Crystal Palace Banquet Hall

Awesome venue! I was there for a crab feed fundraiser and the staff made this such a fantastic experience. Highly recommend this for any of your party needs!

Where do I start? First, I’ll start by saying that picking Crystal Palace as the venue for our wedding was the BEST decision we made during our planning process. I’m not going to leave a lengthy review that will get lost in the mix, but instead, I’ll leave the reasons why my husband (wow, that’s the first time I typed that) and I are completely satisfied with Crystal Palace as our wedding venue and by Roger Chan and Serina Chan, the amazing sibling duo that made our day so memorable.
1. Let’s face it, SD has a lack of stellar Chinese restaurants. I visited Emerald, Jasmine, Chin’s and China Max to inquire about their Chinese banquets. Neither the venue nor the menu impressed me. Then I found Crystal Palace and made an appointment to meet with Roger. Crystal Palace is like a beautiful cocoon that looks pretty ordinary in the day time, but completely transforms into one of the most beautiful Chinese restaurants that hosts weddings. Why? Because everything is customized. Which leads me to #2… Serina.
2. You get a wedding coordinator when you book a wedding there. And not only a wedding coordinator, but an amazingly detail-​oriented, helpful, and professional one. Serina has been awesome since the first day we met her. She takes copious notes on what you like and offers excellent suggestions on everything décor related, signature cocktails, etc, etc. I told Serina that we didn’t have the biggest budget for our wedding and she told me a lot of money saving tips like DIY centerpieces, hooked us up with their bakery vendor (Chinese bakery) for the most delicious, beautiful and probably least expensive wedding cake you’ve ever seen. One of my wedding guests actually asked if it was real. Haha. Yes it sure was.
3. BYOB. Being able to bring our own booze and mixers allowed us to save a ton of money. As we found out on our wedding day last Saturday, our friends are party animals. BYOB, as much as you want, but you just have to hire their bartender (or 2, depending on how many guests you have) for a reasonable fee.
4. Roger is the man who takes care of logistics at Crystal Palace. He will be your first point of contact and has been helpful with menu selection, audio-​visual stuff (sound, lighting, etc) and making sure you get everything you need for your wedding. Roger and Serina kept everything on schedule for our very jam-​packed wedding (8 speeches, one improptu singing performance, etc). We really appreciate how smoothly everything went and the final décor was even better than we could’ve imagined! Will post photos once i get them.
5. The food. We wanted to have a Chinese banquet menu for our wedding not only because we’re Asian and love Chinese food, but we also love variety. With 10 courses served, the food never gets boring!
I don’t think we could have had a 171 guest wedding at any other venue that would’ve allowed us to be so creative with adding personal touches to our special day. Truly, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Roger, Serina and everyone at Crystal Palace. This is a family run business and they all put so much dedication into their work and it definitely shows.
On behalf of my new husband, our family and friends, we want to thank Crystal Palace for being amazing hosts for our wedding and helping us go down in the history books amongst our family and friends as having the most fun wedding! :D Cheers!

Went here for a wedding recently… I was blown away how beautiful this venue was. I love how beautiful this venue was with all crystal chandeliers and especially the main dance floor have a magnificent crystal chandeliers. This place is very modern and pretty. Menu was awesome! We had 10 course Chinese style dishes with walnut shrimps, streamed sea bass, shrimp stuffed crab claws etc. Their food presentations was top notch similar to a hotel banquet hall styles. Their servers were very professional and punctual!
The band music was great! What I love about this restaurant is that they have a nicely well stock up bar away from the guest tables. I like it that it was easy access and it wasn’t like in the middle of the restaurant and it was more on the other side of the restaurant. You can hang out at the bar while chatting away with your drunk friends lol
Surprisingly to say. …I will be getting marry here in 2 weeks! I’m glad that I have witness numerous weddings here. I’m happy to see many different wedding décor designs and flowers arrangements and backdrops! This place is gorgeous with décor or without. You can’t go wrong with this venue. They have awesome led uplightings and of course their crystal chandeliers!

Went here for a wedding party on a Saturday night. This place is probably in one of the worst neighborhoods ever. It use to be Lucky Star which closed because the food they served made everyone at my friends wedding get food poisoning.
Some time later… Crystal Palace. It’s more new and modern. Very very clean!
Fried rice was okay. The lobster was delicious. Only one entrance to get in so it gets hectic when there’s huge parties. There’s lots of parking because of the other businesses.

