute favs. They are just the right doughy consistency and are always fresh. I just relish grabbing a bagel with schmear and sitting on the little tables that look over the boat docks. If you are lucky, that loud yapping seal lion that languishes on the bait docks will be barking(I can hear that thing from my place) and sometimes even swimming around. That is one enormous seal-probably eats too many bagel scraps too! Since I am not a big fan of Einsteins coffee, I usually will get a fresh-squeezed juice or that Martinelli’s apple juice in the glass bottle. It’s all good here. For visitors at the Hyatt Regency or across-the-street Dana Inn & Marina, this is a much more economical alternative for breakfast and lunch than that over-priced hotel food. Hint: whenever I come here, I always look to see if I can find a garibaldi fish swimming by along the rocks under the docks. One day when I was admiring a particualarly boldy orange-colored one, a salty old dog fisherman came by and told me that seeing a garabaldi fish is a sign of good luck for the day!
