Sad to hear that this place is closed. Was truly a gem. Way ahead of its time because San Diego surely didn’t appreciate this Euro Haus décor and ultra refined food. The interior was breathtaking. Praying it’ll open back up. Glad I got to experience it while it was open.

Even thou this place is now closed, the food was AMAZING. Came here for a party of 12 or so for a Bachelorette Party in September 2011. We were all blown away by the food and the ambiance. Tried to go again early October for my bday and were told they were closed for the night b/c of plumbing issues. The place closed down for good I think a week later. For anyone who loved the food here, Chef Brian Redzikowski is now at Flavor del Mar. It took some time for me to find him but he is indeed working at Flavor and alot of the dishes from Airr, is on the menu at Flavor. We recently went to Flavor and truly enjoyed the food. Got to meet the Chef as well. Sad that Airr closed — it was truly a gem

WARNING!!! RESTAURANTISCLOSED! Came here once a few months ago and really enjoyed it, so we were looking forward to coming again, this time with out-of-town guests. I was a little worried when I called requesting reservations and never got a call back, but briefly checking Unilocal,I did not see that they were closed. We’ve ended up showing up there for dinner, only to find out that they have been closed for over a month. If somebody knows how to notify Unilocal to mark that this restaurant is closed, please do so, so that nobody else ends up doing what we did. Their web site is still up and running, and the phone still has their recording and allows you to leave a message. Even Googling it doesn’t tell you that the restaurant is now closed. Pity, because the restaurant really was very good.

Came here at 7pm on a Saturday and we were the only 3 parties there… hmmm makes you wonder. The table next to us was a mom and her 4 little kids… WTH??? The color concept is unique, half white for the dining area and half red for the lounge area. We dined on the white side. Music kept repeating for 3 hours and as it got closer to 9pm, the room was filling up and it was pretty loud. On our way out we stopped by the red room, it was not happening at all. Don’t expect a club scene. On the food side, everything we had was delicious. Keep in mind this is tapa style, small dishes meant to be shared. We ordered 7 for 4 peeps. My favorite was the lobster tempura(there’s actual chunks of lobster meat). The main scallops were seared to perfection with a side of mushroom cream that was out of this world. The risotto was unique. There was a sunny side egg that you get to crack and see it run all over the risotto. That was a great surprise and actually very tasty. The lobster taco was very refreshing. The taco shell was crispy and it was full of fresh ingredients. I’m a sucker for lobster. Cocktail — #24: veev, crushed cherry tomatoes, mint, lemon, and soda… very refreshing drink. I will have to try to make this at home. All in all, service was great(having a cute server doesn’t hurt either) and awesome food. On the downside, it is pricey and it does add up at the end of the night. On a side note, watch out for the steep stairway. Walking up and down with high heels was a little bit scary. I can’t picture being drunk on it.

I love something different in an upscale restaurant and this place lavishes different on me every time I go. OK, you have to pay dearly for it, but every so often it’s necessary. First…it’s sexy. The stark white main dining room, the glowing red club rooms, the pulsing music, the presentation of the food. And, when I say stark white… I mean it. White floors, white seats, white tables, white walls. Way cool. Second…the seating is unique. If you want an intimate and personal meal with your date, request a private table. Otherwise, it’s communal dining. The social aspect of this depends on who you’re dining next to… Third…the food is very, very good. I don’t say great because there has been a dish here and there that didn’t live up to the price, but overall I’ve been quite happy. The noise level is on the louder side… I said it was sexy, not quietly intimate. Service is outstanding… on my third visit, the server recognized me and spoiled us. My last dinner here was one of the best memories I will ever have… and, a big part of the memory is because of the dramatic setting of Airr Supper Club.

