Saw all of the bad reviews so I felt I had to write this. Ignore all the bad reviews, they just changed their menu and there food is amazing now. Get the tater tots they are out of this world, seasoned and everything. I had the Cuban Turkey burger which was delicious and my girlfriend had the fish and chips both were fresh and had great taste. Hope you give this place a chance you will not regret it.

I went here to grab a quick breakfast before catching the ferry to Coronado. The food was decent, I got the sweet potato hash which had eggs, sweet potatoes, and chorizo. It also came with toast and fruit. The lady who I placed my order with was very friendly and nice. It was fine, but wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend.

Can you say over priced for the fish and chips that were so small we though it was the kids meal chicken tenders? I thought it would be good since it’s freakin by the bay but when that plate came out… we were like«um…» Fish tacos were unavailable? hmm… but we just got fish and chips… Chicken tenders, over cooked. Had to cut away almost half of it so the kid won’t eat the battered fry parts of it. Breakfast platter… nothing special. eggs/bacon, 2 tatter things, 2 whole pieces of toast and jam. Pigeons…flying in and out. Shoo!

Beer — expensive — as other mentioned ball park prices. Cute tables on the water, out the back. Nice place to relax while waiting for the ferry that you inevitably need to wait 45 min for! Staff is pretty friendly, an anxious about you trying to take your beverage outside the front door.

I’ve been here a few times now, whether it’s because it was the closest place with non-seafood items on the menu for my seafood-phobic friends or whether I needed a quick bite while waiting for a ferry or a harbor cruise. Things I’ve eaten here: — slushie(polar ice?) — ice cream — burger — fries — chicken club wrap Everything I’ve eaten(though $ 2-$ 3 more than I’d usually pay for the items) has been surprisingly delicious for a little rinky-dink looking harbor-side fast food place. The burgers are large and come with all the fixins’, including a pretty piece of leafy lettuce. The chicken club wrap is delightful, served warm so the cheddar cheese is nice and melty around the bite-sized(thank goodness it wasn’t a huge hunk of grilled chicken) chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon. What tasted like a tangy mayo-ranch sauce was a nice complement to the wrap. The fries are especially tasty. They aren’t greasy at all and they’re seasoned with paprika. The ice cream is standard. It’s a nice change of pace from the Fish Market or Anthony’s Fish Grotto when you need a quick seafood alternative on the harbor. Tip: Go out back of the café where you typically board cruises to eat outside on the pier. There are a few tables hidden at the end of the pier that belong to the Bay Café. Beware the seagulls. They’ll stare you down all creepy-like till you’re leaving. Creeps.

After a 45-mile ride from North County, I was looking forward to grabbing a couple of beers and some food. I did not care about baseball park prices – just wanted to relax with my riding partner and wait for the Coronado ferry to complete my ride. I wasn’t in the establishment 15 seconds when security walked up to us and told us to leave or park our bikes outside – something I absolutely do not do when I’m 45 miles away from my car and in a heavily populated area. Didn’t even get to try the food and expensive beer at this non-bike friendly establishment. Hundreds of cyclists take that Ferry every day. I guess this is one business that does not need customers.

It was a convenient place to wait for the ferry to Coronado. Friendly service. Just got water and a few slices of bacon so not sure about the rest of the food.

Stopped before our Harbor Cruise today. My friend went to get us a table. The host rudely asked her what she was doing as she was putting two tables together and when she explained that we had a party of seven and asked if it was ok, he said it would be if she had asked then started throwing chairs around and would’t even look at her. There were only two other people in the restaurant, so it’s not like it was packed or the guy was swamped. So, we left and went to The Fish Market where they seemed pleased to accommodate us and our party of seven.

You probably know this place more for their public restrooms rather than their food. It’s located outside the Ferry landing and Harbor cruise entrance. Fried items are what you’ll be ordering here. It’s better than the Anthony’s further up Harbor Drive. Breakfast pastries looked tired. — Bathrooms! Long line for you ladies though. — A bottle of water will run you 2 bucks, and a cup of slushie will set you back 3 more. — They have beer, but it’s baseball park prices.

I was hungry even after my pineapple bun breakfast. Not wanting to get sea sick, I went to this place to snack before my harbor cruise. It’s a small café with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is pretty simple: appetizers(nachos, calamari, tacos, potato skins), meal(fish and chips, seafood platter, panini, etc) and breakfast. I got seafood platter for $ 12(beer battered shrimp, cod, clam strips, calamari, coleslaw, frieds with cocktail and tartar sauces). I brought my seafood platter and enjoyed the outdoor view. The food was okay… a little greasy but edible. I did enjoy sitting outside and took my time to relax. It’s nice to be a tourist once in a while. 2 stars! Bay Café was not so yummylicious!

I like their food. The side order of frys are an awesome deal for someone who works downtown. They are $ 2.00 and you get like three potatoes worth of frys. No joke. Maybe more. The burgers are great and the plates of food are awesome. Fish and chips are GREAT! This place isnt really the cheapest once you get past their frys. Better than your average«seven-dollar-burger». or is it six. ha. you will be paying 10. The happy hour is great. They frys are 1 dollar at that point. and the beer becomes affordable. Good luck and happy eating!

So, there I was. Another day taking the ferry back home from work. Almost every day that I have some extra time on my hands getting to the ferry early I go to the«Bay Café» for a beer or two. Well yesterday I decided try out their food. I take a few bites of their swordfish tacos,(which by the way is my favorite thing in the world). Well some one that rides the boat with me every morning asked me how they were. Well without looking around me I replay«I’m not sure what kind of fish this was, it didn’t taste too much like swordfish and it was rather bland.» Right then and there the owner or boss is standing next to me dogging on his taco and he puts me on the spot and I felt awkward. I told him it wasn’t sword fishy and he said it was fresh from that day. So after thoroughly investigating I realize it was SUPERDRY. Well I ate it anyway. It came with some rice and black beans that had the perfect hint of spice to it. The started with the second taco. Wow. This one was awesome and not dry, awesome flavor. Then I told the boss sorry it was just that one. I don’t like to criticize peoples food to their face… I am sold on their swordfish tacos now and will be going today again! Oh if you miss happy hour their little dinky cups of beer is $ 7! Totally wrong! I if your interested in wining some money in a law suite, go on upstairs! I went up there 2 days ago for the first time and there are holes in the floor! I looks like you could fall straight through the ceiling. I thought about it. :) They don’t bring your food upstairs on the deck. Well that what I heard the lady behind the register to someone going upstairs and they close at 7:30PM. which is early to me. Second time I went there it was the same thing. Unfortunately they aren’t consistent.
