New owner just can’t get it together to even open. Sad to see Nora gone. Used to be go-to for breakfast and lunch.

Is this place even open anymore? I called several times and even drove over there and the door was locked and the lights were off at 9am…

This place used to be great, but I think a new owner took over? She’s nice(a little too talkative sometimes), but the quality of the food and the service has really taken a nosedive. Also the hours seem to be dependent on her mood? I’d like to order more, but more often than not they are closed or not open for delivery. I hope the new owner can get their act together soon otherwise I don’t see this place even being around in 2016 which would be a shame because the food was really great.

Go figure. Real food made by real people! Surprisingly good spot. Very informal with very reasonable prices. Zero on atmosphere but hey, who’s looking?

I have worked on Camino Del Rio South for about 4 years. This Unilocal review was way over due. Nora the owner is great she has has catered food for me in the past for events and is always helpful and such a joy to see. Considering that there is nothing else but Judy’s Café, Wendy’s and Bully’s Steakhouse on our street my go to is always Del Rio Café. The food is always good, fresh, and fulfilling.

For not being Latino(Nora:owner) is fantastic and and extremely beautiful person. She is extremely friendly and caring for her customers 100%. I was one of the first honest customers to compel everyone to come here while in school. Yes she gives students 10%off! I have spent hundreds and hundreds here. During college I spent one day a week coming here for 2 years straight eating lunch and dessert. Currently with the new job I only stop here when in the area to support my favorite deli/café. Nora has staffed some really great cooks/managers that are of Latin decent and the food shows it when choosing a Mexican entrée. Extremely fresh and always delicious. The Acai Bowls that Nora makes is hands down the best in San Diego. No blender juices or concentrates, this stuff is the real deal sorbet. Absolutely fantastic and life changing. Strawberries banana coconut and granola… DROOLING! For the very few minuscule low star Unilocalers that rate this place on location, that they need to drive up a hill, have to walk into a deli, for not offering free delivery out of there area(which needs gas and insurance and a vehicle) or strictly can’t afford her fabulous café, GOCRYME A RIVERANDGROWUP. THISPLACEDESERVES10STARS Keep up the fantastic work and great attitude that is contagious Nora!

Went to do the TSA Precheck and showed up way earlier than my appointment and decided to grab a bite to eat. The woman behind the register is super friendly and very sociable! She offered some good suggestions and I took a couple of them. I got an Acai bowl with a veggie sandwich and both were on point. Good food and an ok price I think

For a tiny deli they have great selections on their menu. It is very convenient being right next to TSA office which we had an appointment to. We didn’t have to go far to get a great sandwich. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken hot sandwich on sourdough and my husband ordered the Spicy Tuna Sandwich which is also a hot sandwich. They were both delicious and filling. The girl behind the counter very friendly and sweet. So, if you’re going to the TSA office and need to grab a bite, look no further than next door.

Food is good. Delivery is always about 30 – 45 minutes and about 30% of the time they forget something in my order. The guacamole is not all that great, so I suggest you ask for avocado slices instead.

I love it when I stumble upon a small café and it happens to be amazing. I came here on lunch break and I was starving and I love both sandwiches and Mexican food so I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich and a reuben and they were both delicious! I can’t wait to come back to try the Acai. Someone next to me was eating it and she seemed to be very happy with the flavors. I could tell by the fact she was devouring it! I could smell the carne asada cooking in the back and it both smelled and looked really tasty. Next time I’m coming back for the out of control burrito which is carne asada mixed with chorizo which is another favorite of mine. Big props to Del Rio for doing my sandwich and Mexican food just right… and offering healthy Acai too:-)

For an office café this place is alright. Beans and guac are good but the carne asada tasted dry but still super oily.

I really like how Unilocal helps you find weird little cafes in office buildings that 10 years ago you would never find. I got an espresso on ice… coffee is good quality… no burnt taste which is my coffee peeve. Fries were hot fresh crispy and delish… not too salty… they’re on the thin side I would say slightly thinner than MacDees but still have good crunch mush so don’t think shoestring. Possibly my only complaint was they’re either using Kraft or Restaurant Depot mayo… just get Best Foods it’s light years above the competition. I got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich… added avocado… which was nice and ripe… the chicken was fresh grilled so nice and hot, not too dry not too wet, just juicy… a very good fresh sandwich. The pickle on the side is also well above par. My roomie got the chicken Greek wrap. I would say the same descriptions apply. Fresh nice ingredients. Very good. I took a bite then kinda did an entire row lawnmower move… it only counts as one bite. Both the wrap and the sandwich were quite large. I finished the sandwich and about half the fries and I’m pretty much in a food coma. The fries are cheap and the portion is about a MacDees medium. Norah(sp?) is beautiful and her personality really makes for a nice customer experience.

