Great experience, with great food and great people. Saw this place on Unilocal a few months ago, tried to stop by once but it was a Monday(they are closed on Mondays), finally I got to try this place, and it was amazing. I ordered the 4-meat/3-side meat plate with pulled pork, tri-tip, brisket, and ribs. Side choices were mac n’ cheese, cole slaw, and potato salad. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was really, really good. I seriously liked everything I ordered, but if I had to pick a favorite, it’d be the brisket which was a special item of the day. They do also give you very awesome portions, my plate was about $ 28 after tax, and 2 adults can easily share that to get full. People here were also very nice. I just wish they had a soda machine as well as more parking/seating – all those factors though, wouldn’t stop me from coming back here very soon. Again, 5-star, well deserved.

They have redeemed themselves! Called in yesterday to order some yum grub for my coworkers birthday hoopla. Little did I know he didn’t like this place. He had ordered some food from them a while back, told the worker he was going down the road to view a new warehouse/office space. It’s about 2 pm. when he returned 15 minutes later, he saw his food sitting on the counter, doors locked… they had closed and left his food there, yes he already paid. Now he’s a fan! For ten people I ordered meat(by the pound): Brisket(2), Pulled Pork(2), Tri-Tip(1), Ribs(1) and Chicken(1); Sides:(16 ounces) Mac-n-cheese(1.5), Green Beans(1.5), BBQ Beans(1) and Potato Salad; Bread: 5 Corn Breads and 5 Garlic Breads. A bit too much food, but looking forward to these left overs! Everything was a huge hit. In particular, the Brisket, Pulled Pork, Potato Salad and Corn Bread is a must! Upon arrival the, the encounter was quick and pleasant. Before the tip, the total was just under $ 200. They wheeled out my goodies and loaded them into my car. Will be returning for future gatherings.

This was damn good barbecue. The guys are friendly. I got a combination of tri-tip and pork ribs. Both were very juicy. They gave me both kinds of sauces(mild and hot), but I have to tell you, the meat with just the mop sauce on it was so good, I didn’t want to use either of the sauce. The location isn’t going to win any beauty contests, but for seriously good barbecue from a couple of guys that are really outgoing and personable, this is the place.

When the sun is shining on a warm day, this place cannot be beat for lunch. Its a very un– San Carlos setting on the industrial side of the tracks, The meat is sooooo delicious! Wish I could eat here every day but a girl can only do so many hours of cardio a week. My mother would scoff at the sparse layout but I think its interesting. I pretend I’m in a little town in a flyover state and just soak it all in. All the focus here is on the food and I’m OK with that. Love you guys.

Having eaten here before and actually really enjoying the food I was looking forward to some good bbq. The food might be good but if you don’t want a store front then don’t open one. They were supposed to open at 5 but when I got there no one opened the door. I knocked and was ignored. Some guy came out the side door and when I asked if they were open he asked someone inside who apparently told the guy, who then told me that they were closed since 3. We actually came because their site said they had their famous prime rib(or something) on Thursdays after 5. Very disappointing to come across the bay to end up just annoyed. Go to 3 pigs BBQ. Bit pricey but at least they seemed to appreciate their customers.

Not a place for ambience, but the food is really good. Best barbecue in san carlos. Recommend putting in a phone order early in day to insure they have what you want for dinner pick up. In order my favorites: brisket pork butt, chicken, ribs. Sides: the potatoe salad is rich creamy and a bit of tang. Mac and cheese is my downfall, they do not disappoint.

Ribs and sides were fantastic. I didn’t like the tri-tip as much but it was very high quality. Best BBQ I’ve had in a while.

Went at lunch time several months ago. The staff was super friendly and service prompt. The food itself I thought was just okay. Nothing to Unilocal Unilocal about.

