east buffet for my lunch consistent every visit fast, clean, meals are cheap This place would be pictured next to the word consistent if I could choose a picture as an example for every word in the dictionary… and no examples of chillins running amok always helps. Now if we can just get the chef out of his rut… Apparently, the death knell of the dying restaurant is beginning to toll for East Buffet. It is kind of sad… where else can you find satisfaction for lunch, all you can eat, for $ 8.99? The place is clean, as always. Children who start to become unruly quickly straighten up when they hear a discreet reminder from the hostess that children should be seen, and not heard. I heard this murmured as hostess sat a table of 5, 1 mum and 4 chillins… and that quiet mantra seems to have caught the attention of the mum and the chillins. Were I to be asked to attest to the slow loss of life at East Buffet, the only evidence I am seeing is some of the vegetables on the salad bar are sad looking. Wilted lettuce and spinach, crab salad that needs turning or replacing, and pudding that has not seen a spoon dipped into it since it was put out… sad. Fortunately, the hot choices, though a few less than the regular, are all of acceptable quality and temperature. There are no significant over or underseasoning issues, just fast, forgettable food. It is, for the price, a spot on the list that seems to be slowly drying up… so sad.

Nope. Never going here again went here once when I was small again for my brothers graduation, and this place is still like I remembered: SHIT. the food, the service everything rushed and super salty. Yes even the busser/servers were crap rushing every single 1 of my family member to hurry up and eat.

Closed? Used to love coming here but they have been making a lot of changes to the food recently. The beef and noodles were not the same as before. Now at 1 pm on Friday we pull up and the door are shut and the blinds were closed. Walked up and confirmed the door was locked. Uh oh.

A little tired buffet place that may have seen better days. Maybe it’s because we went on a random Tuesday night. Food was so so and didn’t really remember much. Staff was tired and looked bored.

They only have 2.5 stars. What more can I say than it’s cheap food if you’re craving Chinese but don’t expect quality. The crab legs didn’t even have any meat in them. I’d rather eat at Panda Express.

This place is disgusting. I do not recommend anyone coming here to waste their money on food that tastes and looks like it’ll give you food poisoning. East buffet used to be super crowded back with the old management when the food was actually good. Now, the food is disgusting. Disgusting doesn’t even portray how bad the food is! I came here on a Saturday night and it was SO not worth it to pay $ 15 for shitty food. Clams, oysters, and crab legs takes about one hour for them to bring out while it runs out within 5 minutes. All of the other food looked and tasted like they overheated it for weeks. I only felt safe eating the fruits there. I took a bite on a lot of the other food and had to spit it out because it tasted so bad. There are flies everywhere and service is terrible too. PLEASEDON’T COMEHERE!!!

Came here today with high hopes. I had been here twice before and the food was pretty decent. I liked that they had sashimi. I took my boyfriend here and man was I disappointed. The food inside the trays were all half empty and looked as if they had been left over night. Literally. Maybe even out a couple days, that bad. I’m not the most picky person at buffets because it is what it is — but I could not decide on anything that I had put on my playe that was even half decent. Rice was hard, mongolian beef(what was left of it) was hard and the spicy crab roll I had tasted the worst out of all of it. :-(The mayonaise was either too strong in it or it was left out there unreferigerated. We left after 10 minutes of attempting to eat the food. It came out to $ 24 I think & I better think twice before ever coming to another asian buffet.

It was one of the few buffet that opens earlier than 11 o’clock. Weekday lunch is only $ 8.99 and I get to stuff my face for two meals. They still have baked clams and steamed fish and many meat dishes if you are a carnival. As a vegetarian I enjoy the honey glazed eggplant, greens, shiitaki mushrooms, soy honey button mushroom, chinese seaweed salad very much. They also have the standard four kinds of soup: miso, hot and sour, egg drop and wonton. a sushi station as well as a mongolian grill station cooked to order. This place also has a full bar license. Keep it up!

San Diego is lacking when it comes to authentic Chinese food and the quality of the Mexican food in Tijuana was dubious so it was skipped. The few restaurants on Convoy Street in Clairemont Mesa were jam-packed, limited in selection, and a bit on the expensive side. It was already 8 pm, before the 100-mile road trip back to home. Where else to dine on the cheap in an unfamiliar city? The solution: the nearest buffet. This is just your average podunk American Chinese buffet with standard American deep fried fare, Mongolian BBQ, and terrible dim sum and sushi, offering mass quantities of gloppy foods at a fairly good deal. Plentiful oysters as well. It seemed to have many Vietnamese-speaking immigrant families. Regarding service, the server was attentive at least with clearing of plates and the refills.

