Phil’s gourmet dogs is in the same spot where the farmers market usually is. not sure if he’s present when the f.m. is
eats: hot dog (4)
–tasty dog in warm steamed bun
couldn’t place dog species. not caspar’s.(similar, no crunch)
maybe schwarz or some specialty sausage meat
definitely not millers all meat or the chains’ cheap meats.
–condiments sauces in clean «coolers»
red onions, cheeses, saucerkraut, chili sauce, mustard, peppers, the work
–price very reasonable. (contra costa vendors charge 6)

–parking available, not need to park on street
–friendly quick service…
–5 stars for reasonable pricing, fab, clean facilities…
–just a hot dog stand with another table with condiments.

I was busy one day driving my mobile business truck, my son was really hungry and wanted a hot dog. Our family is big on eating healthy, but I decided to relent and had my son promise not to tell my wife.
When I saw the choices and how incredible the quality is I was in awe. My son and I ate well and at a bargain price. I was so impressed I bought a few more have one to my wife, when I told her where I got them from she didn’t believe me.
A couple days later I drive by with my wife and introduced her to the magic hot dog man, Phil.
She was impressed and phil just constantly has a big smile on his face. This is going to be my new favorite stop at least twice a week.

Yesterday I was driving north on EL Camino Real in San Carlos with my three kids and saw a new Hot Dog vender at the side of the road open for business. The vender was next to, and just north of Duncan Motors which is located at 1655 ECR. My immediate response was «oh great» we love hotdogs and it was so easy to just pull off and stop. My immediate response to the venders setup was «it was so clean» and organized. The vender who identified himself as Phil was polite, social, professional and changed his protective gloves twice during the food transaction. The setup he has is amazing. I’m originally from New York and the only other hotdog venders I see equipped like this are in New York. Between the variety of «Covered Chilled» condiments, which was outstanding, to the 8 different hot sauces, to the numerous beverages, variety of chips, to the quality product of hotdog, polish and hotlinks… to tell you the truth I was blown away. I’m a trained culinary chef for the past 21 years and currently the head chef at a Burlingame restaurant… I know my meats and products. I spoke to Phil and he mentioned to me that he only purchases the best product possible. Phil also mentioned that hes been in the hotdog industry for over a decade. My kids loved them. They had hotdogs, I had a hot link. The size of the hotdog and links along with the buns are larger than anywhere I’ve seen in quite some time. The prices are exceptional. Cheaper than anywhere else. You can tell Phil enjoys his work especially talking with the customers. I ordered a hotdog for my wife to go. Phil gave it to me and said it was on the house… he refused to take my money. If you want an exceptional meal and we all love our «Dogs» visit Phil. Phil I just want to thank you for what your doing… a definite addition to our community… and again thanks for the free dog… We will see you again soon… Thanks again Mike

Wow! These hotdogs are great! I’ve stopped by a few times and I’ve always been satisfied. Great service and short wait times. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned, great tasting hotdog, which you can find at Phil’s in San Carlos!

The hotdogs at Phil’s Gourmet dogs are awesome. These are «the best» hotdogs in the bay area! I love the assorted condiments that Phil provides, and it’s great knowing that everything is cut fresh daily & the stand is extremely clean. Phil always provides excellent service to all his patrons.
