Didn’t like Thai food until I ate at Sirayvah. The flavors are complex, delicious and its all organic! Haven’t found a thing I don’t like here yet. They’re especially good with fish. Green curry halibut is my favorite. Its not always in season, so red curry salmon is a close second.

Expensive and small portions. Vegetables were fresh but tofu that came in my curry tasted sour, expired. I know what tofu tastes like. Soup was served lukewarm along with service which was also lukewarm and unfriendly. By the female owner. Unfortunately I fell for their 4 star rating. Skip! Wish I had.

Excellent food and organic, does it get better? The Tom Ga soup is amazing. Love the chicken curry and everything else I have ordered here. The people are cheerful and relaxed but attentive. Kid friendly. Perfection.

As an update, this is still my restaurant of choice on the Peninsula! I have been here more than a dozen times over the years and it is consistently excellent menu & food, excellent presentation, excellent service. I’m getting hungry just writing this.

3.5 stars The Tom Ka soup is a MUST. The flavors are absolutely incredible and it’s surprisingly light for coconut milk. Best part is a small /medium size bowl is only $ 4. I wish they offered larger sizes! Other highlights: — menu is very vegetarian friendly — organic(be prepared to spend a few more $ per dish. ex: avg $ 12 – 14) — super fresh ingredients — nicer atmosphere than other San Carlos Thai restaurants — plenty of parking Not so great: — vegetarian spring rolls that are just lettuce and carrots will set you back $ 8 — dishes could be a little bit more flavorful(minus the amazing soup) — weird service. Last time I ate here we had to argue with our waiter to bring us an extra side of sauce. He firmly believed we didn’t need any more sauce and it took a good couple of minutes to convince him to bring us a second dish(we were sharing something that required dipping). This was so odd and it made us feel really uncomfortable. Overall: Decent spot. I’ve eaten here a few times and would come back again. If you’re looking for an organic, vegetarian friendly Thai restaurant check out Sirayvah.

Went to this restaurant because it had a 4 star rating, average expense, and great food images. The reality is, proportion is super small(left hungry), high cost(1⁄3 higher than other Thai restaurants), average taste(nothing special here) might as well go to downtown San Mateo and pay 8 dollars less for the same quality. In conclusion, this place is a rip off.

Man, I used to love this place, but I took my friend here for her bday and we waited over an hour and a half for our food while all of the tables around us got thier food and we had only 15 mins to down our food quickly before we had to leave. When I said something to the manager, I discovered that it was his fault that our food got so delayed. We got a very small discount to our bill, which didn’t leave us feeling taken care of. The server even forgot one of our entrees. We unfortunately were regulars, but will never be back. The manager/server didn’t own the mistakes he made and turned what was supposed b a grand evening into a rushed, aggravated affair. We feel quite sad about this, but we’re going to find a new organic Thai place.

The locals know! Organic and zero GMO smokes a huge difference! I asked a group, «What’s the best place for the most excellent Thai food?» They each sent me here! Ambiance, cleanliness, super fresh, organic, your choice of heat, families welcomed as well as single diners, Food was exceptional in flavor, portion and presentation. Exquisite wine selection. Fresh, young coconut iced cream.

This is an okay Thai place. Their specialty is organic Thai food which I have never seen anywhere else and I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai places. Their menu has most of the standard items you’d see at most Thai places. I believe they only serve brown rice though so if you’re looking for white rice you’re going to have a bad time. The portion sizes of each dish were quite small. I could have finished one dish and probably still want more food, which is telling since I don’t eat that much normally. We got three dishes for three people and we cleaned the plates quite early. The chili lamb looked good on paper but I didn’t think the flavor was there. It was not spicy at all! The basil chicken was decent, although I probably could have used more sauce. The pad see ew was actually quite good flavor wise but the noodles felt a bit sparse. They were also a bit thinner than I usually see them(more like flat noodles as opposed to the flat sheets I usually see). The tapioca pudding with corn was crazy. The tapioca was green and the dish wavered between hot and cold. I think it could have been a lot better if it were all out cold. The dinner was rather expensive for the portion size. My boyfriend commented on the freshness of the ingredients but given the small portion sizes, the okay flavors, and the price I probably would go to other places if I had to pick.

I picked this restaurant based on Unilocal 4 stars reviews after I found out Chao Praya thai restaurant in San Mateo was close. I thought the restaurant settings and ambiance was quite nice with plenty of parking. However, portions are small, food is not authentic. The waitress was unfriendly and seemed to favor certain customer based on skin color… We were refused a table near the window which was later given to other customers who just walked in.