I don’t really write reviews but I had to for this restaurant!
First off, lobster salad was out of this world!
I attended a wedding reception at this banquet hall a few weeks ago. Menu was pretty typical standard 10 course chinese style with Peking duck, walnut shrimp, lobster in ginger sauce, steamed sea bass, shrimp stuffed crab claws, etc… The only different thing was the lobster salad. Omg it was like nothing I have ever had before. A bunch of veggies that had a awesome crunch to it, and these chewy Crystal clear noodles. I just wish I knew how to replicate that damn salad!
Also cocktail hour appetizer’s were so so yummy! Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were devine and the Panko crusted shrimp was crispy and hot.
The staff was friendly and super helpful explaining the menu to the (American) guest.
Bar area was backed up defiantly at times but I think they should have had more than 2 bartenders for 400+ guest.
The venue was decorated beautifully beyond words

Wow what a wonderful banquet hall!!! I have had a chance to go to a wedding here and it was unbelievable. The food was so impressive at 10 courses. My favorite by far was the lobster in house sauce, honey walnut shrimp, and the stuffed crab claws.
The décor really blew my mind. The venue was draped with white drapery and the huge chandelier was so pretty.
The bride told me they do all the décor in house and it was so convient because she did not have to stress about working with many different vendors.
My only gripe with this place was that the bar area was super backed up and they defiantly needed more bartenders (or maybe my friends like to drink a lot). LOL.
Regardless, I highly reckoned Crystal Palace Banquet Hall!!!

This place used to be Lucky Star and has the same kind of food served (Chinese). I attended a wedding here over the weekend and thought the décor was very beautiful! The food, however, was not that great. First of all, the plates were so dirty! Everyone had to clean them before we started eating…
At a typical Asian wedding, there will be a 10 course meal, so we had the cold meat platter, crab meat with asparagus soup, fried shrimp rolls, honey walnut shrimp, braised bai ling mushrooms with seasonal vegetables, Peking duck, salt and pepper lobster, sweet and sour fried fish, Yang Chow fried rice, and taro with coconut milk with tapioca pearls.
Some of the entrees were served in a different order and there was a lot of waiting between each dish. The Peking duck was my favorite course that night. The bao was fluffy and hot and the duck had a lot of tender meat with thin slices of skin. Everything else I tried was lacking in flavor and was not seasoned very well.
I’m not sure how the food is like on a regular day, but I hope I don’t have to attend another wedding or special event here lol!

I don’t even know where to begin. Our wedding was probably one of the more complicated ones that they’ve probably had to deal with in terms on complexity of design and execution. We first made contact with Roger and we got our date set pretty easily with a deposit.
We meet Serina who is Roger’s sister, a talented detail oriented in house event planner that is more than anyone could ever ask for. When faced with adversity, she helped us through planning our event and and kept her cool.
I was so worried that things weren’t going to go smoothly but the tandem kept the show running so smoothly that our guests commented on how well it was executed.
Our wedding was a 1920s gatsby theme in Paris with over 400 guests and they were able to accommodate all of them, serve a ten course meal, decorate the entire place, have a live band, DJ, dessert station and a bar area with two bartenders, security and much more.
The place looked absolutely magnificent upon entry. I couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else but here.
You will see how hard Serina and Roger work and you will appreciate the effort that they put into your event. Not to mention they can cook different styles of cuisine in their kitchen, are both bartenders, are handy with tools, have awesome decoration tricks and have a list of vendors for all your event needs.

We had the wonderful pleasure of having Crystal Palace host our Wedding Reception back in May. Roger, Serina and their families were extremely accommodating and exceedingly met our EVERY needs and desire! They even gave us suggestion on things we didn’t think about and added in extras once they got a sense of our style.
We would highly recommend Crystal Palace not only for a wedding, but any special event. They will not disappointment, especially on the décor of the restaurant. Crystal Palace is a one-​stop-​shop, who will cater to all your needs/​wants or who will have a solution/​work around to all your questions/​concerns. They are also an extremely thoughtful team, and packed us some food to eat after the wedding, as they knew we would not get to each much during the wedding.
Basically, we could not have asked for a better team and place to have our wedding and lasting memory of the best day of our life together!!!

Where do I start… the dual brother/​sister team of Crystal Palace is nothing short of amazing! Roger is the talented, quick and savvy venue coordinating guy. Serina, the beautiful, talented, genuinely kind décor and everything else coordinator was my wedding magician! Together they made magic happened!!! Everything that we could have asked for and more they delivered a step above. I could have not asked for a better experience and I truly love these two for making my dream wedding day come true! I highly recommend this venue, and if you’re planning any event, this place needs to be it!

Start with the fact that the Hall is absolutely beautiful. Sarina and her family are absolutely amazing !!! We celebrated our baby’s 1^st BDay there on July 31^st. We arranged to come in and set up most of decorations few day in advance and it took us almost 4 hours she never rushed us or asked to comeback to finish up. Sarina helped us with absolutely everything !!! She helped us even with things she absolutely didn’t have to (we were running late on the day off the party and she was helping me and my sister decorate and balloons) and this is just one example of many situations where she went above and beyond. Thank you Sarina to you and your family for helping us to put together Edward’s 1s Birthday.
We will be celebrating many more occasions at your hall.