Food was amazing! Did not expect Mexican food to be this good that wasn’t made at home! Nora was very kind and super friendly! I will go out of my way now to come eat here, it’s a shame it’s tucked away in a business complex but if you love Mexican food and a deli it is worth coming up here and getting some food. If your in the area so worth it!

I love breakfast burritos and I don’t think you can find to many better than this, especially in an office building. This place is legit and when a hungry chiropractor has a craving I’m lucky they are so close. Also it doesn’t hurt that the people there are sooooo nice!!!

First, i do not Unilocal at all because I don’t think reviews or ratings ever reflect the business. But today I am very compelled. I have ordered delivery here on and off for the past two years with no major complaints the food is decent and service fluctuates. I’m a manager of a restaurant myself so I understand fluctuation of service. But today was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. So overall I DONOTRECOOMEND buying food from poor quality people. I’d rather get poor quality food from good quality people. PI called in and ordered with a friend, we were starving. The lady just answered the phone like a jerk would answer his or her personal cell phone by shouting out here name. We ordered excitingly, then she angrily and lazily passed the phone to someone else without any direction. The gentlemen, if you could call a very unmannered person that, answered the phone saying, «what am I taking down your credit card or something.» But I understand sometimes communication lacks so I gave him all my info and told him cash. He then proceeds to say, «Where is that at?» In regards to my address very impolitely. I tell him in North Park(off Texas very close by) you have delivered here before to many of my neighbors and I, because I recommend your food for delivery. Then he say laughingly, «oh sorry BRO we just focus on delivery to our block, yeah sorry BRO.» How insane to only deliver to your block, they aren’t on bicycles. And I understand if there may be a new policy, the demographic in North Park might not be worth it. But he doesn’t offer me to pick it up instead? I have spent a few hundreds of dollars here over the past two years. And I am very serious when you break a good relationship with a customer. I work in the industry my word on restaurants can be like wildfire with recommendations or bad mouthing. I am also very understanding and easy to please. But how horrible to handle a loyal customer and fellow industry person like this. Shame on you del rio café, if the local businesses on camino del rio weren’t so hungry, I don’t think you’d make it for a second anywhere else. But if you would like to succeed, find some better mannered employees fast with better attitudes, who can resolve customer issues better. We are in the industry to serve people not be entirely rude jerks to one another.

Great little deli that has deli and mexican food. It’s basicly a full restaurant. They even have ACAI. Unfortunately, it’s tucked into an office building in the middle of nowhere in Mission Valley. You have to go up a giant ramp just to get there, but it’s worth it. They also make a great latte. Check this place out if you work off Camino Del Rio South.

I work in the same building as the Café and have been through 3 owners. The quality of the food and the cleanliness of the business has improved greatly under the current ownership. I frequent the Café on a daily bases now and enjoy the food and the people working there.

Wow, this place is totally awesome. A beautiful lady with a great smile to serve you as you there. First time, I ate there, I had the«Out of Control» burrito. Omg, it was huge and tasted amazing. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, yes it did. I love breakfast burrito’s and I have had breakfast burritos from different places. and I had my first breakfast burrito at Del Rio Dell. I tell, nothing I have had before could even compare. Wow, they’ve got the best tasting breakfast burritos ever. Simply the best. I had the Ultimate Burrito, by far they make the best burritos ever. It was so good, it was simply bananas. And yes it was huge. so you do get a bang for your dollars. I think the chef lady is the chef of the year. The service was excellent and the prices are great. I’m a creature of habit, so once I found something great, I stick to it and now I’m addicted to the great tasting breakfasts and lunches at Del Rio Dell. A+ all the way and definitely most recommended. tHE BESTDELLIINSANDIEGO. AWESOME.

Although I’ve been working in the area for about four months now, this was my first time trying Del Rio Deli. I was on dog babysitting duty at the office, so I couldn’t drive somewhere to get lunch. So, I leashed up Prince Charles of Norris and we ventured to Del Rio Deli, about two blocks away. The location is weird — you have to go up a super steep(for a dog and person walking) hill, and then walk through a parking structure, and you’ll see some tables and chairs, that’s it! I tried the bean and cheese burrito, with guacamole. The guacamole was exceptional. It had chopped red onion and tomato added — not in the«all filler» way, but in the flavor enhancement way. Just the right ratio. The burrito overall was a better-than-average bean and cheese. The green sauce was great, I didn’t care for the red sauce. It was too tomato-y or something. They serve every kind of breakfast burrito and bowl you can imagine, all day. Plus, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches of every variety, burrito bowls, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, salads, fruit salad, acai bowls, and french fries! Most everything is in the $ 4 – 7 range. With so much stuff to try, I’ll definitely be back. And, now that I have a to-go menu, I will be ordering and having it delivered to my office(free!) instead of walking up that got-dang hill. Nachos…delivered…at work… man, I can’t wait! The owner was very nice and friendly, she said she just got the place a few months ago and wants her customers to be happy and so far everything is good. Support this place! They’ll customize anything however you want, and truly want to make the customers happy.
