Awful customer service! I decided to give this place a try since it is walking distance from my work place. I placed an order to pick up. There was a lady at the counter, I assume the owner, who helped me. As she is boxing up the desert I requested, I see on the counter hot sauce. I grabbed a one to take with my lunch. As I turn back to the lady, she has her hand out to grab the sauce, and with an evil smile she says«let me finish my job» and takes the sauce. If you do not want people to grab the hot sauce, then do not have in on the counter in plain view! The food is ok, but will never return!

Great food with Soup Nazi customer service. Advice: If you’re easily offended, go elsewhere. Don’t expect to any hand-holding from staff through your ordering process. Know what you want. Be clear and concise. Get in and get out. *I’ve had my fair share of «encounters» here with the staff, but I keep coming back and the food stays quality. Personal favorites: lamb and beef wrap, falafel sides, and kofta plate.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! The man at the counter, whom I assume is the owner, is extremely rude and condescending. I was trying to order some takeout food and wanted some options and opinions and he just looked disgusted and impatient. I ended up ordering kebabs. They were decent enough but the attitude of the staff there is enough to make me not want to return! Such a shame. I highly recommend Kabul in San Carlos, there you get better portion size, tasty quality food and friendly people. Don’t waste your money here.

This is my first ever Unilocal review but my experience there yesterday was so awful, I felt compelled to share. The food was so-so but the lady at the register(one of the owners) was so incredibly rude, I will never go back under any circumstances. I dropped in for lunch yesterday while waiting for my haircut at the barbershop across the way. As a San Carlos native, my family and I frequented this place under its original ownership in the 90’s. Back then, the food was pretty good and the owner was a kind, humble man. Needless to say, neither is no longer the case. The menu is new so I asked the owner a question about the difference between two tuna dishes, to which she rudely replied, «As it says on the menu…» and«If you read the menu…» Why the need to throw a condescending jab? Why not just answer your customers’ question and be helpful? Whatever…I shrugged it off and made my order. My meal came with the option of a salad or fries. As I was paying, I attempted to tell her I wanted the salad, to which she continually cut me off and repeated, «Take you number and have a seat.» Every time I opened mouth to say I wanted the salad, she cut me off and said, «Take your number and have a seat.» I stopped talking and decided to just let her finish. She repeated this sentence literally 5 times in a row as I stood there. When she was done, I said, «I’ll have the salad» and then took a seat. The food was ok but the«Greek» salad had no pepperoncini’s and just one olive. More like ice berg lettuce, 2 slices of tomato and sprinkled feta. It also came bone dry with no dressing. But in comparison to the owner’s behavior, the food was a moot point. It’s one thing, when a regular employee is rude, however, when ownership displays that type of behavior it is extremely disappointing. Regardless, it was completely her right to act however she pleased, but guess what? It’s also my right to call her out on it, share my experience with everyone else and never take my business there again :)

This review is loooooong overview. I’ve been going to Mediterranean Delite since the beginning of time and have never been disappointed. The menu is somewhat limited but what they serve they serve really well. On of my my favorites is the chicken family meal… a whole roast chicken that comes with pita and two sides. I always opt for the babaganoush and hummus and add on extra sides of rice, tabouleh, and Greek salad. All of these dishes are made consistently well. Load them up on pita with hot and tahini sauces and your on the road to paradise. I also love the fish filet dinner, veggie combo platter with amazing falafel, and vegetarian moussaka(very different from Greek moussaka and more of a medley of roasted vegetables in a delicious tomato sauce). I’ve never had their lamburger but know people who swear by it. A FEWTIPS… Seating is limited. So, it pays to come early or a bit late… but they close down by 8pm and often run out of roast chicken well before then. If you want the roast chicken dinner to go, just call well ahead of time to reserve your order.

I called in to order my food for pickup, the person asked for my name, and I gave it to him, and he said he doesn’t know that name? So I said my name again and he says«I don’t know that name, we are palestinian» so I go there because of the confusion and order my food. The person that took my order who might have been the owner of the restaurant, asks about my ethnicity, so I told him, and he starts to continue to have a rude attitude. I later ask for sour cream, and he says«this is Tahiti sauce, we are not Greek we are palestinian!» Again very rude and unappreciated for my business. I took the food back with me to work and threw it away. Never going back. I do not recommend anyone going back to this resteraunt.

If you’re one of the very few people who claim the owner is rude I’m pretty sure it’s all your fault. This is a family business and if you have bad manners your not going to be treated like family. Go eat a Chevys were you can be rude and anonymous. These people are good people.

