Allow me to paint a picture for you. My fiancé and I are planning our wedding and deciding on vendors that are going to really showcase the kind of fun-loving, carefree couple we are. Eventually we run into the question of, «Well, should we have a DJ, band, or just throw an iPhone up there and hope it doesn’t skip/receive a text message in the middle of our first dance?» We scoured the internet looking for a DJ and got seriously discouraged. Too cheesy. Too techno-y. Too expensive. Too used car salesman-y. We were just on our way to compromising for Spotify when I mentioned our woes to a friend. She said she had gone to a wedding recently and loved the DJ there – couldn’t say enough good things. She tracked down his number, we called him up, and the rest is history. We got married on March 28th, 2015 at a brewery in Vista with DJ Recit as our DJ/MC and we had literally no hiccups or hitches the entire night. –He’s an extremely personable and friendly guy. He could probably make friends with inanimate objects – he’s that easy to talk to. –He doesn’t demand a lot of information. He sat down with us two months out(we only had a four month engagement) and had us explain the vision we had/what we were hoping for from him. We filled out a sheet of basic information(rough timeline, specific songs we do/don’t want, any ceremony songs, etc.) and sent him on his way. He put everything together and ran it by us a few weeks out so we could make any last minute tweaks. –All our events went SOSMOOTHLY. We didn’t have a coordinator/planner aside from ourselves and our parents, so it was key that DJ Recit knew exactly what was expected of him. There were no down moments, no awkward pauses, no fixing of equipment, no wrong songs playing, no uncomfortable DJ «small talk” – he ran through all of our events and did just enough casual fun transitions to make it comfortable. –He was reasonably priced, which is a complete shocker based on looking at what DJs charge these days. I had people quoting me thousands of dollars for a 4 hour gig and acting like I was getting a deal. No thanks. –Lastly, he was fun! You don’t want someone up there thinks they’re the next Deadmau5 when they aren’t, but you also don’t want someone up there who just runs through songs like a drill sergeant. DJ Recit is a great mix of serious and fun-loving. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family, and I already have :)
