This is a mixed review. First of all, Electro Ride is not a bike shop. It is a rented warehouse space. While not a negative in itself, it does mean there is not a way to drop in without arranging to meet in advance. Brian is extremely knowledgeable about his products, and helpful in sharing that knowledge. That is the good part. The downside is that as a side business, Electro Ride can be difficult to get hold of. The frame on my Montague folding bike broke(seat post snapped off) after only three years, and I have been unable to get any response from Electro Ride. All I need is for them to confirm my purchase date so the manufacturer will replace the part, but Email and Phone calls have been repeatedly ignored. I suspect he doesn’t keep any organized records. As noted, the shop is a mess, and often he cant find what he is looking for, wasting your time. This is not a fulltime business, and it is not really professionally run. I had been thinking about getting an Electric upgrade for my wife’s bicycle, but I don’t think I want to risk buying from Electro Ride until I can figure out how to get support. For Brian’s knowledge and willingness to share it, I give 5 stars. For the shop, I give 2 stars. Inventory is low requiring things be ordered, and it is disorganized and unprofessional. You cannot just drop in. For service, onsite at purchase, 4 stars. For service post sales, no stars. Because service is a key component in an end-to-end customer relationship, I am forced to give Electro Ride 1 star. You could do almost as well simply by mail order, and doing a little research on the web.

I asked if he could do repairs on ebikes not sold through his shop, and brought mine over after he said he could. He spent about an hour and a quarter alternating between repeating the same hard sell over and over again(he really wanted me to buy a whole new kit), and tearing his mess of a shop apart trying to find the parts of my bike that he lost. He didn’t listen to my comments on where I thought the problem was, and ended up wasting both of our time. When I pointed out that he was repeating himself in his never ending sales pitch, he threatened to kick me out of his shop for being a «smartass». I was uncomfortable the whole time, and would gladly accept an inferior product from a different shop if it meant never having to deal with this guy again. On the plus side, he didn’t charge me for his time. I don’t feel very bad about that though, as he didn’t accomplish anything but cutting up my cables to test the parts that I’d already told him were working.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about electric bikes. Spent tons of time on the phone and over e-mail helping me select and install the right electric conversion kit and accessories.
