I work nearby in the Bayhill business park and this is the only taco truck within walking distance. The quality is subpar compared to the other two taco trucks nearby also on El Camino. After having eaten at Ruddy’s tacos a dozen times, I’m disappointed to report that the burritos nor tacos have never satisfied my cravings. I only eat here when I’m craving Mexican food for lunch and there’s no time to drive a bit further away. Even the facilities staff in my office building(who happen to be Mexican) agree that they’ll never eat at Ruddy’s. I’ve seen them eat at the other two nearby trucks and never at Ruddy’s. Sorry, Ruddy’s. You’re going to have to up your game and offer more ingredients than just meat and rice in your regular burritos.

Ruddy came to cater a birthday party we held for about 40 people in San Ramon. Guests raved about the food and these were taco truck experts! Three kinds of meat, choice of burritos, tacos and quesadillas, rice, beans and all the fixings… plates and napkins, too! Ruddy was punctual, polite, and professional. Totally recommend his services and may just book him again for graduation this year! Would be great for corporate events, also! Thanks for making the night great for all, Ruddy!

Since moving back from Hayward, I’ve missed my reg taco place — Whipple Taqueria :( Needed to find another cheap place to get tacos in the area, and I’ve found Ruddy’s Taco Truck! The tacos are $ 1.25. On Sundays, it’s $ 1!(Why not Taco Tuesdays though?) They’re normally located in front of Chili’s or across the street(at night) and since it’s a taco truck, there is no seating. They have burritos, tacos, and quesadilla. For tacos, their toppings can be beef, shredded beef, tongue, shrimp, fish, or pork. I love their Al pastor tacos, and my bf loves their Carnitas tacos. I normally go for 4 – 5 tacos, and my bf goes for 3 – 4. The tacos are well seasoned and delicious! Still prefer Whipple’s though. For those who aren’t into spicy food, the al pastor has spicy salsa on it, so be warned… They also sell churros, but the one time I got it, it was cold. so get it warm while you can! I tried to get it last night but they were sold out but it’s cause I went right before closing :( They sell canned drinks for $ 1.25, energy drinks $ 3, gatorade, sunny-D, and jarritos. My bf and I just walk to the nearby gas stations since they have Arizona’s for $ 1 and gatorades for 2/$ 3. Nice to stop by if you want a light snack or quick bite.

I get lunch here every now and then; a super burrito with extra sour cream. Each time I’ve requested the extra sour cream and have paid for extra sour cream, I do not get any sour cream whatsoever. A bit disappointing.(big sigh)

Visiting SF for a couple days before we camp at Big Basin. Man this place sucks. Meat tastes like it was made days ago. More like bland pasto chicken! That’s NOT pastor! And their charging $ 1.00 for stale chips and salsa. No flavor whatsoever. Let me know when you’re in SoCal, I’ll show you some legit tacos. Can’t beat SoCal tacos

Al pastor tacos! This is the best protein option on the menu in my opinion. You get a whole list of choices ranging from steak, beef cheek, beef tongue to shrimp and fish. I ordered lengua tacos and fish tacos, in addition to the al pastor tacos. The lengua was quite bland, and the fish was as well. But I can’t complain about the al pastor! Super tasty and very well seasoned! It’s great for a quick bite or a late night snack.

So there are people that come to town and Ruddy’s is one of their first stops! The chicken quesadilla and beef tacos are my favorite. The food is simple and so well made! And you can’t beat those prices! Leave a tip y’all cause they deserve it!

Can I give Ruddy’s 1000 stars? This is the stuff of dreams. My mouth is watering just thinking about his tacos! Granted, I have not been to the truck, but had his food cater my function. He brought his grill, and had steak, shredded pork and chicken, along with all the fixings and beans and rice. With first bite, I thought I had died and gone to taco heaven. Now let me preface my review by saying that I am from Hawaii, and although there are good Mexican restaurants, the ones that are actually owned and/or cooked by actual Mexicans are few and far between. BUT, I love love love mexican food, and try to have it where ever possible! So lets go back to Ruddy’s. The meats were seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection — juicy and moist, but not swamped in sauces or fat. You can actually taste the meat in all it’s glory — plain and simple. Ohhhh man, seriously — my mouth is watering… Add some cheese, onions, cilantro, lime and some salsa, and man oh man! I had 4 tacos! Not that they weren’t filling, I just had to keep eating. Guests and social appropriateness be damned! I had to have another, and another…