Well Airr is interesting to say the least. As it was mentioned before, I definitely got the Sex and the City Vibe. The boy and I, along with some friends and a very special VIP partner, got us into the soft opening party. Which I much appreciate to say the least. It was supposed to be an evening filled with nibbles and drinks one that would entice us to come back for more, and did it? Well no. I enjoyed the free snacks though. Not for lack of trying, I believe Airr will be as successful as they think it will. But the clientele they’re catering to just aren’t the type of people I’m ready to mingle with. If I’m single at 35, still have a fabulous hiney and looking to catch myself a naughty millionaire, I will come here. But for now, enjoy it before the pop-collar douches discover it and turn it into another On Broadway. Let me put it this way, amidst the clubland of downtown you’re paying to see and be seen, but the people who are going to see you here aren’t going to give you the time of day.

I think we were deceived by the word«club» in the name of this place. It was my first night in the Gaslamp area and we were looking for a good time. Our group was charged a cover, as most places do in that area(so I’m told) but I’m not quite sure what for. It sounded like they needed some patrons because the bouncer offered us a group deal… a little strange. The décor was very interesting, as everyone else has stated, split between red and white rooms. We did not go for dinner so I have no comment on the food, but I can tell you that this is not a place to go dance. It’s definitely more of a lounge, which was not what I was looking for. We ended up trying to explore the building in the elevator which, surprise, only goes one floor. When the doors opened up right in front of the exit, we decided to ditch that place and go get some burritos and quesadillas down the street instead. Bottom line, if you wanna get your dance on, don’t go here.

I am torn on how I feel about this place. As far as ambience goes, it blows other places out of the water. My friends and I felt very«Sex and the City» while sitting in the white room, adorned in dresses and 4-inch heels, sipping on stiff cocktails and talking about men. :) I was however, a little thrown by the menu. Its«tapas» style so the portions are smaller than normal entrees and meant to be shared. I was a little disappointed only because 1) I was starving and 2) I don’t always like to share. But the food was decent. On the table we had the tempura lobster which sat in a ponzu-type sauce; bay scallops, sliders and risotto. My risotto was not the best I had. OK on flavor but the rice was too al dente and the consistency was not right. Risotto should be thick, not soupy. The sliders had good flavor as did the scallops in the sauce they sat in. I gave this place only 3 stars because I felt for how much we spent, I didn’t get a lot.

Red or white tonight? Definitely red. The red room had long chaises, low tables, a DJ and a clubby feel… perfect for getting cozy on a date… or perfect for our group of ladies to celebrate a very special birthday. The white room is beautiful, but with the tall booths, it appears a bit stuffy compared to the red room. The décor is just amazing. I especially love the graffiti wall and the shelf of candles at the top of the staircase. If you had the opportunity to go to this venue when it was the Witherby, you know just what a beautiful space it is. We began lounging on the long chaises and gossiping over vases of red gerbers. We ordered a bottle of wine… ithey had a long list and we found the perfect one for us! Then we ordered several dishes to share. We started with the pickled potatoes in crème fraîche… which were really good and had an original flavor. We then decided to share the shrimp risotto, jidori chicken, and the Waygu rib-eye. The risotto was OK, the chicken was pretty bad… I’m not sure what it was, but there definitely was a lot of bone going on, and the rib-eye was delicious. The thing is, we ordered the Waygu, but there was another more expensive rib-eye on the menu that they brought us(and we paid for as we didn’t want to make a big deal of it at a birthday dinner). The servers were all really nice. I also liked the fact that it is a restaurant/club…even on a Tuesday… which allowed us to linger for hours. Though this effort not to rush us did make it difficult for us to find a server to order another round of cocktails and desserts. They have an interesting array of cocktails. With dessert I ordered a habanero-infused tequila drink… I loved it! For dessert we had an interesting dish called«Half-baked» which was an innovative, yet a bit disorganized array of fruit, ice cream, mousse, and chocolate cookie bits. We also ordered a small caramel mousse with sea salt. That was definitely the favorite of the two. We made a big deal out of my friend’s birthday, and I can understand if they don’t give free birthday desserts, but it would have been a nice gesture to put a candle or something in the dessert we ordered. All in all, I really liked the place, but the food was just OK. I would like to go back for drinks, but the fact that it is such a large venue and we had the entire red room to ourselves(not that I’m complaining about that) makes me think it will not be around for long.

