Was awesome. Speed of delivery declined each order. Sandwiches got slimmer each time. Sandwiches not labeled so passing out food in a meeting meant opening each to see what it was. I called today to place an order(1÷14÷16) for delivery. They no longer deliver. Our business averaged 9 – 15 items ordered per week. We are done. Too bad. They can service the local businesses. They are worth a walk in if you are there but of no value to us now.

My son highly recommend Caffè 5 and I assumed he was over exaggerating as usual… lol. But, this time I was wrong. So pleased with everything including Rema! I could tell immediately she was the owner by the way she carries herself. And what I mean by that is she’s perfectly humble. You can tell by her passion with the quality of food and service she gives to her guests. They have an exceptional service staff as well. I ordered the Panini Chicken and Artichoke. Not over powering with the mustard or artichokes Just the right amount. Good enough that I ordered a second one and shared. We had a couple salads, Cobb and Thai. Both superb. I don’t know if the dressings are Housemade or not but they tasted like it. Superb. It’s a distance away but I’ll be back without question. It’s a must visit!

Great service and food! I’ve been coming here since it opened and Rima, George and the crew are all friendly and top notch. I’ve also used them to cater our lunch meetings with good reviews.

Awesome!!! this is what you will experience if you make the wise decision to eat here. Number one Rima the friendly, professional woman with an amazing smile will take your order, what you will notice on the menu is a wide variety of healthy choices. Custom made wraps with fresh vegetables, turkey and assorted items to make your mouth explode with great taste. They perfectly combine food items with foods that compliment each other such as avocados with red onions. Each sandwich and wrap is made with great care to ensure the quality of the food coming to you, I watched the cook carefully select the greens, trim away small amounts of fat on the bacon and evenly placed each item onto my wrap as if it was art work. I cannot say enough great things, there friendly, fast and offer a very healthy menu, to fuel you up and get you on your way. Thank You so much for being there.

If you’re looking for a small breakfast or any meal time, definitely go here. It’s hidden in the Serco building. The lady who works there has a beautiful accent and she’s very informative. I would go back here any time when I come visit San Diego!

I’ve eaten here almost everyday for a few years, and I’ve found the food to be delicious, healthy, fresh and satisfying. The staff is always polite and the ownership knows what they are doing. The breakfast sandwiches are fantastic and for lunch I love the salads and wraps. Ignore the people that give this place two stars because they ran out of a bagel flavor. Call in an order to skip the lunch rush, take your food to the tables outside in the shade, and watch the fighter jets practice!

I’ve given this place a try a few times because it’s conveniently located walking distance to work. This café mostly serves the surrounding businesses. The first time I was here, I tried ordering a Mexican Mocha, but they were out. No big deal. I got another coffee. The second time I was here, I ordered a Turkey Tuscan wrap(you can substitute any sandwich for a wrap) for lunch. I was surprised by how dull something with avocado and jack cheese could taste. It was borderline inedible. It was as if the ingredients were thrown together by accident. I almost threw it away but I was raised to never waste food. I gave this place a third try because my co-worker got a deluxe bagel and it looked delicious. I ordered the same thing, but they ran out of jalapeño bagels. I was disappointed but I decided to get the deluxe with a plain bagel. The bagel was delicious and packed with bacon, cheese, and egg. I’m sure it would’ve been better on a jalapeño bagel. Because it was Wednesday, they offer free coffee with purchase. They were also out of coffee. While the bagel was good, I’d rather drive to a nearby commercial plaza than to be disappointed again.

Always an excellent experience. I often go with the special of the day, although the regular menu is great too, and today’s chicken pesto sandwich special was outstanding. I hope to see it on the board again.

Where do I start this review. Well Unilocaled the area I was in and it came up with Cafe5 among other spots. I checked the menu and it looked all good. Not only that it was close by. I plugged it in the gps and it showed 5 min away. I ended up at the Waxie building. The front door of the café is located on the ground floor outside of the building. It’s small with few tables and barstools to eat inside. We were greeted by Rima who was supper nice and friendly. Her pos system was down for the day, since I didn’t have any cash on me Rima insisted that we eat first and then come back with the dinero. On to the food… I had the turkey Tuscan panini. My son had the polish dog special came with drink and homemade brownie and my daughter had the grilled cheese with brownie and drink. My panini was very good and a good size. Packed in there was avo, sun dried tomatoes, turkey and pesto. Grilled to perfection and oh so yummy. My daughter killed her grilled cheese and my son munched down his dog. If your in the area stop by and say hi to Rima.

S.U.B.S.T.A.N.C.E! Alas, a forgotten word in today’s highly processed foods and attention deficit crowds. I met George and Rima(aka«the owners») at a party recently, and learned of their Café 5, so I went there, and frankly I was taken aback because not only do the owners themselves have a lot of substance, but so does their food and their café. I had learned why and how the owners got into this business, it was their passion for food and service, and not because it was by default, or a mistake, or a twist of fate. They love to cook and host and it shows in how fresh the food is, and how different it tastes. I typically shy away from deli food because everything tastes standardized and canned, but this is no ordinary deli and the food is carefully balanced in the way the ingredients are chosen and presented. Today for example, I had the Turkey Tuscany Panini, a delightful and über tasty concoction, loaded with a mound of fresh turkey slices, avocado, and jack cheese; sounds ordinary? Nope, it isn’t, especially because the sun-dried tomatoes(I learned while eating the second half) are marinated by George using his own recipe and ingredients(who does that?) The superlative taste was complimented by the interplay of textures: juicy & tender interior against a crunchy sourdough exterior. What a delight! On a previous occasion, the BLT was also equally stellar, and I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Best of all, the owners of Café 5 provide the kind of warmth and hospitality that are free of pretense. They offer delicious foods that are custom prepared, with fresh ingredients, served with a great smile, and in a contemporary and attractive setting(both indoor and outdoor seating are available). Thank you Rima and George for this SUBSTANTIALLY wonderful dining experience.