A restaurant that treats is customers like pests has no business. I went here today for a late lunch. It was a little after 1:30pm and a friend told me about this place. I like mediterranean food so I thought I’d give it a go. I had a lot to do and brought my computer with me so that I could eat while working. My friend gave many compliments saying how clean it was etc. Upon arriving the little strip mall(if you could call it a mall) was extremely small. Minimal parking. It’s definitely a run-down part of town. This little restaurant has done it’s best to «spruce up» the neighborhood.(I give compliments where they are due.) Fortunately since I arrive close to 2pm, there are several parking spots open and I’m able to easily park. I grab my computer bag and head on in. I was not greeted. It’s a type of restaurant that you order at the counter and they give you a number — I guess they bring the food to your table, like Carl’s Jr, but I’m not certain as I never got that experience. Here is what happened. After I place my order, I notice a sign that says«no computer or meetings» and I said, wait, I can’t use my computer here? She said no, we don’t allow it. I said, well I have a lot of work to do. She said that is their policy and should she ring me up? Clearly didn’t care if I stayed or left. I asked for her to ring up the order and I’d just take it to go because at that point, I hadn’t eaten anything yet for the day. I then told her that had I known this was their policy, I would have never of stopped in and because it’s their policy, I would never eat there again. The restaurant is small. It has tables outside to try and help with the seating issues. I get it’s a small place and they want to turn the tables quickly during the lunch hour. But I’m not there during the lunch hour. I’m there during the downtime between lunch and dinner. They don’t care though. It’s their policy and all the employees seem pretty happy about this policy too. Trying to get things done, I’m looking on my phone, responding to e-mails, making phone calls, etc. Along comes someone with my drink. I thanked her for it, but she didn’t seem appreciative — rather wanted me to get off the phone in the restaurant. I ordered the lemonade. It was fairly tasty. However for $ 2.95 and the relatively small size, it wasn’t worth it. You get to pick 2 sides when you order kabobs. I ordered one chicken kabab, one steak kabab, and them selected hummus and tabouleh salad as my sides. I also ordered three(3) falafels. My food is ready. I’m still on the phone and talking to my friend about her 50th birthday party coming up this weekend and I’m trying to decide whether or not I can go. Starving, I open my(PLASTIC) bag and my food. I start eating because I’m starving and need to finish this phone call before I can leave as I have another call to make immediately after it(to my significant other who needs to know whether or not we are going to the party on Saturday) so in between calls, I ask for a fork. I was told to get it myself. No big deal, I grab a fork. Hey, this place is just a step-up from a fast food joint anyway, I have low expectations. I am pleased my to-go containers are environmentally friendly. So I finish my second call and here is the woman who was behind the counter wanting to ask me whether I changed my mind and if I’m now going to be dining in. I’m like well, yeah, I guess. And she decides to put it upon herself to inform me that they have a policy of no containers at the tables, just plates. That, they bring the food out on dishes. So before I go all«law school» on her, I try to be polite and tell her that I understand the quality of restaurant they are trying to have … but that was the end of the conversation. She realizes I’m never coming back, she just wanted to annoy me some more. While I’m eating, I’m being starred down by their employees who are, I think, expecting me to cause a scene. A middle-aged gentleman turns up the music really loud. Clearly I am not welcome and they want me to leave. Here is the deal. This restaurant wants to have a classy, sit-down establishment but could not afford such a venue. So they found a run-down mall where they could negotiate cheap rent. They want clientele that eats quickly and will pay high prices(I paid over $ 20) but expects their patrons to treat their establishment like a 5-star dining experience. They are family run and their stubbornness is going to be their downfall — because the taste of the food wasn’t worth going back for!!! I’ve had far better quality and far bigger portions! The ambience does not match their expectations. No matter how nice the inside looks, location is key.

I had to pick a star to start my review– but they get no star from me. OMG! Today I had the worst experience ever at this restaurant. The owner Naz was an asshole and his wife Rhonda was a f$&^^ bitch, in lack of better words. Here is what happened… I called to order my food as I was driving there so I can beat time since I only have 1 hour for lunch. I placed 2 orders for me and my friend and told the cashier they are separate orders with separate tabs– and I made it clear. I got there, the owner was at the register. I told him that I called in my order and if it was ready. He asked me my name. The owner said, oh I only have one order under your name. I said, NO. I called in 2 orders but separate tabs. He said he only has one order and I was making things complicated. I said I called in 10 minutes ago and he should ask the girl that answered the phone. I then told him I ordered over phone to get my food ready but wanted to sit and eat there. Then I couldn’t believe what happened next… The owner got very aggressive and started yelling at me from behind the counter in front of everyone. I told him I will tell all my friends at work and will go online and put a bad review on his restaurant. He got more aggressive and kept yelling– at one point I was afraid of him. He said he didn’t care who I was and who I work for. And I shouldn’t order over the phone if I was eating there. I should only order ove the phone if I was taking out. I said I had no idea that what his policy and was in disbelief that he would react that way… NO it didn’t stop him… he kept yelling kept yelling in my face and at one point he said to get out. At this time I was confused and was got off guard that a normal human being will treat someone like that, let alone a business owner? WOW, I just couldn’t believe what just happened. So I decided to eat there because I already paid for my food. Then it got worst, the owner’s wife approached me at my table, and told me to hurry up and eat my food and leave. She then told me I was not welcome there and she will put a sign outside that I was not welcome there. I was shocked and confused of what had just happened. I was so furious at this time and demanded a refund. The wife told me NO I can’t get a refund because they already made the food– I was just in awe– like I was in another country? My friend finally arrived and we sat there and ate and try to absorb everything and what had happened and at the same time we were both in shock and confused about the whole thing. In the meantime the owner’s wife. the f&** bitch is sitting across from us staring at us the whole time. Next thing the waitor came by to clean our table and told us to leave. After we left I was just in shock and couldn’t believe what just happened. After reading all the other reviews on Unilocal, I don’t know why they are still in business. Clearly this is the wrong business for them, they have no idea what customer service is or just treating another human being. I will definitely will not go back there and will tell all my friends. THis was probably one of the most horrible experience. We ordered over $ 200 worth of food and then got TOLD that it should have been called in the morning. Then she ask the chef and they said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I mean then why are you yelling at me cause i am sending you business and my employees are hungry. Then 10 minutes later the lady called us and said its over 10 minutes and we are not there to pick up. The food was mediocre and not the best. The experience alone was horrible. If they want to continue to do business in the bay area. Here is some advice. BE nice to people.