This place is allright sometimes, but they really could put in a little more effort on their end. First, the detail complaints: if you eat here, you can look forward to paper plates, plastic forks, 50 cent chairs & tables, room temperature tap water served in a dinky cup, and what felt like no air conditioning on a 90-degree day. It ain’t half as nice as your average McDonald’s. Then there’s the biggie: when the food’s good, it’s good(that goes for the tri-tip, corn, and various breads alike), but half the times I’ve gone here, the meat was already tough/dry/cold/old upon first bite. I assume this is because they operate fast food style, cooking buttloads of portions at a time and serving it little by little as the day goes by. That’s fine and dandy if you get here right when they open, but sometimes you just don’t feel like eating lunch at 11AM, ya know? This stuff would fly at something like $ 8, but at $ 12 – 13 it’s a case of Hyundai service for Lexus prices.

The Warriors special was fabulous– we tried it all; tri tip, ribs, pulled pork, chicken. Soooo good. Beans great and kids loved the garlic bread. I’m voting pulled pork and chicken as incredible, husband loved the tri tip. 3 kinds of BBQ sauce and you dip after they deliver so you determine amount and favors. Brian was awesome– took our order, friendly and gave us a ton of options. This place is great! Emergency BBQ got it right! We’ll be back

I am holding back a star because I have not been to the restaurant yet. Yesterday I ate their tri-tip, pulled pork, and brisket at a Birthday party. Andrew bought 5 pounds or more of each one for his Son’s party. Damn it is so good!!! Now I am dying to eat at the restaurant and try other things. The meat I ate and I ate a lot of it was 5 star for sure, but wouldn’t be fair without eating other things too. Andrew made baked beans with his super secret recipe and they get a double 5 star rating from us. Dude open a restaurant!

Fuck that was good. Most of the food was good, but the chili was super salty and the corn just wasn’t me. Everything else though like the tri-tip, brisket, ribs and chicken were super good. I recommend this place if you’re in the area and are craving BBQ

Relatively affordable BBQ. My dining partner and I tried the tri-tip, ribs, sausage link, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, garlic bread, and Texas chili all for about $ 35. We wanted to try the mac n cheese, but they ran out. Here’s the breakdown: Ribs were smokey, meaty with a nice amount of fat around the bones. They were REALLY good with the spicy BBQ sauce. The tri-tips were super chewy and got my jaw tired. I overheard someone from behind the counter telling a customer that it’s reheated in the microwave. The taste was okay. The sausage link was my least favorite of the three meats. The smokiness was nice but the flavor was off. Can’t describe it. The coleslaw is basic, baked beans were overdone, and the Texas chili was extremely salty. Potato salad was delicious! Potatoes were cooked perfectly and was creamy with the right amount of mustard. Garlic bread was tasty and nicely toasted I would recommend the ribs with the spicy BBQ sauce(if you have a sweeter taste bud, the regular BBQ sauce is on the sweeter side), potato salad, garlic bread, and coleslaw. I might have higher standards for BBQ since I was born and raised in Texas and just recently moved to the Bay Area this last year. This place might not cut it from where I’m from, but not a bad place for some ribs smothered in spicy BBQ sauce and potato salad. Good customer service. They were nice enough to let us try one sausage link instead of ordering half a pound of it. Also, they threw in extra garlic bread for us. :)

This place is legit BBQ! No boiling of the meat and no addition of liquid smoke. Just a basics of a dry rub followed by many hours of smokin it low and slow. I ordered the 2 meat/2 side combo consisting of brisket, spareribs, potato salad, baked beans, and garlic bread. Everything was a or should be. The brisket had a nice bark and smoke ring. It could have it fattier but that wasn’t a deal breaker. The spareribs tastes good and had a nice chew. The potato salad was good but a prefer bigger chunks of potatoes. The baked beans were tender, having a nice and thick sauce. The sauce had a nice hint of molasses. Man oh man was this good! The garlic bread was good but I wished they hadn’t run out of cornbread. This is now my go to place for Q. The only downside is that the brisket is available only on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

I love this place! The staff is friendly, the prices are great and the barbecue is amazing. My buddy and I had the Fat Hog today as usual and it was perfect. Plus the pork ribs were just coming off the grill so we took a rack of them home for the family. The ribs had a nice crust, very little fat and were falling off the bone. They recently expanded their hours so there’s no excuse to miss out on this little gem.