I’d give 3.5, but they’re still pretty new, so round up. I’m not a downtown guy or a scenster, so take this review as you will. Came in with a big group and reservation for dinner. No worries. They were solid with keeping water/drinks filled. Food comes out as it’s ready, which isn’t a big deal really unless for some reason(like with our table) one person’s dishes take an extremely long time. Overall the food is quick to come out, so you can order a plate and wait to see if you want more. Small-ish portions, big on flavor. I had/shared the sliders, tuna tacos and lobster tempura. Sliders were good, but I prefer Dirty Bird’s and their ½ the price. The tacos(four mini ones to a plate) were fantastic, as was the lobster. Recommend all three. We eventually ventured into the ‘red room’ next door to dance and drink some more. Up until 12:30 on a Friday, it was fairly empty and a lot of staff was hurrying around(bumping into me a little more than I wished) helping people with bottle service, but it was fine. Not as packed as I thought, but fine. Some people rocked t-shirts and sneaks, but for the price, I don’t mind throwing on a collared shirt and pretending to be a grown-up. Overall, decent place and we had a fun time. Not a regular spot for me, but it was fun to experience it.

3.5 stars. Cool Heaven/Hell theme… one side of restaurant is completely white for more of a formal dining. Red room is more loungey with everything red red red. Red walls, red lounge seats and red lighting. Music in the beginning was chill house music. They even had a violinist walking around playing to the soulful tunes! First time I’ve seen that! Then later the music progressed to your modern day hip-hop and R&B. FOOD: It is pretty pricey, but the food is flavorful. I tried the tempura shrimp which was really tasty. The burger sliders were kind of dry. I would definitely recommend reserving a lounge area if you prefer to sit. There is no designated dancing area, so you just kind of stand around and groove and bob your head wherever you’re standing. CROWD: When I went here, the crowd seemed to be pretty mixed, but definitely more of a mature crowd. Didn’t see too many people that looked like they just turned 21. But, I did see a few middle-aged men. So, I guess if you’re a cougar or looking for one… check it out!

NICELONG steps/staircase to contribute to the walk up to HEAVEN! PLace is split into two, half hell on one side and heaven on the other. Furniture and atmosphere was AMAZING. On the hell side the dancers were pretty and had a «live» violinist playing. very classy place, more like a lounge. Very social atmosphere! Check this place out for sure if youre down in the gas lamp district!

I am loving the vibe at Airr! The white room is soothing and perfect for intimate dinners or bringing a large group for a special event! The staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable about everything from the special cocktails to the food. The food is so good! I love that you can share with friends! I went with 2 others and we split one appetizer, the steak and a side dish. Everything was so yummy! The cocktails and wine selection are perfection. After dinner, it is fun to hang out in the red room and listen to some great music and enjoy more cocktails and maybe some dancing. The music is a little loud to chat in the red room… but a simple walk back to the bar at the white room, and you can chat the night away. Excited to take more friends from out of town to Airr. San Diego needed a place like this!

I was quite surprise and taken back by Airr’s décor and vibe. This isn’t your typical bar/club/lounge. It is much classy, clean and simple. Walking up the flight of stairs is not as bad, but stairs are never friendly when your drunk. This place gave off more a lounge feel than a club, but all in all I LIKE! It isn’t edgy, but a sexy kind of place. And more of a social atmosphere. I love the color contrast though– white and red. This would be a nice place to take someone on a date to then stay after hours for some drinks.

Meh, I’ve experienced better is right. Considering AIRR has only been open a few weeks I have heard, the staff made rookie mistakes even a new restaurant shouldn’t make. Three girlfriends and myself sat at the bar and ordered a couple martini’s and some wine. The bartender asked my girlfriend what was in a cosmo??? When I ordered a sav. blanc I was given a cab. I sent it back and was given a dirty look… really? We sat down in the rather uncomfortable seating area. For such a nice place I would imagine they could have invested in more seating options. The server obviously was not familiar with the menu and seemed nervous. Our food was pretty good except the sushi roll we had was chewy like the rice was overcooked. We had to ask for our check twice and the male manager seemed more interested in staring at his reflection than actually doing anything. We will probably wait until all the kinks are ironed out before we come here again again. Maybe by then AIRR will hire some decent staff who have a clue.

