One of the most creative menu’s I’ve ever seen! Very casual and fits the local beach atmosphere perfectly. Prices are very reasonable for food of this caliber and quality. Extremly clean and all of the staff is very friendly and attentive. Cocktails were great too but… Dem chicken and waffles tho!!! 5 stars all day every day!

Ate here yesterday with a group of friends and it was excellent! Atmosphere is casual, comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Lots of LA Kings paraphernalia around… which is right up our alley. There is a full bar and the specialty cocktails were on point. Highly recommend the TJ Mule! We tried several appetizers and three different burgers, and they were all fantastic. The PB&J burger was a standout! Fries are awesome and the brussel sprouts were out of this world! Would recommend this local spot to anyone… we’ll be back!

Next to the dmv, worth looking for a parking spot. I ordered the bleu cheese burger, great burger. A nice bun with grilled onions and a well seasoned patty. Juicy. Fries were good, and the place was clean with a nice place for lunch feel. A bit pricy for a beer even on happy hour, service was good, some dude. I I recognize the computer they use, it’s for only counter service ideally, but the guy manages when it’s not busy at least. Will come back.

We tried Poche Burger for the first time today. It’s located next to the DMV and is very casual… inside and out. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect, since other establishments have come and gone, but since the reviews were so high, we thought«why not». Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. The Burgers were delicious! We had Poche Burgers with Aged Cheddar and a Blue Cheese Burger. All 3 cooked to order perfectly! The Toasted Brioche Buns were a nice treat and their fries are really good too… crispy, salty, and served in a small fryer basket! We also ordered the Garlic Rosemary Parmesan Fries… yumm! Sometimes Garlic Fries can sometimes be so overwhelming to keep everyone away, but these were just right! All 3 flavors came together nicely. We did have to wait a bit longer than usual for our food, but I attribute this to it being Valentines Day. I think they thought they were going to be slow… surprise! But they handled it well. We’ll definitely be back to try different Burgers, their different Beers on Tap, and their Full Bar too while watching the many TV’s that surround the restaurant.

Creative pairings — great flavor — top burger Poche’s burgers rise to the top of my list. Amazing meat with creative pairings for toppings. We had the Jalepeno Cream Cheese Burger and the Poche Beach Burger. The grilled, toasted circular buns plus the amazingly cooked meat is what really won me over. It seems like the space is a bit big for what they need, however, maybe it fills up during a Kings game or on «family burger night,» ha. If I had to pick a downfall: the fries didn’t impress me. I had the truffle fries and they were your standard, thin potato fries. Next time, I’ll come back for the Kobe burger and to watch a game. Definitely going back.

This is our second visit. The food just gets better and better. Service is always good and now they have added some great side plates like roasted Brussels sprouts and roasted cauliflower. Shrimp tacos are nice and spicy too. Love this little local joint.

What a great place! So happy we found it. Fries are delicious burger are great and a good size! I am always so full afterwards, in a good way! :) very reasonable and love that they are dog friendly outside. The beach is right there it would be awesome if the complex was turned around but still awesome. Service is great and everyone is so attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning soon and on a regular basis.

burgers and fries are excellent. drinks and bartender were both awesome. atmosphere is nice and the place is convenient. GET A KIDSMENUPLEASE! would be nice to bring the family here but no kids menu is a deal breaker for regular visits with family. Just the basics are fine. nuggets, dogs, G cheese, burger. $ 8 with a small drink would be sweet. Until then it’s when I’m flying solo or with wife and/or friends.

