Excellent choice of selecting my paint from them. Please go see Robert the manager he is very nice and helpful. My husband and I decided to hire a contractor to paint our living room. We upgraded to Venetian plaster. When our contractor selected the products he said this was one of the best places in San Diego to get merchandise. I agree and glad we choose this as our go too place. We were very happy with the ending result, I am so glad we got all of our materials from there. If you are thinking a painting your living room. I would choose this place for your paint.

Solid 4 stars. They’re by far the closest place to me for Benjamin Moore paint and they know their stuff. Someone had previously rated the store based on the lack of customer service. I gotta say that, while these guys won’t give you that unbelievable wow experience from a smiley standpoint, they are paint guys, they know their product, and they’ve been great to me every time I’ve come in here(family has been coming here since they were on Rosecrans)

I am a good steady customer at Bayside paint even though the folks that work there are often sullen & cranky– you know; no” hello” or ‘thank you” but today’s experience was the worst. I bought 2 expensive products for an important job & they didn’t work ATALL. I wasn’t blaming the paint store but they blamed me– 2 of the folks behind the counter questioned me that I hadn’t done it right and one guy took the two products up in his arms and took them to the other paint station in the back as if to say–«I BET I CANGETTHEMTOWORK». Worse still was that the guy who did the paperwork said ‘there you go’. No gee I’m sorry it didn’t work or sorry– nothing. I’m going to find another vendor!!! «There you go!!!»

Our research for paint colors for our new house led us to Bayside Paint. My husband found out through their site that they have color consultants on certain days for free color help and they’re 1 of the only 2 stores that carry YOLO paint. We ended up getting color help through email correspondence with a YOLO employee, but it was nice to know that free«in person» help at Bayside was also available. And as expected, Bayside had a lot more color selection than Home Depot or Lowe’s. Aside from YOLO I liked The Pottery Barn collection and Ralph Lauren neutrals. When Bayside ran out of the flat paint we needed(the only other store in SD was out of it too), Gary first thought his cousin might have some. When he called us back with an update that his cousin didn’t have any, he offered to get us a gallon from Cox Paint in LA over the weekend. Super cool guy! Really saved our painting project. Although Gary went out of his way to get us paint they didn’t have, I wish they were better about maintaining their inventory. We ended up needing more of the flat paint and when I asked for an ETA of when they might have it, I was told that it won’t be for several weeks. It was the other paint store(Olive Branch) that received a shipment of our paint a lot sooner that saved the day that time. Anyway, I’m still a fan. I would still make the trek from north county down to Bayside over going down the street to Home Depot for paint.

If your taste leans more toward the designer or artistic end of the spectrum, this is your paint place. Besides Ben Moore, they have Ralph Lauren, Yolo, and other high-end brands. You’ll find everything you need for any project involving cracked, speckled, sueded, or other crazy faux texture you can dream up. Best of all… you only have to walk about 15 feet to find a person to help you(and another 15 feet to your car).

If you want Benjamin Moore, this is going to be the most convenient store for most San Diego County residents. They also sell small samples of Benjamin Moore colors(recommend calling for availability). The store also has a lot of neat paint products for faux-finishing, different brushes, and accessories. I found the staff here to be friendly and helpful enough. I believe they have a parking lot, but I’ve been here 3 times and always found a spot on the street *right* in front. Side rant: The Benjamin Moore paint is wonderful. I love the coverage and there was no smell after I painted.