Med. Delite listed shawerma on it’s masthead but didn’t see it on the menu on the wall. Med has several tables outside and less than 10 tables inside. small space. menu: mostly plates, combos(12.95+) eats: falafel sammie(6.95) -«vegetable balls w/tomato & cucumber salad wrapped in lavosh» –came with tahini and spicy sauce. –didn’t leak like usual med sammies. sauce separated –tasty, fresh sammie, a little dry cuz sauce not needed. ok. no leakage 3.5 stars take outs: –quick service, ready in minutes –menu pricey? maybe this is average for south bay…

I popped in for lunch to go. My overall impression was good. The staff were friendly. My food was ready in under seven minutes. The falafel were wonderful: crispy, chewy, not soggy, not dry. I mixed the spicy sauce with the tahini sauce for a delightful mixture. Tip: when you have falafel to go, make sure to let them breathe so they stay crisp. Don’t close the container or they will become mushy and soggy. The lamb shawarma was a bit of a disappointment. The wrap dominated the filling. The lamb within was decent, but they can give more lamb and more sauce to make it a more consistent sandwich. That’s about all I tried so I will definitely return to try more of the menu.

Love the food here specially the Lamb Beef Shwarma and the Roasted Half Chicken. But the service has always been questionable. My last three visits, the service has gone off the reservation. The owner is still rude as heck but now his wife is there and she is a head case. They insist on having the upper hand, the last word in every conversation. Extremely disrespectful and they’re clearly in the wrong business. Now they’re getting my order wrong and they go double rude as a defense mechanism.

Went with a friend, got not-so-good service experience. Place didn’t appear to have high standards in cleanliness, and all the employees were borderline pestering us during our meal. It seemed like there were 15 people serving three tables. Food was ok. Good tabuli. Yummy babaganoosh. But when I asked for a to-go order(in addition to the meal), they got weird. I suspect they reheat their food and didn’t want me to re-re-heat it again at home? I don’t know, but shit got weird, and the guy was rude. No place for anyone with dignity. Young lady waiting tables seems nice and normal in comparison tho… —- Private parking lot. Outdoors seating available.

I was born and raised about 5 min away from this establishment but never knew it was there till about 2 weeks ago. Let me tell you the food is ok, I ordered the chicken kebab plate with a side of hummus. The thing that turned me off about this place was the owner. I am in total shock of how someone can treat their customers that way. And what’s more shocking is that this place is still open. I went in and sat down with a water bottle because I had run there. The manager looked at me and said we don’t allow drinks from outside I’ll let it slide this one time. I guess next time I will dehydrate.

Refeed meal! Was crazy craving meat after a night of drinking and a week of heavy lifting. Kabobs came to mind so checked out Med Delite. I liked that it was not on Laurel as we were trying to avoid the annoying Laurel crowds & parking. Food was pretty good. A little too much olive oil on the hummus & baba but still really yummy. Kafta was tasty but I’ll go for chicken or beef next time. Woke up this morning feeling back to life and ready to get my swoll on. Feed the booty!!!

My workplace essentially had a weekly standing order for Med Delite back when our offices were located right by the restaurant. We’ve since moved to a new city, yet we still order from here, illustrating Med Delite’s lasting impact on our workforce. In fact, I believe that we order Med Delite exclusively when it comes to Middle Eastern food. Our order is pretty consistent. It’s a spread with the following: — Chicken Kebobs(with veggies on skewers) — Lamb Kebobs(with veggies on skewers) — Kofta Kebobs(my personal favorite) — Falafel For sides, we also have: — Hummus(the hummus is excellent) — Tabouleh — Babaganouj(Isn’t «babaganouj» a really fun word to say repeatedly out loud?) Med Delite also appears to have their own proprietary hot sauce, which I enjoy and also respect. It’s one thing to prepare mains and sides for one’s guests, but to also prepare proprietary sauces illustrates a whole other level of culinary passion.
