No consistency in the food they make. They claim they deliver yet every time I request delivery, they say they’re not delivering. With all the great food in this neighborhood I would be hesitant to turn away a customer bc you don’t want to deliver. Luckily Bronx Pizza is within walking distance!

Ciro’s seems to be destination to go to after you have been drinking at the clubs. It is very convenient especially if you have been partying at Eden. My friends and I stumbled our way to Ciro’s where their pizza was calling our name. There were many varieties of pizza to choose from in their glass display case out front. We chose several slices and requested these slices to go. The staff was very obliging to our requests and really did a great job packing the pizzas. The best thing was the fact that they reheated the pizzas. The pizza was pretty good, especially to sober up.

Complete disappointment even with a UT deal! Spent only $ 12.50 total for a ham and pineapple calzone, an Italian stromboli, and six garlic knots. The best part about the food was the garlic knots which were sitting in the glass case when we walked in. After trying to get food from Ciro’s two days in a row(they were closed on MLK day and apparently close at 7 pm on weekdays now), we finally we able to order food before closing time. Not only was the girl on the phone extremely rude, but put me on hold for 5 mins with the music blaring in the background. After I’d ordered(long pauses in the order when she didn’t acknowledge my talking) the whole thing she asked if I had a coupon; when I said I did, she said, «You know that’s dine-in only, right?» Well, no, I didn’t know that, since I asked for carry-out at the beginning of the order and nowhere on the coupon does it say anything about dine-in only. I mentioned this last point: «It doesn’t say dine-in only on the coupon.» Rude silence. I said, «It’s dine-in only?» Rudely, she answered, «Yeah.» Not«yes sir,» or «yeah, sorry about that,» but«yeah.» When we arrived, there was only one table of customers in the place(Wednesday night 6:45). The girl took at least 10 mins to get the food ready with no smile or courtesy at all. She said that we should have dined in, but since they would be closing at 7 pm(still 15 minutes away), we could just take the food to go. After the long wait, we took our food hoping that the horrible service and hours would make the food worth all the trouble. Nope! Even with 50% off, it was a rip-off. She screwed up the order — put the stromboli filling we’d ordered into the calzone and vice versa. She didn’t provide any marinara sauce at all, for a calzone, stromboli, and order of 6 garlic knots. The stromboli and calzone were each about 50% plain dough. Someone obviously does NOT care about this place. The food was not good and a complete reflection of the disinterest of the people working there. It is too bad because the hoagies and cheesesteaks at the Ciro’s in PB are awesome. But I’m not even going to be eating at the PB location anymore after this experience The woman working there should be fired immediately, but it’s hard to think the owner cares if he’s employing a person like this(I mean, seriously, we’re at like 10% unemployment and this is who they’re paying). Don’t waste your time here, go somewhere else in Hillcrest that gives a damn.

No. Just no. I’ve been to the Ciro’s in PB and i thought it was pretty good, even though my boyfriend didn’t. The pizza selection was great there and everything looked full and fresh. I expected to see the same thing here, but to my surprise there were only three half full pizzas to choose from. I could either pick pepperoni and invisible cheese, something else that looked like spinach and tomato?, and pepperoni and sausage with invisible cheese. I’m assuming there wasn’t that great of a selection because the girl was enjoying a few slices of her own. So gross. She didn’t even wash her nasty hands to grab my slices. I had to walk in and greet her and when I did she didn’t even say anything back. Total bitch and was even dressed inappropriately. She then heated up my slices in the oven and asked if I wanted it to-go. I said yes and she stacked my pizza on top of each other with a paper plate separating them. That caused my cheese-less pepperoni pizza to completely stick on top of the plate. I was so pissed! Lastly this place is so freaking bootleg they don’t even have pens! I had to sign with a sharpie! Sorry but their full pizza here will never be worth the 5.50 I paid just for two slices.