Decent for an office building café. I enjoyed the Thai chicken wrap, although it could’ve used a bit more chicken.

Heard so many great things about this place, my friend who works at the same building where this café is, kept raving about the food quality, the service and how friendly the owners are. Today I made a trip to café 5 to satisfy my appetite and curiosity wanting to find out what is so special about this place. The minute I walked in everything was so inviting; the cleanliness, the delicious smell, the nice smile on every ones face made it already a pleasant experience. Talk about the food now; everything sounds sooooo good, it made it so hard to make a decision and choosing the right sandwich, the lady at the counter was so patient and answered all my questions about the ingredients, which to my surprise were no deli quality item, I felt I’m about to have the best food experience and so I did:) I picked the turkey Tuscany sandwich, the combination sounded so great, and it tasted way better than any deli sandwich I have ever had. I took a bite and I felt I’m going back to Tuscany with all the Mediterranean flavors and sun dried tomatoes… I’m craving another one now. This place really has it all. Very highly recommended.

This place is just okay. We came during lunch hours so it was pretty packed. Our first time here & I didn’t enjoy it as much my boyfriend did. He has the French dip sandwich(?) And I had a salmon sandwich. The time I was here the ice machine was not working so that was a bummer. Anyways, back to the sandwiches. The French dip sandwich was okay, too salty for me however he thought it was decent. The salmon sandwich just didn’t taste good to me. It was bland and definitely not fresh(but I didn’t expect it to be from here). I also asked for the avocados to be added but on the side instead of on my sandwich but I guess the guy making my sandwich didn’t care too much even when we asked him again for it on the side. So customer service was kind of lacking, the lady in the front was nice to give us a refund on our drink that we waited 15 minutes for due to the ice machine not working. Overall, my experience here was not so great. I probably won’t be back. There was just nothing special about this place.

Being a Unilocal connoisseur, I am very picky about which places I write reviews for. The place has to be really good or really bad for me to put the effort into a review. Needless to say, this café is AMAZING. I came here on a business trip and I got to know the owners personally. They treated me like family! I asked what goes into the food and menu, because in today’s world of cafes and restaurants. it’s very easy to get lazy and use low-quality/microwavable ingredients. I hate that. Rima informed me that everything’s made on premises each day, using fresh ingredients purchased the day of or before. Fresh food = way to my heart. I had a few different things here. The breakfast bagel, with spinach, avocado, tomato, and cheese; George’s special soup; and some green salad/fruit salad. It was all like having a party in my mouth. The worst part about their food is the moment when you’ve finished your meal and you realize there’s no more left. Yes friends, everything was delicious, fast, and affordable. And the service was awesome. Simon is SO sweet. And Rima and George are always laughing and friendly. To come to a bright, happy, clean place is an awesome experience. I love it here! Wish I lived here so I could visit more often. Apparently they do an amazing job catering too. maybe I’ll have to fly them out to San Francisco. :)

This quaint café is a little hidden treasure on the first floor office building in Kearney Mesa. Driving down Ruffin and making a turn on Waxie Way and passing the Serco Building on the left, one would not have a clue that this café is located in the building. Before you walk in the building, from the unsecured entrance, on the right is a glass door with the sign that says. Caffe5 San Diego. When I walked in, a very nice Lebanese women, the owner, was busily getting ready for the afternoon lunch rush. After exchanging pleasantries, I quickly scanned the menu and ordered the The 5’s Breakfast Sandwich which included hot pastrami, melted American cheese and a perfectly steamed egg on a fresh toasted ciabatta bread for only $ 4.99.( ) For a drink, I ordered their house coffee, medium, for $ 1.75. The sandwich was really good, then again I am a sucker for anything with good pastrami. The ciabatta was nicely toasted and was a perfect choice for this sandwich. The bread is strong and holds up well. The pastrami was good, the egg mild, so I added some pepper, and the cheese, well a typical American cheese.( ) The sandwich hit the spot. The coffee was a lot better then what I expected. I forgot to ask what brands they use which was a bummer because it was smooth and well balanced. Since it was bottomless, I had two cups. The service and the people who work here are very nice. They treat you well and want to make sure you have a great meal.

My friend/coworker loves this place, so we kept going back dispite my reluctance to do so. But I’m glad we did! This place has great food and good prices. My experiences here have been consistantly better than the last time I reviewed, so I give them 4 stars! Word to the wise, their food can take some time to make, so I highly recommend calling in your order ahead of time. One limitation to this place is a lack of online menu(at this time), but they do have printed menus you can take with you for future reference. They also have great specials on a daily basis!

OOOHHHHMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Sometimes the simplest things are the best things in life. Let me tell you the sandwich that I am in the process of eating right now and writing this review is so freaking A good! Sourdough bread: chewy and the perfect sized slice. Not too thick and not too thin. The lettuce: fresh and crispy. Tomatoes: perfectly ripe and juicy. Turkey: thin sliced and piled high. Provolone cheese: thick sliced and they give you 4 pieces/sandwich. Wow…I’m glad my work decided to order from here. Ridiculously good sandwich! I think the price is around $ 5.95 a little steep but it’s worth it. This sandwich can feed me for 2 meals!

I used to work upstairs from Eddy M’s café. They have really good homemade style deli food. Everything they serve is pretty healthy and they are generous with portions. Eddy and his staff are all SUPER nice and it makes coming back enjoyable. Prices are fair and they’re soup and specials are DELISH! I miss working in the same building as Eddy M’s.