Perfect for any given work day at the Bayhill offices here. With street style tacos served in a truck at 1.25 a piece for the usual meats of carnitas, asada, pastor, chicken, barbacoa, and cabeza, with the special ones like fish, shrimp, and lengua aka beef tongue(my fave) going for 1.50 a piece. 3 fresh hot off the griddle tender lengua street tacos topped w onions, cilantro, with a splash of lime is the perfect quick fix I need to either get the day started or to stuff my face on a short break at the office. Either way, it never fails to put a smile on my face to know that I spent less than 5 bucks for some real Mexican street grub to fill my grumpy belly. Come on… Less than 5 bucks. Can’t beat that.

Lets just say it’s cheap and you will get full, the guys that run the truck are really low key, they use a yellow pad to take your order and calculate everything via calculator, $ 1.50(regular meats) if not $ 1.75(seafood) this is just for the taco’s. Honestly if you can’t make a taco right what makes you think the rest of the dishes will be made correctly. So here is the low down on what I sampled and what I recommend. choices of meats that I sampled al pastor — marinated pork, usually the pork shoulder carnitas — lightly season pork butt carne asada — lightly seasoned beef barboca — season beef chuck tripa — beef tripe camarones — shrimp lengua — beef tongue I would order all of these items again, winners for me would be the carnitas, carne asada & camarones, the tripa was not really to my liking, other places I get this from have a different prep, here it seems it is more of a flash fry then light season. the lengua was also full flavored texture wise it was good, compared even to actual restaurants good. The wife ordered the carne asada tacos and the al pastor — all smiles no sadness when biting down =) I did notice some of the tacos were oilier then others but you can’t really complain since your getting tacos that are $ 1.50 if not $ 1.75 each ordered 10 tacos, chips and salsa total was $ 14 can’t beat that tacos **** if in the area and on a budget definitely place to get something quick and it will fill you up, depending on how many you order price $ service **** quick ambiance um yeah they are a food truck so you are outside

I visited Ruddy’s Taco Truck a couple of weeks ago excited to find some amazing tacos to eat. I ordered a couple of carne asada tacos and was totally not impressed. They were relatively small and lacked flavor in my book. They were also pretty greasy. Maybe they were having an off day? Unfortunately I’m the type of person that likes to frequent new places regularly with that being said trying a new place is a hit or miss with me.

Against my better judgement I came back, since I was craving a burrito when nothing else was open except Araujo’s, which is expensive and keeps getting even worse, but more expensive. They did lower some of their prices back down about $ 0.50 since my last review, which seemed like a better start, but the food was the worst I’ve ever had from them and any other Mexican place. The tortilla was greasy and somewhat see through, the whole thing tasted like complete salt, and that wasn’t the worst of it. I got a supper burrito, and they forgot to put cheese, the meat was dry and not even re-grilled and it was very cold, it tasted like biting into a burrito where all the filling came right out of the refrigerator. But, for some reason took so long for them to make it, with no customers ahead of me.

Excellent chicken quesadillas! They make them FRESH and it’s very flavorful, like you would make it at home. Wanted to take a picture but before I knew it, the plate was empty. MUSTTRY!!!

I don’t know many taco trucks out there that sell seafood in their burritos and tacos but apparently Ruddy’s does. They’re usually parked near or in front of the San Bruno Chili’s and very easy to spot. Had their Shrimp Burrito and Al Pastor Tacos. The tacos were really good with lot of meat and the Al Pastor was flavorul. I can’t say the same for the Shrimp Burrito though, which was pretty bland and pretty watery. I think I’d skip ordering the burrito and order the shrimp in taco form instead. Shrimp Burrito – Al Pastor Tacos – Overall, I think this is one of the better Taco Tucks that I’ve been to around the Peninsula. If I’m ever in the area and have that craving for tacos, I’m definitely going to stop by Ruddy’s again.

Order the super burrito with chicken for $ 6. Reasonable price since the super burrito is big. Waited about 5 minutes to get my food which is not bad of a wait with few other people ahead of me. The super burrito is not bad. It was a bit salty but it has enough flavor with the tangy spiciness and doable to eat it. If you squeeze a little bit of lemon in each bite, it can enhance the flavor to the burrito too. Its big that can get you full. Will definitely came back to try their tacos since its so cheap. $ 1 — $ 1.50 for each tacos depending on meat you get.