The staff earned this place an extra star. The employee working was nice, personable, helpful and fast. The interior of the restaurant was absolutely confusing. We used a Groupon type deal(think it was Sign on SD). It said you had to dine in, but there was nothing but two barstools in the window. There is an open doorway connected to this really trendy and nice lounge. But we were out for a pizza and didn’t feel comfortable sitting in the lounge with our pizza and self-filled fountain drinks, while everyone else in there was dressed up drinking wine/cocktails. A total disconnect!!! On to the food… We got a Buffalo Chicken pizza. It was basically dry dough with cheese cooked into it, a few pieces of chicken and some Frank’s Red Hot squirted on top. Pizza without sauce in the middle isn’t pizza. I feel as though it should have said sauceless or «white» pizza. Then again even white pizza has olive oil between the dough and cheese. The pizza bottom was like a cracker b/c there was no sauce to keep it moist! I’ve had many great Buffalo Chicken Pizzas in my life so I know it could have been good. Most places put regular pizza sauce in it or just use the Franks as the sauce. Even though I only paid $ 10 for this $ 21 pizza, I still felt ripped off.

Love having Ciros in Hillcrest! I work at a neighboring restaurant and it’s nice to take a break from what we serve and order a hot pie for the staff to share. The staff is awesome and super friendly. Its a nice change from the commercial pizza spots.

Theyve got a decent slice for the price. I was told they use all ingredients from scratch, and it definitely tastes like they do just that. Heads workin in there were cool and friendly. Id go back if i wanted to just grab a quick slice or two, but i wouldnt tell anyone to rush there to try the pizza… its good, not great!

My pizza crust was rubbery, it didn’t taste fresh at all, not enough sauce or cheese. I was rather disappointed… again.

I hate to give Ciro’s a bad review, because the downtown location was hands-down the best pizza in the neighborhood. But there is something wrong with the Hillcrest location. It’s good one day(never great), and then the next day it’s like its from a different pizza shop. My last order(one pizza, one stromboli) looked like it was made by someone who never made a pizza before. The amount of cheese to sauce to toppings was all wacky and you couldn;t even pick up a slice without it all falling apart. The boli didn’t even look like a stromboli — much less a Ciro’s stromboli. And they forgot the side of sauce. You’d think Ciro’s would bring their A game to compete with Bronx, but I guess not. The odds used to be 50⁄50 for a good Ciros pizza, but now it’s like a one in four chance that it’ll be like the ones from downtown. I hate to say it, but I’m officially done with Ciros.

If this is in fact the pizza place next to Universal, then I’m all in! How marvelous. For simply being a pizza shop they get at least two stars right out the gate. It was Marisol’s last night and town. She, her brother and I were looking for some quick grub to stifle the hippo’s in our bellies. I suggested Mexican food, but there wasn’t a very strong reaction in the positive light. So now what? Pizza!!! Ohhhh, I love pizza! If I were any kind of food, I’d be pizza. The place is open late(don’t know how late), and the guy behind the counter is super nice. He said hello to us immediately, and«I’ll be right with you.» Came out of his lips as he was throwing a pie in the oven. Politeness is key — another star. Other than that, it’s your regular old pizza… nothing spectacular. Coca-Cola dispenser, red pepper stuffs, mozzarella packets… you know, same old same old :) I’ve got nothing extremely positive to report and nothing negative. This is just a review to say — you’re doing A-okay

Solid pizza joint, no frill’s and some decent pizza by the slice. My little boy and I stopped in for a quick bite. They have a special 2 slices and a soda for $ 6.00 bucks. I went with the Spinach Ricotta and little man had the pepperoni, we sampled each others and liked them both. This is not the best spot in town but it sure satisfied our craving. One good thing is that they take plastic so save your lettuce for other things. But they charge 50. cents per transaction under $ 10.00 bucks

So it’s NYE and my beloved Bronx Pizza is closed. While I shouldn’t begrudge my boys a night on the town, I kinda do. Pizza and pre-drinking is a New Year’s tradition round these parts and I’d really hoped to nosh on some of my personal diet kryptonite, but no love. Anyhoo, because I’m big on the huge thin New York slices and were already too tipsy to drive we went with Ciro’s cause Luigi wasn’t delivering. I ordered a half plain cheese half veggie and a pepperoni. They informed me that it would be about 45min, which is pretty good for NYE and all was good. So the ‘za arrives in less than 45(+1 star) but they’ve screwed up my order and brought me a whole veggie and a whole pepperoni. Now I’d discussed the half cheese thing at length with the girl on the phone, so there was no reason she should have screwed it up, but there it is. Added to this is the fact that it was seriously undercooked. I hate hate HATE soggy gloppy cheese on pizza. It makes me yak and and yet is seriously NOT yakworthy.(- a billion stars). The pepperoni was ok. So anyway, I’m downgrading my stars to two — one for my awesome previous experience and one for the quick delivery service. Remind me to have some serious words with the boys at Bronx ASAP.

