Haven’t experienced anything like what the negative reviewers here describe. Stopped by on Friday around 12:30. 5 – 7 people were in the line before me, but I waited only 3 minutes before ordering from the large board on the wall. The young guy behind the counter took my order quickly and pleasantly. I then paid the older gentleman at the cash register. My sandwich was done in under 3 minutes. I took it to-go. Very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Young guys and gal hustling to get the orders done quickly. Nobody cursed or was rude or anything close to what the other reviewers describe. I walked back home and ate my sandwich there. It was awesome(I ordered #1 from the large board). Crunchy bread, great sauce, fresh ingredients. Overall, excellent experience and well worth the cost. Of course I’ll go back to The Sandwich Spot whenever I crave a good sandwich in the future.

Stupid. Can’t order except from the guys making sandwiches. You can only pay at the register. Lunch hour makes for an incredibly long wait while the sandwich guys don’t have time to even take your order. It’s not like you can place your order and come back. The sandwiches are ok but nothing so excellent that I can’t walk down the street to numerous other places. Never again.

The service here is terrible. A bunch of teenage bros with attitudes. Today while making sandwiches for the guy in front me, one of the bros swore not once, not twice, but three times while complaining loudly about wanting to go on break. Seriously? It was like this in the old location across the street and I stopped going. Things can change, so decided to give it another try. Same story. Disinterested staff. No greeting, just several guys standing around staring hoping you’ll engage with anyone but them. Finally one took my order, but had to confirm what I wanted four times because he was too busy complaining and goofing off to just make the damn sandwiches. The RWC location is not like this. Though I like the sandwiches better at Ike’s, the service is good and the atmosphere fun at the RWC Sandwich Spot so I usually head there instead. Why is it so bad in San Carlos? Just head to Bianchini’s if you’re in San Carlos and want a decent deli sandwich.

This is the best sandwich place in the bay area and the employees and owner are very nice it’s like coming into a family sandwich restaurant! I have flown 3000 miles just to eat at the sandwich place that’s how good it is!!! I am happy to say that now I only live 30 minutes away from it!!!

I love the sandwiches here. The owner cares about his customers & is very nice. I’ve been coming here for 3 years on & off. They always have my favorite dutch crunch bread & it’s freshly made every day. So if they are out of a bread it doesn’t make me upset because it shows that he doesn’t buy it, it’s freshly made. The good bread hoes fast & not the owners fault. The sandwiches are so good that my twin 5 year olds eat it all up with no complaints. The staff is always very friendly & eager to help you figure out what you want.

Lunch hour, second time ordering my sandwich and no Dutch Crunch bread. Second time idiotic excuse«we sold out». This time I walked out — I refuse support businesses that don’t care about their customers. If you sold out, post it somewhere so perhaps I don’t have to stand in line. Secondly, how hard is to do your inventory and ensure that you have enough bread to cover at least your main business line, lunch hour. Is this a sandwich shop???

Dropped by this morning for coffee. I’ve never been there before, since I’m new to the area. I ordered an ice mocha. It was very good and didn’t have too much ice. One thing I did notice is there are no prices posted. That’s a turn off. The menu looked good and I may go back to try the food.

so i was working and i been to the sandwich spot in redwood city downtown and i though hey maybe it’s the same good friendly people excellent sandwiches. so i thought hey maybe i won’t drive too redwood city and try it here. one of my coworkers asked me to bring him a menu back so he can take a look at it. so i walk in i see an older person attending and next too me was a big tall guy. i asked the older guy hey how are you can i look at a menu? and the tall guy responded very rood he told me(hey theirs a big menu in front of you can’t you see it) in a very violent voice and i felt like he was offending me because i had glasses for my vision. i just turned around and walked away. will never go back their again. verry bad service big buffy guy. my recommend place to go is sand-witch spot in redwood city down town friendly people at 110% .if your having a bad day these people will make your day plus they have a huka sessions out side out door patio with heaters so if its cold and hip hop music tvs you name it. you can wach sport games it has everything you can name. its the spot too chill with fam friends and have a good night this sand-witch spot is the best in down town redwood city, great customer service ever. try it out dont miss out. they also have beer and wine!

Yummy sandwich! We came from Filoli garden and was looking for a place to eat lunch. This place is awesome! Their sandwiches are made to order but they are huge portions. Ordered the four bagged and the roast beef sandwich. Both of which are tasty at a reasonable price. Staffs are friendly too!

These guys are awesome! Super friendly and go above and beyond with service. My 15 month old was getting restless while I waited for my breakfast sandwich and they gave her a cookie and some milk — no charge! Super sweet — this is the kind of neighborhood service that you rarely see anymore, but will definitely make us customers for life! Sandwiches are also very good.

It’s been a few years since I had a sandwich here. I have no excuse. Because I drive by here every morning to work and reminisce about the first roast beef sandwich I had. Like most sandwich places, if you don’t tell them light or opt out completely, you’ll get a heavy spread of condiments.(That was my first roast beef sandwich although deliciously good with all that tasty cream cheese.) I had no idea what their secret sauce was. I was curious. So I enjoyed the Ace with everything but the mayo and mustard. The secret sauce is actually a light touch of what tastes like butter, garlic and herbs on your bread. I really liked that it wasn’t a thick messy spread. Once, I returned to my office, I devoured the generous portions of pastrami and enjoyed the entire process with fresh nuances of ingredients between that soft SF sourdough bread tapping my taste buds.(I’m reliving the moment as I write this although it’s dinner time.) They have moved across the street and have a fancier looking spot. I am inspired to stop for a coffee and see what’s cooking for breakfast. I’m looking forward to my next sandwich. This is the spot!