Wow. What a disappointment. I had heard such great things about the food. We ordered three meats and sides. The ribs were charred way beyond what I would call acceptable. Dry and hard as a rock. I took a picture so you can see for yourself. The tri– tip was so-so. Dry. The best was the brisket. Moist. Mac and cheese was basic. A step above Kraft. The corn bread is just a muffin. A step above Jiffy. Beans was the best side. Dark with nice flavor. Maybe it was just a bad day for Emergency. Not planning to return.

I am from Kansas City, so I am really picky about my BBQ. The Bay Area has precious few spots that can even honestly claim to serve BBQ, and most disappoint someone picky like me(many places in the Bay Area bake their ribs, use liquid smoke, or just generally rush the process by cooking at too-high temps). So when I heard about this place tucked off the beaten path, I was afraid to get my hopes up. Fortunately, this place is LEGIT. As with any truly good BBQ spot, it is super-casual(some of the best bbq in America can be found at a GASSTATION back in KC. If anything, a fancy bbq place is more suspicious to me). Think picnic tables and sports on TV, and smokers parked right out front. The people are cool. The tri-tip and pulled pork are just insane. And I’m not a big beer drinker, but they have quite the selection of bottles, plus Anchor Steam and a few others on tap. Compared to the other bbq places I have tried(3 Pigs, lookin at you), this place is very reasonably priced I get the plates so I can enjoy leftovers, but the sandwich menu looks really cool(someday I’ll clear my schedule and get a Fat Hog, so tempting…) They now have brisket on Wednesday and Saturday. Brisket is the backbone of Kansas City barbecue, and is not for people who insist on lean cuts of meat(and is thus hard to find well-executed out in California). Hallelujah!!!

A brief stint at the emergency room led the boy and I to be starving(and myself, a little punny from sleep deprivation), so we decided the only appropriate stop would be Emergency BBQ for a take-home lunch! It had been a few years since we were back, but were pleased to find it still awesome. We picked up ‘The Warriors Fan!’, a massive thing of 5 meats, 4 sides, and tons of breads & sauces. We were not disappointed. FIREGRILLEDTRI-TIP. Definitely one of our favorites, fantastic flavor, and worth getting. Our favorite tri-tip is a long drive from home, so this is a perfect substitute. CITUSGARLICCHICKEN. A little disappointing, and nothing special, unfortunately. To be fair, I find that’s the case at many BBQ places, so this isn’t an anomaly, just an observation. SLOWSMOKEDPULLEDPORK. I remember it as being good, not great. I’ll have to go back and buy more to give a better statement on this! LOUISIANAHOTLINK. The boy was a fan, but to me, they didn’t really stand out from any past hot links I’ve had. SLOWSMOKEDPORKSPARERIBS. These were delicious, just fantastic stuff. I would gladly get multiple servings of these! SIDES. Nothing blew me away. The mac and cheese was ok, the baked beans a little too sweet, but the garlic bread was heavenly. It could be because we’ve been eating low/no-carb, but I was a big fan! I’m liking that this place is so close to home. They aren’t open Sundays, unfortunately, but are available for dinner Wednesday — Saturday, which is great! Now I just have to find a way to get there during the day on Wednesday to grab some brisket!

Unassuming tiny restaurant off of Industrial Road with only 3 tables inside. This place has amazing food, but the restaurant itself needs some serious cleaning… It was empty when we arrived so we ordered at the register right away. We each ordered the 2 meats + 2 sides combo for $ 15. As soon as we sat down, I noticed that there were flies… pretty much everywhere. It was pretty disgusting and wondered what health score this place had. Tried my best to enjoy the food we ordered, which wasn’t that hard because it was so delicious. The meat was so tender and smoky and their sweet and tangy sauce is perfect. I highly recommend the potato salad as a side, but the mac n cheese was just okay. The free corn muffin was also really tasty. I don’t think I would come back though unless they clean the place up. I don’t really want to regularly eat at a place that doesn’t look like it can pass a health inspection.
