I would rate this as minus 10 stars if it were a choice. Four years ago I was forced to stop working due to numerous orthopedic issues. I applied for Social Security Disability benefits and naturally I was denied. Probably because I had already worked for over 30 yrs, the last 10 with a metal plate and 6 inch rods in my back, a 4 level neck fusion, another plate in my right arm and 2 numb feet due to a cyst on my spine. (I need to keep going until I drop or have a serious car accident and injure/​kill other people – right?) Now if I were some foreigner who never paid a penny of taxes and didn’t speak English I would’ve been granted benefits immediately, since that would qualify under Soc. Sec. standards. I contacted the @ssholes at BOA for a loan modification on my mortgage and they insisted that I go to credit counseling first. Guess what the idiots at this charlatan of a loan counseling service told me to do? File Bankruptcy!!! That’s the worst «advice» I’ve ever heard of, not to mention a total waste of time and inconvenience for me, being disabled in the first place to have to go to their office and hear such stupidity from a complete moron. Instead I hired Binder & Binder attorney services and within 6 months my Social Security was approved and I then refinanced my home with a reputable lender – Wells Fargo and haven’t had a problem since.