I had my graduation party at Crystal Palace and it was amazing! The owners are extremely nice and so accomodating and they threw in a bunch of nice touches (free of charge!) to make sure my special night was extra special. Food was above average as far as catering goes. The venue is incredibly beautiful and all my friends and family were impressed. I don’t have any criticisms to give to this venue and I hope that many people will consider hosting events here in the future.
Also, they are great with ethnic events (my graduation party had many Indian guests)

I would recommend Crystal palace to anyone as it is a great venue to host your next event. Being in the industry myself (candy wholesaler, CANDY PROS in national city) I have been to many event spaces through the years. This banquet hall prides itself on throwing a memorable event and really caters to their clientele.
The management is so easy to work with and they seem to really care about each and everyone of their clients. All of my customers have nothing but rave reviews. We give a lot of recommendations for venues and crystal palace is the one we always say try first knowing the client will have a 5 star experience.
I had the pleasure of attending a party their a month ago and it was amazing !! Such a blast and well put together
I know they also cater to all ethnicity events and know many caterers to suit your needs as well so it’s an all in one experience

I recently had my daughter’s graduation party at this place. The manager, Roger, was every nice and accommodating. The hall was very nice. It has a nice dressing room near the stage. Food was good. They had very nice staffs and provided excellent service. There was plenty of parkings for everyone too.
I highly recommend this place for your next event.

Came here for one of my girlfriend’s graduation party. The place itself is reallly nice and spacious. Love how they decorate and set-​up everything.
My biggest gripe about this place was the food. The Chinese food they served was just awful. It’s definitely not the best place to go to for Chinese food, but as a venue for parties/​receptions/​what have you, then hell yes it’s great!
Surrounding area doesn’t seem that great — it’s right next to a supermarket. Nonetheless, it’s a great venue. I just really would not recommend the food.

This banquet hall was gorgeous and the service was top notch. I totally felt like I walked into a wedding.
The venue has tons of parking, which a lot of other places lack. The décor is crystals galore and it was perfect setting for the festive evening.

We rented this venue, without the food option, for a birthday party. They let you cater in whatever food or catering company you choose. We did use some of their other services, though, like up lighting, drapery, and a candy and dessert station. The Candy bar was nicely designed with gold trim. The dessert station had a white chocolate fountain with all the fixings and mini crème brûlée, cheesecake, key lime pies, tiramisu, and a lot of other mini dessert goodies.
The main room has a huge dance floor which kept our guests dancing for hours. I have to say the place is pretty nice. Kudos to the venue for providing us with excellent service and great desserts!
Also, they have a huge parking lot which was a total bonus.

My best buddy got married here on 1÷16÷2015. I thought it was odd going to a wedding on a Friday but I guess this place gives good deals for non Saturday events.
The ceremony and reception were both in the main room. They switched up the décor during the cocktail hour. I was impressed it looked like my buddy spent a good amount of money for the décor.
As for the food… I am allergic to shrimp and that is what they gave me to eat! Agh thank god my date wasn’t and switched me her chicken. The chicken was cooked well in some herb cream sauce the rice was just white rice though. I wish it was fried rice. Very good ending to a nice wedding but it ended pretty early.

Just booked my parents 50^th anniversary party here. Most of my family live in sd so they knew of the spot. Fyi They are not a full time restaurant just event banquet center. Paid about 60 bucks per person (including tax and t tip) for lots of yummy chinese 10 course meal a really good deal! We actually tried the whole entire meal and loved all of it except for the red bean
Dessert. Not my fav so we changed to fruit option instead. They offer decoration packages that were really reasonably priced so we did not have to hire a event planner. My mom wanted to go with ivory colors and the banquet center did a mock table for us. Loved that!!!

What an unexpected gem! Do not let the exterior fool you as the interior is absolutely stunning. There is plenty of parking. I was invited to a New Year’s Eve bash and did not know what to expect. There are over 100 people at this party and it was all set up beautifully with amazing lighting. The tae settings were nice and the venue itself was extremely spacious for guests.
The food was amazing and the servers were pretty good and definitely kept my setting cleared and were super attentive. The salmon with the cream sauce was really good. But the red rice was the best I never had. Never had rice that taste like that before. The walnut cake was to die for !
So the food was on point however the entertainment was my favorite part of the entire night. Their were Brazilian and belly dance performers. It was so much fun that we stayed there till 3am. Started off nye right ! I highly recommend this venue for parties.

I recently attended a wedding here and didn’t know what to expect at first. The area surrounding the building isn’t very impressive, but once we stepped inside for the wedding reception… the place was beautiful and spacious!
My favorite part was the food though. It was a Chinese wedding and there was so much amazing dishes that came flying out of the kitchen. It felt like the courses were never ending. There’s a good sized dance floor and also bar area on the side. Me oils definitely recommend this spot for parties and weddings.