The sandwich spot moved and so did their prices. 2 sandwiches 2 bags of chips $ 25. No hair nets, and no prices listed. The blonde lady doesn’t wear a hairnet nor to the servers with facial hair. the sandwiches were good let’s see how they are now. Shop was much larger in the old location plus now you roast in the noon sun while waiting in line. The old location had shade outside plus a nice patio. 10 – 20 mind for lunch. Lots of rich white ppl. No more back patio where you can watch the giants games. No more bathrooms either.

Super friendly staff, quick turn around, & extensive menu. I think I ordered the wrong thing, but the ingredients were fresh & good. They were out of avocado which is kinda a big deal for a sandwich place around lunch time. Would probably give them a second chance just because they were quick, friendly and the ingredients tasted fresh, but maybe missing a wow factor of an amazing sandwhich spot.

Sherry from The Sandwich Spot in San Carlos was awesome for the Home Depot District 50 meeting. The luncheon was fresh with generous portions. It was a no brainier on my end to state what I was looking for and the rest was considered done.

I guess I couldn’t stay away. Still can’t make a sandwich the way you order it. I asked no onions. I got onions and no sauces what so ever. I’ve been here 4 times total now and never had a sandwich made the way I’ve asked. I’ve even asked for a sandwich the way it came on the menu and still had it made wrong.

Outstanding sandwich shop… worth a visit! Happened to be in the area around lunch time and found this little gem via Unilocal. So glad I did! Huge selection of all kinds of sandwiches… so many choices, great selections of toppings and bread, and nice people. Loved the pastrami, swiss, sourkraut, on awesome sourdough roll. Delicious experience… and will be back to try all 24+ varieties of their sandwiches! Worth a visit!

This is probably one of the best sandwich places around. The Carlmont Scot is a great choice, but I have to say — I just tried the NEW Chef Curry that has a honey siracha sauce and its unbelievable. My new fav. Their cookies are amazing too. YUM.

On Saturday, 7÷5÷14, my Mom and I just had a horrible brunch at Piacere in downtown San Carlos. We were still hungry. I heard a lot of great reviews about the Sandwich Spot. I told my Mom since we didn’t have a good brunch we should go give the Sandwich Spot a try. My Mom was cool with my idea so we went to the Sandwich Spot which was only about 3 minutes from where we were at. I’m so glad I went to the Sandwich Spot because this is one of my new favorite Sandwich places! Atmosphere/Décor: There are a few tables to sit at outside of Sandwich Spot. When you walk in, there’s another table to the right where you can sit down and eat at. There are a lot of Sports Jerseys hanging up on the walls which is pretty cool to look at. I also noticed there were a few benches and tables in a patio area towards the rear of Sandwich Spot. There were two plasma screen TVs outside of the restaurant in the patio area. There were a few TV remote controllers on the benches and tables. I thought the plasma TVs were a great idea because you can eat your sandwich and watch TV at the same time. The TV remote controllers are an added benefit because you don’t ever have to ask someone to change the channel. Food: Even though I eat chicken every day during the week, I decided to go with the #11 The Belly Putter(marinated chicken, teriyaki, bbq, bomb sauce, and choice of cheese) on a sweet roll with lettuce and pickles. The sandwich was one of the best tasting sandwiches I’ve ever had! The chicken was beyond tender and flavorful! The chicken tasted amazing! It seemed like it was marinated for at least a few days. The sweet roll was very fresh and soft. The teriyaki, bbq and bomb sauce brought out even more flavors in the sandwich. I liked the bomb sauce a lot! My Mom ordered the #16 The Pick and Roll(hot turkey, cream cheese, avocado, and bomb sauce) on San Francisco sourdough with lettuce and pickles. She loved her sandwich and thought it tasted really good! She gave me a bite of her sandwich and I thought it tasted very good as well. I liked the creaminess of the avocado and cream cheese. The turkey tasted very fresh. The sourdough roll was warm and soft. The sourdough roll had the classic San Francisco taste to it. My Mom ended up giving me about a quarter of her sandwich. I devoured the piece of sandwich she gave me in few seconds. Service: When we walked into the Sandwich Spot there were four male employees waiting to make sandwiches. When my Mom ordered her sandwich, one of the male employees told her to choose who she wants to make her sandwich. My Mom decided to go with the same guy that told her to choose between the four employees. When my Mom choose her sandwich maker, the guy that ended up making my sandwich said that was a bad decision because he is the newest. I thought that was pretty funny and glad he wasn’t making my sandwich(I knew it was joke. He was a good sandwich maker because my Moms sandwich tasted really good!) All of the guys that work at the Sandwich Spot were very professional and down to earth! They were all cool! They were friendly and sociable. Overall: I’ve heard about the Sandwich Spot for quite some time now. I’ve read really good reviews on Unilocal about the Sandwich Spot. The Sandwich that I had at the Sandwich Spot was phenomenal. Ike’s Place/Lair is my favorite Sandwich place to eat at. The Belly Putter sandwich at the Sandwich Spot was so damn delicious, I think it will give Ike’s a run for its money! The Belly Putter was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten in my life! I’m looking forward to trying more sandwiches from the Sandwich Spot. If you want a great sandwich, hit up the Sandwich Spot! These sandwiches are legit and off the chain!
