Super dicey of a place. Gotta check my wallet periodically and wash my hands after I leave, but at least it’s convenient right next to the trolley. The 7 Eleven off J St. is better though… just say’n.

Non-english speaking cashier; Middle-eastern store clerk who thinks he rules the world and is as cool as Apu. Yes, these are typical 7 – 11 employees, but at this specific location they run a shady business, which fits quite nicely with the surrounding shady area. The store clerk is particularly an interesting character… There is no reason to go to this location since there are at least 2 other ones only a few blocks away(9th and J, Broadway and 11th).

Racist to the core!!! I am black and picked up a book of matches and asked the woman how much they were. I do not smoke and only needed them to light my religious candles! She snatched the box, hid the remainder of the matches underneath the register and said, «This time it is ok, but next time do not touch anything on the counter!» What? There are lots of things on the counter for sell! Candy., sunglasses, etc. But if a black person touches them he is accused of stealing, apparently! Do not patronize this store because they are racist. The manager later told me that many people steal the matches and that is why she did it. But obviously, since the matches are on the counter, in the open, she does not do that to everybody, just those deemed LIKELYTHIEVES. I am a black man with a PhD but that does not matter. To the racists at this 7 Eleven I am an N-WORD!
