I’ve never in my life been so disappointed with nails. I asked for stiletto shape with clear polish. They came out short and bumpy and they will not stop burning, she kept saying the chemicals were because of my body temperature. I’ve been getting nails for 5years and I have never had this problem. I didn’t see the use in telling her how hideous my nails came out I just didn’t tip her. Never get your nails done by her

Nail fungus on a fix on my second trip… really disappointed and grossed out.
What a wonderful gem in Normal Heights! Coming from go to spots in Texas, SD has been hit or miss! I came here for a year a couple years back, and revisited for. the first
! I was taken care of, my nails look wonderful (I always do pink and white) and the pedicure was relaxing and much needed. Couldnt be happier! Eventhough I live a little further, Ill be making the drive.

Johnny does a really great job. Takes his time, but not slow. I like how my nails look. Nice people run this place and the price is reasonable.

Nicest couple, always accommodating, great prices, and they definitely do have air conditioning.

I’ve been going to Adams hair design for 3 years to get my nails done. Not once did I leave dissapointed. They really do listen to what you want to get on your nails. When they get really busy. they do not act at all stressed or in a hurry. they always welcome you in with a smile :) I will keep on returning.

Reasonable prices and very friendly service. They always make time to accommodate me with my busy schedule.

The owners are some of the nicest people I have met & that is probably why I have been coming here for the last 5+ year, even after several bad nail jobs.
The location, the super cheap prices & the welcoming owners kept me coming back.
My final straw though… my damaged nails.
I get the Opi-​Gel. You are suppose to soak it till it comes off, but here they would soak for 5 minutes than grind & file it off. The results, my nails look like sh*t!
It was horrible.
I went to a different salon, had the Opi-​Gel done CORRECTLY & my nails look great now.
Also my last few mani’s I have had turned out sloppy looking:/
Suzy is a sweetheart, but I can not return to this salon…
CONS–
*the place is dirty/​dusty
*no A/​C
*I watched them use the same clippers on multiple clients– shouldnt those be sanitized.
*Watched them rinse-​out, NOT CLEAN the tubs used for pedi– shouldnt that be sanitized afer each use?
*They damage my nails when removing the Opi-​Gel.
*Parking can be tricky on the weekends.
PROS–

*very cheap prices (but you get what you pay for…)
If you want great service in a clean nail salon, definitely look elsewhere.
Spend the extra few $$ & treat yourself to somewhere with much better services.

Eh, I just can’t. I’ve tried like 15 times (takes me a minute to learn a lesson) and I just won’t go back. I want to because you are close, real close to my house. It’s dirty. Yes, I know, looks aren’t everything which is why I kept going back but I don’t think they sanitize their tools. I’m like 98% sure. I mean, I’ve never seen them come from a special bin and I see where they put them when they’re done… right back in the bin, ready for the next customer. I’ve gotten paint here many times and the last time (last straw), the paint was all over my skin. As in, not coloring within the lines.
Oh, and I almost forgot… I used to get my eyebrows waxed and 100% she puts the tongue depressor back in the wax and I believe uses the same one for multiple people. No joke. I didn’t see her throw it away when she was done with my session Nope… plop! right back in the wax. Come to think of it, it’s always in the wax already when I walk in. Not ok.
So I’m sorry, yes you could dress it up a bit aesthetically and just make it more sanitary.
The worst part is I do like the couple that run it. Very very sweet-​another reason I kept going back.
Hearing my review in my head makes me wonder what took me so long to say peace out!

I came here three times service is friendly but I think will be the last time. I just can’t stand them work on my manicure and pedicure and then work on the other clients at the same time and on top if the they are on the phone talking to god knows who while they are doing my manicure. I’m sorry but I gave them three changes and they are still the same. Like I said they are friends but their work ethic sucks.

I always come here to get my nails done. Suzy and Johnny are the best! They are really warm and friendly and do my toes and nails to perfection. They have nice big comfy massage chairs to rest in, magazines to browse through and you can be in and out in under an hour. Street parking is easy right in front too. Johnny is an excellent massage so pay the extra $$ to get a little pampered as well with a massage! They have a nice selection of polishes to pick from and if you are into the gel manicure they have plenty of colors as well.

LOVE this place! Best manicures and pedicures. Hair etc not so much. Don’t let the décor throw you.

I just went in last Saturday for a spa pedicure and regular manicure. They had a special for $ 25 for the pair of services, which is a great deal! I made an appointment for 10:00am, but ran about 10 minutes late. When I showed up, everyone was busy working with other customers and I ended up waiting 20 minutes before I was helped. I mean, I was running late, but since I called to let them know I figured that I would be able to be assisted right away. Once they started working with me, the process took about 1 hour for both services. Overall, I was pleased with the mani-​pedi. The employees were friendly. I don’t normally pay for these services because I usually paint my nails myself, but I might consider this place next time I decide to go somewhere.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The prices are reasonable and the place is pretty clean, the spa pedicure chairs are nice, but I really can’t say much beyond that.
I was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding in October and even though myself and another bridesmaid had an appointment for 10am, we didn’t get seated until almost 11… we were there an excessive amount of time because they were understaffed and kept taking in walk-​ins, as they were working on other customers!!! Really? What’s the point of making appointments if this is how they conduct their business? The woman literally told us to «hold on» at least three times to take on various tasks that had nothing to do with our nails, she waxed two people and got someone else started on a nail repair… we didn’t get out of there until nearly 2 pm, I would have walked out if I didn’t have a wedding to be in in a couple of hours. AND to make matters worse, my acrylics not only chipped after less than a week, the «gel» overlay they talked me into was tacky and little fibers began to stick to it almost immediately, making the french tips look really bad… NEVER AGAIN!
This place skimps on everything from acrylic powders/​gels to customer service. Do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more for better quality materials and customer service at a salon that respects appointments and doesn’t treat their customers like their time doesn’t matter.

Local family owned nail (& hair) place on Adams.
The prices are very reasonable and the service is good.
There are a few ‘spa’ chair to relax while getting your pedicure.

i could not NOT get my toes done up, with my fingernails matching for the kid sister show at the echoplex (la). my tips matched my jungle cat dress so wonderfully, i felt proud that i came up with the design myself. she used 4 different colors to get the match and it still didn’t take too much time.
it was a $ 35 mani-​pedi with custom french tip.
this place is never crowded — there are only two workers, but they are efficient without sparing quality — so i’ve managed to drop in on a regular basis without too much hassle or delay.