Don’t waste your time and money. This is the worst«buffet» restaurant of this type that I have ever been. Many items I tried were either over cooked and/or too salty. All or most food items were prepared with bottom quality«so-called» seafood. Fried crabs meat was soggy and had ammonia flavor indicating crab meat had been spoiled before they were cooked. Even fresh fruit items were of bottom quality. You can tell by looking at them.

AYCE Chinese, but better than most. I’m giving East Buffet 4 stars because I’m comparing it to the other AYCE Chinese buffets out there. –Your usual spread of Chinese food, with the addition of a sushi station and stir fry area. –The food is always fresh and constantly monitored by someone to be refilled. Other places tend to have their food sitting out for a while –Great for big parties! They have a 2 areas that accommodate as much as 100 people. There is a deposit required for large parties. –The service is so-so, but I’ve never had a problem with it… so far. If there’s one small complaint, it would be getting refills from the waiters. The price is fair, and the selection here is good enough to satisfy your Chinese food cravings.

My guilty pleasure. Prior to coming here for dinner, I went on a hike AND went to the gym. This place is pretty much your typical Asian buffet; however, if you stick to the crab legs and crawfish, you are eating good stuff at a great price. I really like their salt and pepper squid, fried banana, and making chocolate covered strawberries at their chocolate fountain. I always end my face-stuffing session with vanilla soft-serve ice cream with roasted peanuts. As with all cheap buffets, the emphasis is on quantity, not quality. The service is pretty good; plates are cleared out often, and water is kept full. Come hungry, go for the crab legs and crawfish – and you won’t be disappointed.

Let me start by noting that I fully acknowledge the purpose of Chinese food buffets — quick, cheap, AYCE, mass produced Americanized Chinese food. With that being said, this place gets a win in my book. Location is convenient and parking is not a problem since the rest of the large plaza is furniture stores. The prices are great and there’s reasonable discounts for kids and seniors citizens. The place itself is also very clean and nice looking which makes you feel a bit classier while gorging on AYCE dirt cheap food. The food is to be expected and tastes comparable to other buffets. The selection is also pretty good with the standard fare, a little bit of dim sum, Mongolian BBQ grill and sushi. My favorite was the salt and pepper squid and sticky rice. I believe at dinner they have the specialty items such as crab legs. There’s also a lot of seating which makes it a good option for large groups/parties.

Tons of food options, but everything was just okay. I do love how there is sushi, Mongolia BBQ and tons of oriental food. Their dessert was okay. It was mainly fruit, pudding and sweet bread. Just okay.

I cam here for thanksgiving lunch and they were serving dinner the entire day for about 15 dollars. Which includes crablegs, lobsters, and some other items. I was suprised at how the food quality has declined from the last time I was there. The food all look a day old and some even tasted a day old. The chowmein was hard and greasy, and some of the food was stale. I wasnt able to try their mongolian noodle this time around but their noodles are always delicious and filling. Their service is always good and attentive on clearing the dishes before they are piled high. :)

Chinese buffet craving??? This place isn’t the best but I enjoy myself here. I went with a big group and there was a quite of bit of seats for a Sunday lunch. The Mongolian stir fry had no line and tasted very good. Sushi was pretty good but there was one fresh fish(not sashimi) that tasted really spoiled so watch out Rest of hot food was good but ice cream sucks. The machine was all messed up and the ice cream tasted like icy blah slush. Mango gel(?) was pretty good Get —– Mongolian, some sushi, fried chicken, squid, sashimi Avoid — regular noodles, fresh fish, ice cream, walnut shrimp, Pepsi Décor was pretty nice and looks like they have a full bar. Wish they had TVs in the dining area coz there was a charger game but I was able to sneak away to waiting area to find the tv and sadly watch the darn chargers lose again. Finally… Will I drive all the way out here? No but I would come gladly for family gatherings or if I live in Mira mesa I would check it out more.

I came unexpectedly with my bf and my parents. My parents have lunch here everyday! The food is pretty good, but even with the huge variety of items, I still wouldn’t want to come here often. They have mongolian beef and a chocolate fountain! :)

In the realm of Chinese buffets… the competition is fierce… and all in the 2 star level. I have found that when that hankering for a pilled plate of noodles, sushi, 8 different kinds of chicken and something wrapped in bamboo hits me… that this is where I tend to land. Is it GREAT food? No. I wouldn’t even say it is totally good… but it is good enough. For $ 11 the food is tasty, there is a vast selection and I have never gotten sick after eating here . The drink service is always attentive here… and from everything I have seen the place is clean(I have looked, trust me)…and the food is kept fresh. You going to leave feeling full, bloated and wondering why you went back for that last helping of wontons… but those are going to be your only regrets!