So stoked on finding this place! Food– Awesome jalapeño cream cheese burger with super fresh cut jalapeños and a cooked to perfection patty. Seriously, stupid good. Friend had their chicken and waffles which were super unique and very tasty. Everything about the menu seemed like they really cared about the food and the ingredients mirrored that sentiment. Drinks– I think there might have been specials but not totally sure. I would have liked to have seen a drink menu and list of beers at the table. No deal breaker or anything but it’s always cool to see what specialities I can burn some cash on while I’m waiting. I ended up with a run of the mill Stella when I would have happily ordered something double the cost if it was more presented. Could be more visible if at the bar, not sure, but wasn’t readily available as a diner. Location– nice sized bar for a local spot and a good amount of seating. Tvs and stuff. Like that they kept the old corkys sign, cool to keep the local history alive. Would 100% recommend and will be back soon to try more!

Came here with six of my coworkers on a Friday around 3 – 330 pm. I ordered the Kobe Burger and thought it was pretty good. These burgers aren’t your traditional burgers. If I were to explain these burgers, I would say that they use circular, toasted sandwich bread as their buns. They were smaller than I hoped, but proved to be surprisingly filling; they also come with French fries. I really enjoyed my burger. You also have the option of upgrading your fries to garlic fries or sweet potato fries for some extra $. Get the garlic fries. They’re pretty great. Our waitress was awesome. She was friendly and even let every single one of us get a split check. The only negative thing I would have to say about this place is that they took FOREVER to make our food. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, this is not the place. Staffing is a limited, so prepare to be patient.

Well the burger quality is evident. They claim 100% Angus beef, and we’re actually able to produce a medium rare temp for a tasty experience. The patties are quite thick, which makes that much easier to accomplish. The toasted sourdough slices as a bun is a really nice touch as well as the grilled purple onions. The«Poche Burger» for $ 7.95 including fries is actually a solid deal for a yummy burger. I had a bite of my kids’ poches who couldn’t finish them. There are no kid meals or kid meal pricing, so the poche is your best bet. If you have young kids you could probably split one as they come with a decent size basket of fries. They had a bunch of flavored burgers, which I may try another time. I actually did the bacon burger for $ 9.75, which wasn’t anything special. I don’t even remember tasting the bacon, so no point in ordering that again. I also ordered the«garlic and rosemary» fries. I’VEBEENHAD! The burgers all come with a basket of fries anyway, but they charge $ 4 extra for some inconsistently spread garlic purée and some sprinkled spices. C’mon people. It was WEAK and honestly kept me from giving this place 5 stars. They did a good job renovating this spot. The location isn’t the swankiest being next to the DMV and Salvation Army store, but close to Poche Beach, and clearly a good meal for a decent value if you know what to order. The appeared to have a nice selection of microbrews as well.

I wanted to like. Forget that, I wanted to love! This didn’t happen for me or hubby but I would probably give Poche another chance/shot as it had a good vibe, friendly service thanks to Frankie, awesome gal! Perhaps my taste in meat has changed but I had a hard time eating the medium rare special Poche Steakhouse burger. I say rare and hubby said no, a perfect medium rare. We’ll agree to disagree and give this local spot in San Clemente another try! Standouts: the truffle fries and yes you could taste the truffle. Also amazing was the fact that the fries were crispy and I normally dislike that but these were very tasty!!! The garlic aioli on my burger was fab. The strawberry limeade hubby said was really good and Frankie did warn re tartness, so Rohlin adjusted it a bit with some sugar. Advice: be forewarned, the chef owner will not cook the burger over medium temp, so if you prefer it killed, then this is probably not the burger joint for you.

Sooooo delicious! Currently waiting for my number at the dmv but I needed some food. Got the wonton salad & cream cheese filled wontons. So yummy & flavorful! Stacey is very nice & helpful. Relaxing atmosphere & clean inside too. A little pricey but worth it! I can’t wait to come back with my husband & daughter!

