This place is a gem! Delicious sandwiches, many different meat/fish steaks to choose from, and nothing is priced crazy. I am looking forward to trying more of what they offer, everything has been so good!

Great local deli. Reminds us of Germany where every town has local butcher shops and bakeries where people pick up fresh meat and bread daily. The seafood is fresh and meat is great for grilling.

We went to Billy’s Deli yesterday(the first time for all 3 of us), and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. When we got there, there was a line. Ok, good, other people like the place. Then I saw a sign walking you through the steps to order a sandwich and immediately my mind drifted to «The Soup Nazi» episode from Seinfeld! Instead, those steps are just a friendly, helpful guideline and the gentleman at the cash register taking the orders couldn’t have been nicer, more patient, or more helpful. The line moved efficiently; there was not an unreasonable wait, all orders were correct and really, really good! Satisfying portions too, which is always nice. I had also gotten the double chocolate, Macadamia nuts(?) cookie… kind of the perfect finish :) I liked the efficient, friendly vibe(once I realized the Seinfeld episode was a figment of my imagination and had NOTHING to do with this place). There are choices galore here and besides our small group of 3, there seemed to be quite a few people enjoying their choices as well in the pleasant, outdoor patio area. I liked the town and I really liked this place, so if I get down this way again I would love to try more items on their menu. I think this place would make most anyone quite happy. Many, many really good choices; a place to come to again and again if you’re lucky enough to live close enough to be able to

Great meat counter and seafood counter. Also has an awesome wine and beer selection in addition to a frat deli featuring a variety of freshly made sandwiches. There’s even a bakery selection offered here. Great place for lunch!

A solid place to get a sandwich! I have not tried their butcher, but that department looks very good! There is a patio in the back to eat, but why not take a sandwich, salad, or treat to the beach!

Friendly sandwich makers. You will not stumble upon this great little place. Thanks to Unilocal this place was found. A girl at a pastry shop said Billy’s has the best sandwiches and according to my whole family she was right. Bread is fresh and their meat selection looks amazing but we only picked up sandwiches for the beach which they wrapped in butchers plastic and double bagged so it would not get soggy in the cooler.

Ridiculously tasty. This place is huge! If I lived locally I would definitely trust his place to come by to buy meat to grill. Instead me and my boyfriend stop here to get a sandwich. I ordered the capicolli on squaw bread. He got the poor boy. We both agreed– best sandwiches we’ve EVER had. The taste is just fantastic! Also ordered ½ lb of pasta salad & ½ lb chipotle macaroni. Both just meh! Not a ton of flavor & both just needed something more. With 2 sandwiches, 2 ½ lb sides, 20 oz dr pepper &32 oz Snapple, you are looking at $ 25 cost.

I’ve been to Billy’s numerous times. Great to grab some chicken salad to go to make sandwiches for home or the beach. The best part of Billy’s are the butcher and seafood counters. Billy Burgers have jalapeño, cheese and bacon in them: a must to take and grill at home(but have the Tums handy)! I tried a couple of salads on the side to take home(olive and summer) but both were lackluster. I’ve also had a deli sandwich there, specifically the veggie on multiple occasions, and their sandwiches are great. Huge, lots of veggies, customizable! So, if you need chicken salad, burgers, sandwiches, or fresh seafood, Billy’s is the spot. Stay away from the deli case salads. And pick up some Carmel Turtle Cookies on your way out!

My husband and I love coming here every Sunday after he gets his haircut in town. We always pick up soup bones for our dog that are in a freezer by the entrance, a pound of sliced turkey for sandwiches, and sliced cheese. We are in love with their deli meat. We switch it up every Sunday and we cannot wait to get home to make sandwiches of our own. We have yet to order sandwiches at the deli counter itself, but we definitely cannot get enough of their selection. The service is also amazing. Everyone is super sweet and it is always the same people every weekend and usually the same customers as well. When we move back to the bay area, we know we won’t find another deli like this one!