Second stop! Man… stairs. I swear some drunk beezy’s gon’ trip and fall coming back down… you can’t really see since it’s candle lit on every other stair. We’re first introduced to the red room, which is all red. Grabbed our drinks from the bar and sat on the couches. I loved the music they played and how they have red go go dancers. Overall the décor was really cool. From other reviews they noted that there was a New York feel… I’ve never been to New York, but I believe ya’ll. Then we walked through the white room, which is all white. I’m guessing it’s a seating and dining area. I’d want to try their food… maybe later.

This place is like Elizabeth Hurley: very classy, extremely polite, and über sexy. I applaud so much about this supper club. The all white color design is bold. The staff knows the menu, exudes enthusiasm, and attracts the opposite sex. The clear paned wine cellar is epic. The café style seating forces you to mingle with strangers, which is one of the major reasons for going out; right? And the drinks are fun. So why ruin a sexy time by talking about substance? I won’t. I’ll just say that everything from the sashimi, to the duck, to the lamb all tastes the same: good. There’s a light, truffle oil-based, herbaceous consistency to everything. But nothing really stands out or tastes like it should. But who’s really disappointed? Elizabeth Hurley may not be the smartest or have a heart of gold, but no one’s kicking her out of a party any time soon.

From a purely food standpoint, I would give Airr 3.5 stars. The menu is not particularly exciting, a lot of standard dishes which are good but nothing to go crazy about. I’ll give them 4 stars though because I think the atmosphere is really cool. It has a New York lounge type of feel. One room(the main dining room) is all white with high ceilings and modern chairs/couches for seating. The bar room is all red with large couches. Overall really spacious and a trendy vibe with some loud music going on. Came here for drinks later one night and they had a good DJ with gogo dancers, etc. We got a little tour of the place including a VIP area where they expect to have«A-listers» that includes a private elevator and windows with black-out curtains on them. They also told us that in a month or so they are opening a large downstairs section which seems to be more of a club type project, although I’m not sure where that is exactly as we weren’t able to see it yet. I was confused because Sidebar is directly below Airr if I’m not mistaken. Anyways that should be interesting. As others have noted, the tables are big and«family style.» You will probably have other parties at the end of your table as they are trying to create a social atmosphere which is pretty cool I guess. They were also going to be adding a stage for rock bands to be playing. Clfifs: Overall I had a really good time here(have eaten here twice and came just for drinks once). I love the vibe of the place but the menu is a little boring.

Came here for dinner and ended staying for the lounge/club part… Food was between 2 – 3 stars. They emphasis that it’s all family style portions for sharing but I didn’t think it was quite that. My husband and I shared 3 appetizers. The hamachi, burrata with tomatoes and the chop salad which I had to return because the menu didn’t list all the ingredients and when we got our salad saw that it had been made with salami and onions. I don’t eat meat and I thought that was important to of listed that on the menu. The three items were ok but nothing I’d leave talking about or recommend going for. The portions were definitely just enough for me and my husband to taste each one but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it «family Style». For our main entrees I had the scallops without bacon which were not very big one but served under a little spinach and 2 – 3 stalks of thin asparagus. Not worth 20 something $. It was heavily salted too which didn’t need to be since scallops are already on the salty side. My husband had the lamb which he thought was perfect. Yay! FInally:-) Dessert was the strawberries in honey which were good and simple. Hard to mess that one up. After all that we ordered I still wasn’t full. I must have a bigger stomach than most… They had reasonable priced wines and a good selection. Our server was truly amazing and so attentive. He was 5 star worthy! Thanks Chris:-) After dinner we went over to the Red Room where there was a Dj and gogo dancers. It wasn’t too crowded which was nice but it’s also very new so I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before that place gets packed. I’d go back for the bar but not the food. The overall décor of the place is beautiful! I love the all white room which is nice and spacious but still inviting. I’m curious to see how this place is after being opened a few months.