It was another Saturday night and you know what that means … another bookmark bites the dust. Funny thing about bookmarks, for every one I get rid of … two more take its place … they don’t die, they multiply! This location is less than a mile from the beach and there was a nice sea breeze the night we visited. Unfortunately, the restaurant( ) faces away from the ocean, so there is no view to be had here. The location has recently changed ownership and if Unilocal reviews are to be believed, the current incarnation is a huge improvement over the prior( ) establishment. When we entered, we were warmly greeted by Frankie who was not only the bartender for the evening, but was also working all the tables. We were told to find a table( ) anywhere and she would be over in a minute to get our drink order. The restaurant probably serves about 30 diners between the tables and bar area. There were two television, one above the bar and one above our half booth. In addition, there are a couple of tables outside in a makeshift patio area. Within a few minutes, Frankie came over to our table and took our drink order. The better half went with her usual Iced Tea( ) and I ordered a Strawberry Limeade. Frankie did warn me the limeade was a little tart and even gave me a sample before I ordered. She was correct about the tartness, but that was nothing a little sugar couldn’t fix. Laina seemed to enjoy the Iced Tea and it is always a plus when drinks come in mason jars. After we had some time to go over the menu, Frankie came back and took our order. My better half decided to go with a Dinner Special the Poche Steakhouse Burger( ) which is a 16 oz. black angus patty with grilled onions(Laina wanted raw instead), aged cheddar cheese, tomato, garlic aioli and ketchup on a brioche bun. My wife was allowed a free upgrade to truffle fries. I settled on the Chorizo Burger( ) with a homemade chorizo patty, fried sunny side up egg, salsa verde and garlic aioli on a brioche bun with regular fries. I also added aged cheddar to the burger. Rohlinism: Never order ethnic food at a restaurant that doesn’t represent that ethnicity! The food came out in a reasonable period of time, but there were some issues. My lovely wife’s burger( ) was cooked to the medium rare she requested, but it ended up being under cooked for her palate(she had a hard time enjoying the burger), but I have to give props to Poche(owner /chef pronounced Poe-chee) for knowing his temperatures and for not cooking his meats beyond medium. If you want to gnaw on shoe leather, you will have to do it someplace else. I will usually recommend ordering meats one temperature scale under what you like when eating at places that are less refined because usually the place will overcook the meat. Feel free to order the right temperature here cause Poche has got your back. Laina did enjoy the truffle fries and you could definitely tell the difference between those fries and the regular fries. The brioche bun was also nice and buttery and quality of ground beef used was evident in the taste. My chorizo burger was a bit of a disappointment. I didn’t really get the heat or flavor I usually get from chorizo and the egg with slightly overcooked. The real star was the garlic aioli which added some welcome flavor to the burger. The bun was just as soft and buttery as the bun my better half was served. The service was friendly and efficient throughout. The place seemed to pick up business as our meal progressed and the crowd seems local /regular for the most part with a fair share of to go orders mixed in with the dine in eaters. I would probably go back and get a regular burger and leave the chorizo to Mexican restaurants!

Came here on a Sat. morn at 11:30 am and we were the only ones there. I got the bacon cheeseburger and asked for it medium-rare, but got medium instead. The burger had grilled onions, thousand island dressing, lettuce & tomato. The bun is a toasted brioche — nothing special about it, in my opinion. The meat also lacked flavor. The burger came with a basket of fries. Service was good, as we were the only ones there. They’re located in a strip mall near Salvation Army. Overall I’d give this place 3−½ stars. It’s good, but there are better burger places out there.

This place certainly has potential food wise, but is lacking in service. This place is small and located in a shopping plaza near the DMV. This place… hmmmm how do I say this… Service was weird… esp when our order was taken by the cook(mind you it wasn’t busy maybe about 3 other parties before us and 2 other parties after us). The«waitress» was very short with us and the only things she said to us was«the bathroom is occupied» and«will that be all» but was super friendly and joking to the other tables. Maybe it was a «local» thing… Shout-out to the cook though, who not only took our order but gave us our food… Other than the service, the food was decent. Really simple burgers. I got a simple chicken sandwich that came with avocados and grilled onions(«The Hoot»). They did cut the top of the bun off and grilled the bread which was interesting. All sandwiches were served with fries. Its plenty of parking and the food is inexpensive!
