My kids are going to summer camp at Bilingual Kids and THEYLOVEIT. Our youngest 4 and 6 year old are going and they are having a blast. The camp staff are super friendly, nurturing, and fun for the younger kids. Then there are counselors for the older kids that keep them engaged and having fun too! The activities each day are very well organized as they are at Balboa Park and go to all the various museums and exhibits. They also incorporate engaging lessons throughout the day so the children are exposed to thematic vocabulary in Spanish. It is completely immersion, as the staff speak Spanish to all the kids all day. When I’ve been there to drop off my kids or to pick up, I just noticed all the kids happy. It was like all the kids make friends so easily. Every day I pick up my kids they are very content(and tired from all the activities), and they tell me how much fun they’ve had and they can’t wait to see what they will do tomorrow. I highly recommend this camp for young and up to middle school age kids. There are lots of activities and there is a diverse group of kids.

Finally got a chance to meet the director and send my kids to camp. There are certain things that I wish I would’ve known before I signed my kids up: Most of the field trips to the museums are not done until after 1pm. I signed my kids up for half days so they will not be going on field trips(except for one day out of the week). The ratio of teachers to students is fairly good, but if you have a younger toddler who needs more attention, I wouldn’t sign them up. It’s not that the teachers cannot handle it, but they have to monitor all other camp members and babysitting a toddler may be too time consuming. I did not receive an itinerary until the day we arrived. This would have been helpful prior to arriving. They have lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm. I observed the first day and they say they will use more Spanish as the week progresses. However, I was already impressed with the amount of Spanish they spoke to the kids. It is a priority to speak it and I liked that.
