My oh my delicious handmade gelato. So many flavors to choose from luckily you can get a sample of as many as you like. Located in Gas Lamp most people I think settle for the Ghiradelli chocolate and ice cream parlor. THOSE people are making a huge mistake, DONT be one of those people. Shop local and treat yourself to some truly outstandingly creamy and not overly rich gelato.

If you’re in Gaslamp, and get struck by a sweet craving– this is the spot to hit! They have a TON of flavor options, and you can get a bowl or cone, as many flavors as you like. I had the hazelnut and salted caramel because I just couldn’t decide and I’m glad I did. The flavors paired well together and the gelato was silky and creamy. It was the perfect treat for a warm afternoon! The only thing that kept me from giving this place 5 stars is that it was REALLY warm and stuffy inside, which caused us to sit outside even though it was a little cool for that. Between the stuffiness and loud music inside, it just wasn’t an environment that made us wanna stay. The gelato is on point though!

Delicious pistachio gelato and strawberry & Nutella crêpe. It’s a cute little dessert joint and they serve salads, paninis, brunch, etc.

I was a little tipsy from my chai mule and tipsy cherry from Analog, and when I read the sign, I thought I was hallucinating since it was missing an «e». Regardless, I had bookmarked this place a long time ago, and I decided to check it out! The place was pretty busy– everyone was either drinking coffee, eating crepes, paninis, salads… but the most popular was the gelato section. I was AMAZED. Everything looked SOFRESH! And you can definitely taste the freshness in the gelato. The man serving(he is the boss, actually)…not the best. He was pretty rude and not so friendly but his lovely cashiers/baristas made up for him. After much contemplating, we got: –Medium size gelato cup(2 scoops)($ 6.43 after tax) //Tiramisu and Rum Chocolate. Tiramisu didn’t taste really espresso-like(but they do have an espresso flavor!) but it was a good balance to the rum chocolate! Rum chocolate is SUPER strong. Not rum-strong, but dark chocolate strong. A bit choking to the throat, but my boyfriend loved it. –1 waffle cone //Technically if you got this with the scoops, its 50 cents cheaper. But we ordered it separately since the BF had an epiphany so we paid $ 1.62(after tax) for a fresh cone. You can tell it’s not just from packaging(or maybe it is) but it was really good! Super thick on the bottom so if the scoops went in, the bottom layer would be soaked with gelato-juice and not drip! How genius! Pros: –Awesome selection! Classics done right. Probably one of the more generous places I’ve been too with quality and quantity for the price. Fruity/sorbety flavors taste like what they say it is, and chocolate is VERY chocolatey. –Awesome ambiance! I love the music, the sound of chatters and just the nice lighting with sparkling lights. I would sit here and talk forever if I could! Cons: –Meh service. And again, this is at the big macho boss. It seemed like all his baristas/cashiers were afraid of him… –Not super creative flavors. I guess they are going for authentic here, which is good! But they don’t have a specialty one flavor which was kind of disappointing. Tips/Observations: –Not sure if other people were told this… but Mr. Boss told me «Only two samples per customer!» I’m pretty indecisive about my flavors, so choose well, my friends! –Very close to Ghirardelli! Which, by the way has a $ 1 off if you check-in on Unilocal! So… if you wanted MORE ice cream, head on over there! But… not saying this location is bad. Just if you weren’t feelin’ gelato. –Parking…it’s gaslamp. Meter parking, valet parking, public parking… there’s no way around it if you plan to bring a car here. –Chocolate flavors are VERY overwhelming. I’m not a big chocolate person so if I got my own, I would get flavors less mild. Overall, if I had to recommend a gelato place immediate to this area, this place would definitely be one of the tops!

My go to gelato spot! So creamy and every flavor I’ve tried is absolutely delicious! I just recently noticed that they serve breakfast during the week. I just call from my office and walk over. Staff is always super attentive, my food is hot and ready to go, and you get a discount for working nearby. I’ve had the breakfast croissant & ham/egg/cheese crêpe and I’m hooked! Affordable, quick, and tasty! I’m a fan!

It was really hot in here. But it was a cold day so maybe I was extra bundled up. I got the Nutella Cream gelato and it was delicious. They have a lot of chocolate flavors and I wish I could’ve tried them all. The place was fair priced and seemed to be popular even on such a chilly day. Will be back next time I’m in Gaslamp.

This is one of my favorite places for its hours and location mostly but also they have savory and sweet yumminess. Ordered: roasted rosemary chicken breast grilled panini. Regular latte. Review: always great service here so today was no exception. Friendly, helpful staff. The panini came out with a small salad. It was tasty but the bread was a tiny bit hard for me personally but flavors were all there. I guess grilled bread can be a little tough. The salad dressing was balsamic and it was minimal which I like. Not too salty or oily or overly saucy. The latte was good in taste but too milky for me. It was a little watery or dilute not sure how to explain it. But the flavor was very good and the thickness is a personal preference otherwise it was well made. Verdict: how many updates must I write for you to try this place out?

Cute cute cute! We were disappointed at another dessert place so we decided to stop here and I’m so glad our night ended well because I love this place! We only got the gelato. There were so many flavors to choose from! I tried a lot of them and the server was very nice and patient with me. She didn’t give me a big stink about asking for testers when I decided I didn’t want to commit to the first three I tried. I ended up with mixed berry in a cone. Yum! I will definitely be back to try the other desserts they have like the crepes!

