Location: 2020 Twin Oaks Valley Parkway, San Marcos, CA I’m not sure why it’s showing a location in San Diego but they have a yard in San Marcos that fixes up some of these donated cars and flips em’ for cash. Supposedly they sell them to needy families but the car I bought was a piece of junk! I would feel so sorry if some needy family with small children got duped into buying one of their cars because I saw ads on Craigslist. In the past, I bought a car here long time ago. It was a 1990 Dodge Shadow that was abandoned on the 8 freeway and Donation Foundation towed it away. The car was well maintained by the previous owner but I guess it overheated and someone just left it on the side of the freeway. Well, I bought it for $ 750 and continued to maintain it. Recently, however, I been on Craigslist looking for a car and saw some ads from Donation Foundation. They make claims that the cars are running great. Not true! I went to the yard and the mechanic told me that all the cars have leaks and some issues with them. The car I bought, they told me it was running great but just paint job problem. I bought it that night and 2 days later the head gasket blew. I had the car towed back to this place free of charge and was able to get half of my money. I lost $ 470 on this purchase. I bought a lemon and according to the Sheriff I could take them to court for my money back but I didn’t have to time to do it so I settled for at least half of my money. I really needed a car and for 970 dollars you’d expect a car that would last at least 6 months to a year but not 3 days. Not good people. Jim is not a good person. If he was, then he would’ve gave all my money back. He said he doesn’t feel responsible for the problem because the car overheated and this caused the head gasket to blow. On the 2nd day of the purchase, i started to see the temperature gauge going to hot so we(my husband) did fill it up with coolant but that car still overheated and then the engine went out. This is obviously a problem that exist before I purchased it. How are they supposed to know? Well, they have to turn on that dang car don’t they? I’m sure they would notice the empty coolant reservoir wouldn’t they? I’m sure they knew about it but decided to leave it to me to discover. I hope no one ever gets in to this jam like I did. I spent $ 120 in towing that car home after it broke down in the middle of the street. Lost $ 590 all together. I’ll accept the lost this time but I want to warn anyone how might buy cars here or anyone who is donating cars to them because they stick a bandaid on em’ and sell em’ for alot of money. $$$ is their game. Donation? HA! what a disgrace to the name. You are a fraud!
