Great bedside manner. Will spend as much time with you as you feel that you need and will listen to every one of your concerns in as much detail as you’d like to get into. I never leave her office feeling unsure of my diagnosis or the next steps I should take, or unclear about anything. Not«as good as it gets(5 stars)» because Dr. Pachon is a bit symptom-focused when it comes to more difficult-to-diagnose conditions(example below). When I went to her with chronic back pain(almost 10 years) she didn’t agree with me on the cause of my back pain(when I was in high school I was constantly lifting very heavy weights with my back and not my legs for hours at a time) and told me I had to do 6 weeks of physical therapy before she’d consider an MRI. It wasn’t until I hurt myself ATVing that she opened up and said«now we can do something about it,» which was kind of discouraging. I shouldn’t have(unintentionally) hurt myself to get a doctor to take my back pain seriously. However, she is a great family doctor for all the«standard» stuff and you can tell she really cares about you. She has given me great tips on weight loss and the like and is never judgmental at all.

Dr. Pachon is a great listener. She’s super empathetic and knowledgeable– I feel confident that I’m getting great care with her! I’ve had tough doctors in the past, and seeing her was kind of like a breath of fresh air. I like the nurses in the office. very friendly! Another perk– I had no problem getting in to see her within the week… not sure if that’s standard but it was really nice!

Dr. Pachon is very sweet, and for everyday colds or small things, I’d go to her again. However, when I saw her about concerns that I was beginning to have hypothyroid symptoms despite being on medication to treat it, she was resistant to running the appropriate tests(TSH is not a reliable test for someone on thyroid medication), and basically refused to test my Free T3 even though my insurance would cover it. She said natural thyroid meds are not well regulated(misinformation), but would not refer me to an endocrinologist despite our disagreement of how she was managing my thyroid. She ran some other tests and told me it looked as though I had PCOS. After spending several months thinking I had PCOS(and unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant for almost a year), I sought the help of a reproductive endocrinologist who told me that not only had she not done all the necessary tests to diagnose me with PCOS, but that my thyroid levels were not in an appropriate range for conception or pregnancy. Turns out, I do not have PCOS and didn’t need the Metformin she put me on. All that being said, she is quick to respond to emails and phone calls, and she returns them herself and is good about answering questions. If you are a patient with hormone or endocrine issues, I’d find someone who knows a little more about those issues.