Stopped here twice during our vacation. The first day I had the Portobello Mushrooms & Gruyère Crêpe. It was a bit bland, but I can’t fault the restaurant for that. It wasn’t bad because it was done wrong, it was not as good as I had hoped. I’ve decided that Portobello mushrooms and gruyère are just not an exciting combination. However, the salted caramel gelato and the peanut butter gelato were both outstanding. Probably the best I’ve ever had. The 2nd time we went there I had the Portobello & Brie Panini. I love brie and this sandwich did not disappointed. Very good. Would have loved to have had some gelato on this visit but when we finished eating our meal the line was out the door and into the sidewalk and we just didn’t have the time to wait. As for the staff — outstanding. Super friendly and efficient no matter how insanely busy it got. Some people have commented here about a man who was not friendly and a bit rude. We experienced who I think they were referring to. He was the man who served us our gelato on our first visit. He seemed likely that he was the owner, or at least the manager. No smile, not friendly and seemed put out because we asked for samples. The samples he gave us were so tiny we really couldn’t taste them, but took a chance and ordered anyway and were happy we did. Good food, great gelato and other than one grouchy man the staff was outstanding. Worth giving a try for dessert when you’re in the Gaslamp district.

I had the mixed berry gelato and my friend had the cheesecake gelato. The gelato was really good! I wish we had tried other things on the menu but we were too full. My only complaint is that the service is really rude. The man working there was extremely rude. I was already being helped at the cashier with a lady and he yelled at us to come to his cashier. Then when I took out my card to pay, he took it and threw it onto the table in a rude manner with the pen.

Every time we come to San Diego, we have dessert here. Why? Because Nutella Mascapone Crêpe. Seriously, best crêpe I’ve ever had. Last night, we ordered that plus a scoop of salted caramel gelato. Yaaas! We also ordered an Americano, a Latte and a regular coffee. All delicious! And hot. Yum. I will keep coming back. Ps. Everyone there was very friendly and easy to talk to. Makes the visit that much more enjoyable.

Best gelato I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously. I had a double scoop of Nutella and Cookies n’ Cream. They were both flavorful, creamy, sweet, and delicious. I wanted to spend forever eating it, but I was scraping the bottom of the bowl before I knew it. Please go treat yourself to some of their gelato. You won’t regret it!

So I got into San Diego Gaslamp District and my hotel room wasn’t ready yet. So after resting up about 20 minutes, I thought, what the heck, I shall go exploring by myself since none of my conference attendee friends were here yet. So I start one direction and by the time I was out about 30 minutes, I had no idea where I was. Then, since it was a nice warm day, I thought it was«Ice Coffee» time. Would you believe there weren’t any cafes close by that had iced coffee? So I was by this little shop on 5th Ave and saw the sign saying«Ice…Coffee». OMG. thought I would just take a look. Ha! Now I can’t eat anything for the next 3 days. Yummy! !!! Don’t stop in here if you don’t want to get enticed! Yummy. I didn’t walk out with the ice coffee I intended to walk out with but ice cream dessert before dinner works for me just fine.

The crepes were light and well made. I had the pastry cream and strawberries crêpe. There wasn’t too much of a filing though so it wasn’t all that flavorful. I did appreciate that they used fresh strawberries though. The best part was the scoop of toffee gelato that I had on top! Yum! It was just want it needed to make it right. My friend had strawberries and nutella in her crêpe and it looked a whole lot sweeter than mine… she concurred and it said it was as delicious as it looked.

Craving for gelato? Try Chocolat Cremerie located in the Gaslamp District. They serve breakfast, crepes, salads, flat breads, and drinks. Other than gelato they also have other desserts like chocolate covered strawberry, cake, crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, and warm apple tarts, etc. Counter seating is available by the window and you can watch the Chef prepare the food. They have a lot of gelato flavors to choose from and you can sample them too! :Dessert: We got Oreos and Cream, Toffee Cream, and Pistachio. The flavor was just right. It was also creamy, dense, and smooth. The presentation is cute, each scoop came with a round waffle cookie and a clear colored small square shaped spoon. You can get the gelato in three sizes, 1) 3.5oz(1 flavor), 2) 6oz(2 flavors), 3) 8oz(3 flavors). ( ) ( ) ( ) :“MeH“Moment: The ice cream cup can look deceiving. It looks like a lot of ice cream but the cup is shallow. :M’s Notes: ~Street and Garage parking ~Inside and Outside seating

It was our last night in San Diego and after a long day of Comic Con and walking around, my friend and I chose Chocolat Cremerie over Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop just down the street. If you’ve read my reviews, you’ll know that I love gelato. I can’t get enough of gelato. And even though the menu at Chocolat Cremerie boasts of everything from gelato to pasta, you bet your last dollar I was going for some gelato that day. Like I said, their menu is quite extensive and ranges from salads to crepes, pancakes, omelets, French toast, and even grilled panini. Great place for breakfast, brunch, or desserts! They have a ton of gelato flavors, and just the chocolate flavor alone has at least 10 variations of milk, dark, orange, cinnamon, ginger, chili, etc. I opted for pistachio which is my go-to gelato flavor to assess the quality. Very smooth, creamy, nice consistency.

Came by for dessert on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered pistachio and hazelnut for $ 4.95. My cousin ordered the toffee and cookies & cream. Pistachio flavor is my default flavor ice cream or gelato so I had ordered that without sampling. For $ 4.95, I felt like they were a bit stingy on my order. I wasn’t a fan of the pistachio gelato. It had this weird after taste to it. My cousin thought the pistachio gelato was good but I didn’t enjoy it. I also didn’t think it was sweet enough. On the other hand, the hazelnut was delicious. I had the opportunity to try her toffee and cookies & cream. Both were also excellent. I think the next time I come, I’ll sample the flavors rather than going what I would normally get. Service was also quite pleasant.

Yummmms! I had the milk+ chocolate and pineapple gelato… It was the gelato of my life! My friend had the berry mix and mango. She loved it too! Portion is adequate, price is reasonable. This location has tiny seating area though so keep that in mind. Great place to drop by for gelato while shopping or after dinner! :)