Busybusypizzapies… We(Antonio G. and I) discovered this place after a fun-filled shopping spree at a Sassy City Chicks sample sale… and I have to tell ya… I’d come here any day I was feeling like having pizza out of the ordinary. JALAPENOS on a pepperoni slice? whaaaaaaaaaat? Ricotta & Pesto? Garlic Knots that don’t make me sick like the ones from Manhattan??? delishussss… (p.s. — I feel like a traitor to Paulie at Sicilian Thing… but… I would still hit him up on any normal pizza day, which beats out busy pizza days on my calendar… which doesn’t make any sense because there are no pizza days in general marked on my calendar, but pretend like you understand. preassssss.)

Abby and I had the opportunity to try this place last night and I’m glad we did. The pizza here is pretty solid. We tried a pepperoni slice and the pesto with ricotta slice and I was pleasantly surprised. The pesto is delicious. And I had to try a more normal slice to get a feel for the sauce/cheese ratio. The pizza under the pepperoni really held its own. We also tried some garlic knots. I haven’t had garlic knots in years, and I think it’s really cool that they have them here. It’s also cool that they serve a side of sauce with them too. You don’t get that in NY because most places are too cheap or to rude to give that up without asking for it. As for the customer service, I was treated pretty well while I was here. Although I waited a bit, I was acknowledged several times and they apologized for the wait. I ordered two slices and didn’t notice the 2 slices and a soda deal. When I went back up to ask if I could have a soda for a buck, the guy was super accommodating, rather than telling me the whole tough luck thing! The pizza came right out and it was hot and perfect. I definitely like this place better than Bronx, but I still hold Sicilian Thing in my heart. You know, on a side note, I think the 50 cent charge is fair for cards under 10 dollars, I actually think it’s pretty convenient as most of the pizza places I go to are usually cash only. The thing with pizza is it’s so cheap, they’d lose so much money to constantly charging cards for 2 or 3 buck orders. They now have beer!

Thank you, Ciro, for delivering me a hot, fresh pizza to the bar across the street… for that alone, you get an extra star. I love a pizza dude that will run across the street to a seedy, dark bar to deliver me the goods. Minus a star because the bell peppers were WAY too large. Need to be cut thinner/smaller/sumptin’! I asked for a classic veggie and I got spinach on it and no black olives. Huh? Anywho– the pizza satisfied the cheese fix I needed and was good… but I was also 4 Bacardi and Diets deep. Hot, fresh, and fast. You get 4 from moi.

I went in a little after 9pm. the pizza looked like it had been sitting in the case for hours, there was a fly in the case, and there was no discount for the old pizza. they charged me $ 0.50 to use my DEBIT card. The only reason this place gets more than one star is because the staff was nice. but, unless I get desparate enough, I don’t plan on going back

After being late to the Elite event at Dish, I was freaking HUNGRY. Some Unilocalers invited me to get Mexican, but I got held up by Intervention(you know I love you guys). Luckily, Ruggy and Mick stuck around, and Mick suggested pizza. Sounds good! *stomach rumbling* We walked down to Ciro’s, and it’s a cute little pizza joint with maybe 9 pizzas on display. I was torn between getting the Margherita or Spinach Ricotta. Spinach Ricotta won out because it had mushrooms :) **Thanks Mick for treating me– you are the bestest. Yay for another NY pizza style place in Hillcrest. I don’t think everyone is hip to how good Ciro’s pizza is or it would be super busy. I’ve tried the pesto, ricotta/mushroom, pepperoni/mushroom and cheese and all were great. Not greasy and just enough toppings. I’ll definitely come here more often than Bronx as parking can be had and they take cards.(There is a $ 10 minimum for credit cards. Well, the sign said they would charge .50 if less than $ 10.) Plus I am sure they are open later too.