I live down the street and have been meaning to try it out. Once you walk in looks like an old deli. The sandwiches aren’t even the best part of this place. It’s the meat and seafood they sell. I like smoking brisket and needed to find a good butcher shop. I had the Pastrami and Brisket sandwich hot. It was quite good, but not the best one I’ve had. The brisket wasn’t as moist and tender as I expected and the pastrami was good. Hate to take away from the meal bc it was quite good. My girl got the tuna sandwich, which I thought was better then mine. The outdoor seating is nice with a bunch of locals just chatting. There is a fountain and shop around it which seems to set a nice vibe.

Billys Meats Seafood and Deli is one of OC’s best Butcher Shops. When ever I am in south county and the urge to grill strikes, I look no further than Billy’s in San Clem. You will be hard pressed to find a better Butcher in OC, or anywhere for that matter. Steak, Tri Tip, Chicken Ribs, Sausages… you name it, Billy’s offers it with superlative quality. The Deli is also no joke, offering dozens of house made salads and sides. The secret has been out for a while now, so you can expect long longs at peak hours, but trust that the wait is worth your while. I only wish they were closer to home!

This Nicanor guy is on the crazy pills. I’ve had the prosciutto sandwich many times and it’s always been amazing. All their sandwiches have been nothing but stellar. The poor boy and meatloaf sandwiches are on point!(Try them on a grilled French roll). I live across the street and this place is a perfect weekend lunch spot. To either eat on the patio or to take back home. The meat market part is great too. I’ve had some unbelievable porterhouse steaks from this place. All the chicken/beef/fish have always been fresh and top notch. Thanks guys!

Amazing little meat market and deli right in downtown San Clemente. I love the fact that all their sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head products which are which have no fillers, preservatives, and no gluten, how awesome is that. They have a variety of salads, the italian pasta salad was very delicious and they also carry a variety of sides, desserts, chips and fresh fruit. This little store sells fresh meats, seafoods, and deli meats by the pound. Order a sandwich they are really delicious. The turkey on wheat with avocado was so good. Buy one to eat in their pretty little relaxing patio or take one to go and walk down the beach and enjoy it there. Super convenient and don’t forget a drink because they have a wide variety available here as well. Best little deli in San Clemente.

I love the outdoor seating /inside deli and market. This reminds me of the San Pedro restaurants by the pier or the Fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco. You can buy deli meats by the pound as well as raw assorted meats to bring home and cook. They have pasta salads and other tasty sides as well as items for a really nice appetizer plate; yum! There is also numerous sandwich options and both bottled drinks and soda on tap to make it a meal if you want to eat right then and there in the outside patio. I gave them kudos for the giant spice rack by the drinks which was a bit random but very convenient if you buying raw meat and are missing a extra ingredient. No one ever was short on the spice of life!

I read on Unilocal about the excellent sandwiches at Billy’s Meats Seafood and Deli so I popped in while passing through Southern Orange County. I ordered the Cappicola sandwich, listed on the menu(and sandwich board) under«Italian Favorites». Cappicola is Italian seasoned pork shoulder, and quite honestly we seldom see it in Southern California. That’s a shame, because it makes for a fantastic sandwich. The Billy’s menu says the Cappicola is «hot and spicy» but my sandwich really had only a little heat. No matter — it was delicious. At the recommendation of the conoissiour behind the counter, I had mine hot on a toasted French roll with lettuce, tomato, baby Swiss and Italian dressing. I ate in the cute interior courtyard with lots of seating. The menu and all the umbrellas and stuff inside too all say Boar’s Head and feature the Boar’s Head logo. I’m thinking the brand must have paid for that advertising or the stuff itself, which is fine but it does sort of undermine the market’s local charm. The menu says Billy’s is where the locals go. I definitely got that vibe. Billy’s is mostly a cute local market with with sandwiches over a high butcher counter. Even the baked goods looked amazing. The menu also says Billy’s has«The Best Sandwiches this Side of New York». Let’s not get carried away, but yes, they’re pretty darn good.
