Great lessons and friendly instructor! We took a Kayaking Rescue Techniques lesson and went out on the protected slough areas near Redwood City — Seaport Blvd. We got to know this great location to launch close to our home.
Another great thing is I’d forgotten my gloves in the kayak and they diligently held on to them, informing me via call and email till I got a chance to pick them up!

As a whitewater kayaker I’ve gone to CCK’s other locations multiple times. It was always a pain though because I either had to go to oakland or stop by when I was at the American River. I was very excited to see they opened a location in the Peninsula! I recently ordered two Jackson whitewater kayaks through this location and was pleased with their service. If you want to get into kayaking and/​or need to buy quality kayaking gear this is probably the best place in the area. Most other places that sell kayaks nearby (sporting good stores, etc) have much more limited selection/​lower quality gear.

California canoe and kayak is a great shop. Helpful and friendly customer service. Both mike and Martin helped me with gear for my kayak (life jacket, paddle, ect…) and they did a great job installing a Rudder on my kayak. They also gave me great tips on kayaking techniques and I plan on signing up for a kayak clinic. I recommend checking this place out.

We had a great experience at CCK — I was looking to get my two teenagers certified for scuba diving, and Mike was great with them. After we scheduled the pool training (they had done the PADI classroom training online), we went to the store, and he walked them through all of the equipment that they needed to get (snorkel, mask, fins), as well as how to use all of the equipment they would rent (BCD, regulator, weights, etc.). They just finished up with him two days of the pool portion of the training. The kids loved it, and they thought he was amazing. He was super knowledgable and a very engaging instructor. They are so excited now for scuba diving! Mike and CCK made it an absolutely memorable experience for them for the start of what we hope will be many years doing scuba!
