Performance Tub and Tile Refinishing

Larry refinished our tub a while back, and it looked great.
Now one spot is peeling, and I spoke to Larry about a retouch. He had one date in June but it was my son’s graduation which didn’t work. I’ve left several voicemails and haven’t heard back.
Larry, let’s get this resolved please. Thanks!

Bad customer service, i been calling him for 2 weeks to comeback for a retouch no response, he only wants new business where he can earn big bucks

be weary, i trusted all the reviews prior.
first off, the tiles looks good, BUT way too much dust, which wasn’t appropriately controlled. AND what became very, very, poor customer service — ultimately causing more work and drama.
He blamed the misplaced dust on the opening of a door/​window — how could we know, we aren’t the professionals, when he did not tell anyone not to.
he has 25 years of experience and he «didn’t know this could happen?»
as the homeowner, he NEVER told me what to expect. (ie. dust, smell)
another contractor and my father had to leave due to the extreme smell (he wore a respirator? If was toxic or harmful, wouldn’t you thin he would tell me or anyone in the home?
Again, he never advised anyone to keep door/​window closed, yet blamed it on my father who opened it. He claimed that my father needed to ask permission!?! I am the home owner, if any one was to give permission, it is me.
Larry, blamed it on the poor ventilation and wind in the area of the home, YET he has 25 years and never thought to tell me, the homeowner and my father who let him in. he claimed my father wasnt around to tell him, but stated that they spoke at 10−11am. and he didnt even realize the dust was an issue until we pointed it out!
I had new carpet placed and he did not recommend to cover it up.
when confronted, larry denied any responsibility to inform me, insulted my father’s decision («stupid») to open the window because of the fumes? (Again he wears a respirator? Not telling anyone else is a blatant disregard for their well being!!!)
To his minimal credit, he tried wiping n swifering «flat areas.» BUT that does not encompass the baseboards, the door thresholds, vents, newly laid carpet and entire kitchen areas.
we have new flooring that is being put in. «tell me this, if you’re gonna cover up the floor, why would you have to clean all the dust from under it?» he shook his head, as if he just heard the most idiotic thing ever. If that isn’t an example of sweeping the problems under a «rug,» I don’t know what is!?!
he only cleaned part of the hallway, only because we made an issue.

i am going to hire a cleaning crew to clean up the mess he made.
prior to hiring larry, he was nice to talk to and seemed easy to work with. Never did i see someone change demeanor so quickly. When confronted: he became VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and CONDECENDING.
i would never recommend him again. knowing what i know now, i would have easily chose someone with a hirer bid.
he gave me the bill and said, «you have to do and i’ll do what i have to do.» i was ready to pay him a portion of the bill and the rest after i had a professional cleaning crew clean, BUT HE LEFT BEFORE I COULD PAY HIM ANYTHING?!?
As a BONUS, he said «I didn’t charge you for cleaning up.» What a joke.

As everyone else said this guy is amazing. I waited two weeks for him because of his reviews and he was well worth it. He called the afternoon before set an arrival time. He called the next day and said he would be 40 min late. But I am the worst commute from where he is at. His work is superb… after all he has been doing it himself for I believe he said 25 years. No complaints… except the smell. But that comes with the painting. The tub is shiny and sparkling. It is better then I could have imagined.

My wife and I were getting ready to sell our home and had Larry refinish the tile in our original 1950’s tiled bathrooms. Not only was able to get us on the schedule with short notice, but he worked very hard over a holiday weekend so the work would be done before we listed the home the following week. Our real agent described Larry as a «miracle work» and we agree. We wish we had him out years ago so we could have lived with nice, clean white tile instead of the pink and turquoise tile we put up with.

Larry of Performance Tub and Tile is amazing. Simply put. I had arranged for him to do my tub on a Tuesday. He arrived early as scheduled. But there was a problem. He advised that he could not do the work because the faucet was dripping and it would affect the quality of the finish. I advised that I would repair it immediately if he would do the job tomorrow. He agreed. Was not upset. Just very accommodating.
A bit about Larry. My wife and I were extremely comfortable with him in our house. I had to make the typical errands such as picking kids up from school. Going to Safeway. Etc… All the while Larry was left alone in our the house. When we first met him we knew we could trust him. It’s one of those things. You know?
Anyway, I went to Lowe’s and bought a repair kit. Stopped the leak and the next morning Larry came over at 8am.
The job took all day. And that’s because it was done very well. This is not a job you want an amateur to do. It requires skill. A skill acquired from many years of experience. Larry has the experience. And I could tell just based on his preparation techniques. He even had an exhaust fan to direct fumes and dust out the bathroom window.
The job was done very well. A huge transformation to our bathroom. This was one of the best didn’t money for my house. Highly recommended. Thanks Larry.

Larry refinished our tub. It looks like a brand-​new tub, shiny and white. We are very satisfied with his work.
Larry was very professional, nice to talk to, and he took care of everything quickly. He was very responsive to my phone calls to set up the appointment. He completed the job in one day and left the house as clean as he found it.
I would recommend Larry to anyone who has an old tub and needs a new looking bathroom.

The scene: An ancient iron tub, pitted and scarred from decades of neglect and abuse that have left its surface pockmarked and its finish faded, discolored, and chipped… not to mention the owner’s attempts to pretty it up using a kit from a local hardware store that failed miserably.
Larry arrived promptly at 8:00AM and spent the next 12+ hours patiently stripping and cleaning off all traces of the failed beautification attempts, filling in the scars, chips, etc. with Bondo, and then carefully prepping, painting/​glazing, and caulking the tub. When he was finished, it looked better than it has an at least 20 years… and Larry actually apologized because it did not look totally new to him! To us, the transformation was night and day and the tub looks absolutely gorgeous.
Larry is an artisan and a professional. I cannot recommend him strongly enough!
