I’ve done business with Datel Systems twice in the last four years or so and, both times, they’ve left me very happy with their service. This is a computer repair place that covers the needs of all kinds of customers, whether small businesses needing to expand or someone needing help piecing together a high-​powered gaming computer.
Both times I worked with them, I had them help me put together a gaming rig for my own personal use. Their staff are pretty well-​versed and very friendly. They’re awesome about walking me through everything and covering, in detail, each part to go into the build. They also do a pretty good job sticking to a schedule or time table, if they set one for you.
The one, albeit small, drawback is that they’re not always the cheapest deal in town. Of course, if you know what you’re doing, you’re better off ordering your parts from a site like NewEgg and doing it yourself. However, if you have a bit of money to work with and want some expertise, these guys are great.

Another fantastic dealing with Datel. My four-​year old Dell machine had a major motherboard dysfunction in late 2014. It was really bad, totally unexpected and probably a fluke. So I brought it to Datel and they tried very hard to repair it but to no avail — it was a goner. Then they looked everywhere online for this exact motherboard so they could order it and install it, but Dell stops making them every few years, so it was impossible to find.
I don’t recall paying anything for work they couldn’t do. Then, I spent two months reviewing a seller of this exact motherboard on eBay. He only sells refurbished boards and Datel warned me about trying a refurbished board. However, this seller had lots of excellent reviews so I bought one. It was my last hope.
I brought the motherboard and the Dell back to Datel, and they happily installed the refurbished motherboard AND ran lots of Windows updates for me, since the machine had been unused for about three months. Everything is working great. It’s now a back-​up machine for me. Today I am bringing them some other equipment to have it recycled and to have some hard drives removed.
These are really wonderful people. Thank you Datel for charging me only $ 80 for this entire story. (Motherboard was $ 39 at eBay and works great.) I am a very, very happy client.

Several years back I bought several high performance computers from Datel. A couple of years back one of the hard drives failed. We took it in for repair and the hard drive was covered under warranty. However, we could not get credit for the replacement without Datel sending it back to the manufacturer for inspection. They sent the hard drive off and about two weeks passed without an answer. Needing the computer back ASAP, we elected to just pay for a replacement. We never did get credit for the hard drive.
Fast forward to about 5 weeks ago, we, again, had a failure on the hard drive for this same computer. We took it in for repair. The power supply was bad too and they couldn’t test the hard drive until they got a new power supply. They ordered the new power supply, which took more than a week to receive. However, they had ordered the wrong power supply. They had to send it back and get a new one. This took another week and a half. Once they got the power supply installed, they found that the hard drive was bad. Good news, it’s under warranty. But, they had to send it to the manufacturer for evaluation before the hard drive would be covered by the warranty.
We are now 5 weeks in and still don’t have the computer back. The technician is telling us that the manufacturer is disputing the warranty claim and he’s in the middle of discussions with them. I gave up. We elected to pay for a new hard drive, warranty or not, just to get our computer back. Of course, it still takes several days for them to finish the repair. Did they ever hear about overnight mail?
My opinion, they don’t give a damn about your business, so long as they can milk your repairs, they’re going to get what they can out of it. I will never do business with this crew again.
