Excellent, fast service. The best cleaners in downtown!

The tailoring is as custom as you can get. I have brought many suits and dress shirts to be tailored to my body. My $ 500 dollar suits now look like $ 5,000 dollar suits(not kidding). Service is family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. A+

Best dry cleaners in San Diego. They always do great work and their prices are reasonable. The downtown location makes it very convenient. My office is in the same building so its even more convenient. Thanks!

Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers I found this place. There a few quality service people that are really tough to find, and good dry cleaners are one of them. Hopefully, Alpine will continue to excel for me. They send everything out, but the real difference here, and what separates them from everyone else is that Christy personally inspects everything when it come back from the factory, and touches it up with steam or pressing as needed. The result is near perfection. My sport jacket was $ 8 for cleaning, and it looks great. They are located in the basement of the 1010 building, on the NW corner of 2nd Ave & Broadway. There is limited street parking in front of the building. Go into the building entrance, turn left behind the security desk, and take the escalator down straight to their storefront. If there’s no parking on the street, call James, and he’ll meet you curbside, as a drive-thru. How easy is that??? See photos for easy reference.

Alpine Cleaners is excellent! My work clothes always come back clean and nicely cared for. I have the occasional button to sew, rip to mend, or hem for them to take up, and I trust them completely to take care of whatever I need. They even took in one of my favorite shirts at the back so that it fits me perfectly. They are always on time and charge reasonable rates for both dry cleaning and alterations. This Korean husband and wife duo are also some of the sweetest and most genuine business owners I know. I can’t recommend them highly enough! See the previous review for the tricky location.

Update: This place gets 5 stars! I’m here every week dropping off my work shirts, and they always say hi to my by my name, and make the whole process simple. I’m in and out in 15 seconds dropping off, and 60 seconds picking up. I mean, can it be any easier? My life is busy, and I really appreciate the speed, quality, and ease of use. So what can I say about a cleaners that might be helpful to a Unilocaler who reads this? Well for starters, its not the easiest to find. You can head into the 7 – 11 on the corner of 2nd& Broadway and exit the back, hang a right, and head down the escalators. Or you could enter from the 2nd Street doors, walk past the concierge and loop around to the left. At the bottom of the escalators is where you’ll find this small mom & pop cleaners. The couple are very friendly, and quick. I just dropped off my dry cleaning, they gave me a tag, and said I could return in 2 days. Done & Done. Dry cleaned items were perfectly pressed, cleaned, hung, and folded. I was very happy with the service and they quality of the work. I will return. Oh, and they are very reasonably priced.

Alpine Cleaners just moved right downstairs one floor. The escalator puts you in the front door. Oh, and to correct another post’s suggestion of the owner’s ethnicity, they are Korean.

Fast, Friendly and Reliable. I only come here for alterations, so I can’t attest to the quality or price of the dry cleaning. James is the only tailor I trust for alterations in downtown SD. Anytime I need a suit or trousers altered, this is the one place I consider. The store may be a «mom and pop» shop, but the quality and craftsmanship of their work is second to none. They get it right the first time. Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I’ve never waited more than 2 days for alterations. Even some of the big name stores at Horton Plaza recommend coming here for alterations! If you want extra points, talk about the Chicago Bears or Cubs with them.

This place is fantastic, and it’s so great to support a small business that does a great job. I have taken my work clothes into Alpine several times and always had great results. Recently though, I took something else in. Not knowing what to do and feeling generally overwhelmed with life, I took them my grass-stained and muddied WEDDING dress. I did not know what to do with the bottom of it, and sort of had written it off. Well, not so. They got it out – grass stains and mud out of an ivory colored polyester/silk dress. I really don’t think they’re that expensive. I think it’s maybe slightly above average, but for the quality of the service, it’s absolutely worth it. Go here!

I LOVE James & Christi!!! They are very friendly and they do a great job especially Christi with her alterations! I took a formal dress with beads to Christi to take it in and she did an amazing job, she also re-beaded the dress in the areas that were needed as well it looked great! I used to work in the building where they are located and was sad when we moved to East Village. When I get a chance to get down in that area for lunch I make a point in bringing my clothes. I have tried other cleaners that charge about the same but there’s no competition with Alpine Cleaners, they are the best!!! I’ve decided I’m going to make a point and get down there more often even if I have to do it after work!

Have been going to this place for years. Very friendly couple and very professional work. Kristy has done an amazing job of altering suits and dresses for me. I have even had people ask me if my clothes are custom made-that’s how well she gets the fit. Also…to the earlier poster… they’re Korean. Not every asian person you meet is chinese.

Honestly, I can’t comment on other people’s experiences here, but man, I have been to literally 20 dry cleaners during my decade living in san diego, I’m not the pickiest of people but my wife is, and she has had no complaints, which speaks volumes. Also, the wife is a great seamstress, again, I have my wives’ experiences as well as my own to vouch for the skill involved. And yes, it is true that they are not cheap, but if you want a s**** cheap dry cleaner there are literally millions. Finally, I have also had an experience where they couldn’t get a stain out, but why wouldn’t they charge you– it’s not like they didn’t try.

Ok, I thought I’d check this place out, as there were very good reviews on some other site. Well I really don’t have a fantastic review for this place. Friendly Chinese couple. However they are not cheap, aaand they still charge you for pieces that still have marks on them, saying, «We couldn’t get that out». On 2 occasions I purchased the«stain devil» solution, and got it out myself. I gave them one more chance, and they disappointed me again. I will not be going back here, there are no bargains and most stains can’t be taken out, but I’m still charged, so they definitely won’t be seeing me again…