My favorite Thai joint in the area! Fresh and delicious… Great for a date or for the bros… Hot sauce is on super fleek! Spiced up and sweat…

My daughter is gluten sensitive. From Unilocal’s review, I thought we found a good place to get Thai food. Am I wrong… Next morning after we dine here at night, she has a reaction. I tested the leftover food that we brought back from Sirayvah using EZgluten test strips. Guess what, the foods that they said are gluten free are tested positive. Over all the experience at the restaurant were not good either. It was our 1st time there. When I asked the waitress about which items on their menu are gluten free, the waitress rudely(slight angrily) replied that all are gluten free except if she tells me so. How should I know if it is not written on the menu and it was our 1st time there. While we were ordering pad thai, since she did not say it has gluten and I have doubt about it, I asked again to make sure it is gluten free. She sounded annoyed by me and told me again that she would tell me if any thing I order has gluten. The food was on the pricey side for Thai food. Each dish was between $ 15-$ 23 unless it was vegetarian. Food portion was on the small side. Since they claimed it’s gluten free(or even organic?), I thought the price is alright if it is true. As for taste, it’s slightly below average for us. In summary, –rude –expensive –below average taste for us -*** most importantly ***, if restaurant claim the food are gluten free, they have to make sure THEYAREGLUTENFREE. I feel they either lied to us or callous about claiming something that is not. I wouldn’t trust them about organic either. There is no way for their customer to verify at all.

Tasty Asian food ;the vegetables are very fresh. We split the green curry, brown rice, and the eggplant and vegetables dish. Everything was really good. My other friend ordered the lamb. He said it wasn’t very spicy. We asked for their hot sauce and their hot sauce is super fresh and has a slight Indian flavor with garlic, spice, and ginger. The eggplant dish was good… not deep fried and crazy greasy like typical eggplant dishes at Asian restaurants. The food was good overall. I like San Carlos and will probably return but I thought it could have been more flavorful. I liked the hot sauce more than some of the dishes, which is probably not a good thing. 4 stars for freshness and amount of veggies given.

This place is great! Everytime we order from, or eat here, my husband raves about the food. There really is a difference between this place and others. The flavors come out in each one of the dishes. The owner and staff are very nice. The owner prides himself on using the best ingredients and when a dish says vegetarian, it actually is. Many other place uses fish oil in their veggie dishes, but not Sirayvah. We are very happy customers.

Positives: I have to say, the service was better than I expected, though it didn’t make up for the salty dish I had for lunch. Order the garlic chicken… I didn’t taste any garlic, or maybe it was a load of «garlic salt». My dining guest had her usual basil chicken; I will assume she liked her meal, since she ate the majority of it. I only ate roughly 2 bites of my lunch; I kindly asked that they box it– to appear pleasant!(Ordered the mango and sticky rice — this was worth 3***). Though before I could finish my meal, a creepy crawler skittled across the right of the wall and I lost it. I know they exist, though when you see them clear in plain sight while eating… Game over!

I used to drive down El Camino all the time, and I’d always make a mental note to myself to try this place out. It took a while but I finally did and now I’m writing my review after several dine-ins as well as take outs. The first thing I tried was the pad thai, duh! My pad thai better have enough(fresh) bean sprouts, and my dish didn’t disappoint. The sauce was perfect and there wasn’t too many chunky peanut pieces. The I’ve had a bunch of the appetizers and those are winners too! My favorite is the dish with raw fish in endive cups. Don’t ask me to remember the name please! Also, the pumpkin soup is amazing! This is truly fresh, organic, authentic thai food. It’s pricier than the stinky, cheaper places but it’s worth every penny. You are what you eat and you don’t want to be stinky and cheap, do you? Oh, and the pronunciation of the place is «See-ray-vah», in case you’re wondering.

So I want to start by saying that this place deserves 5* for the service, but the food itself wasn’t that great. I had the tuna tower, and I feel that the seared tuna would be better served cold(and not seared actually). It also wasn’t very tasteful, a little bland :( The Coconut milk soup was a little too liquid, and had broccoli, very thinly sliced mushrooms, and cabbage in it. Why, oh why, did it have those things there? They don’t go into that soup. Baby corn, snap peas, and big chunks of mushrooms do. Imagine how awkward it would have been to go to an American restaurant and get something like soy sauce with your hamburger. Just no. The panang curry wasn’t very flavorful. It was also extremely liquid, like beverage-liquid. The portion was also gigantic! So my biggest concerns are about the food lacking flavor and being too liquid. But the service was fantastic
