My favorite sushi place by far. The dine in service is okay but it’s best to take it to go tbh. There’s a few really great employees I see there regularly and the bad ones don’t seem to last very long anyhow haha

First off id like to start off by saying. Disregard all bad reviews that might be on here. Notice that these are people who openly admitting that this was their first time here? That tells you right there they never even gave the place a chance. One bad experience that wasnt up to your personal par doesn’t condemn a place. Anyways… ive been coming here for years now with my family. And this ties for our #1 go to local all you can eat sushi place. Right along with a place in rancho santa margarita. This place has amazing tasting sushi no matter what you order. And what i like about this place is they care about their presentation. They garnish and put sauces on pieces that require sauces. Ive been to places where they will give you straight fish and rice only and just put it on a plate without garnish or sauce. Ive never had a bad experience here. Even with how packed this little place can get. I mean some times you might need to flag someone down but they will run right over to you. The only thing i did notice was… no matter how many years youve been here. They will still explain the all you can eat rules and menu lol. Im like«ive been here before, i get it!» And they just keep explaining lol. Its like… realistically, all places are the same rules. We get it already… NOSHARING. But they tell me for the 1000th time anyway :) .its ok though. I wish they sold short ribs on the a la carte menu. Cause someone i go with likes that instead of chicken teriyaki.

I tried this place out yesterday after an event I attended at the University. I got a spicy tuna roll. I was a bit disappointed. Given the price I paid, I wouldve thought the roll would’ve been a bit bigger. When I asked for ginger, they gave me a joke of a small container of ginger. Literally enough ginger for one piece of a roll.

Sushi is always fresh and the staff are always nice. My favorite roll here is the shrimp tempura roll, it never dissapoints!

Went in at 8:30 and they said they are closed. When we pointed out that they close at 9 pm according to their sign on the front door. The girl said well last call is at 8:30 and we told her its 8:30 she replied sorry we’re closed. I guess their waitresses couldn’t be bothered. Totally unacceptable. Never coming back here again. Hope their owners know that the help is turning away paying customers.

Accurate reviews from other people. This place is slow slow slow slow… Did I mention slow? The food is good though. So if you have 2 hours available for lunch and don’t mind it being slow, the sushi is worth it. Since I went with the expectation of crappy service, I wasn’t disappointed.

If you enjoy false advertisement and mixed messages with sub par service then this is your place. We drive for 30 mins and got there in time @ 9:20. First they said we are closed, then it was: we close at 9:30, then you can sit at the bar, then again the grill is closed. Oh btw, «no all you can eat» Hey this is false advertisement, no, ok we will serve you, but we will serve half the menu. We sat and ate and the sever and chef gave us attitude all night, banging dishes for us to leave.

I usually come here but I don’t like the owners/managers because they are not friendly at all. Over all the food is good and fast

I wasn’t very open to the sushi market then I found this place and gave it a try. I fell in love with it. after that I tried many places and nothing was like this one. I have being going there since, they are usually new host which makes a bit hectic but the cooks and environment are amazing!

I don’t go to places just so I can review them. However if I find that a location I visited was extremely satisfying or displeasing, then I’ll make it aware, so others can make an informed decision whether they want to visit an establishment or not. I came here last night(2÷20÷16). The wine here is chilled, so the Merlot that I ordered had a displeasing, watery taste. I’m not one to complain but this time I had to note that I didn’t want the wine. About halfway through my meal, I’ve taken notice that my plate wasn’t fully cleaned. I’ve noticed smears of old caked on sauces from the previous user. I wouldn’t put to much faith on their sanitary protocols, if there is any. I won’t drag on about the waitress/waiters. I’m sure there are plenty of reviews here that complain about them already. My waiting service wasn’t terrible, but not good either. This Is the first time in YEARS I haven’t tipped. No matter how the service is somewhere, I try to be optimistic; thoughtful and think about the hard times waiters/waitresses go through. I gave myself time to think about my decision, and I felt it was fair to not tip. Of all the sushi restaurants I’ve visited in Southern California(and even Montréal, Canada), this is the worst I’ve been to. If you really want a good experience with sushi then I’ll list a few places below. However, if this place is conveniently close by where you live, then I encourage you to take the extra time to visit these places: Jiro’s Japanese Restaurant, Shiki Sushi Sports bar, Niko Niko Sushi, and Kabuki Japanese Restaurant. Kabuki is in Ranch Cucamonga, and Niko Niko is in Redlands, but if you’re feeling adventurous then it’s worth the drive. Due note that Niko Niko is small inside, so it’s best to visit on a weekday, or early enough on the weekend. Though a reservation will suffice.

So I came here with my friends and I for one have to say this place sucks. When I asked if their food was vegan friendly she gave me a rude response. The sushi was so plain. She never asked how we we were throughout the whole 6 minutes that we were there. Then we asked for a little bowl for soy sauce and she brought us an actual bowl. Don’t come here trust

This place is hit or miss I come here because it’s close to my house but it’s never been great. The service is horrible the waiter literally looked at me and went to do something else in the back after I had been waiting for fifteen minutes and hadn’t even been offered to order a drink. Idk I feel like it has potential it’s just the staff just aren’t that great of people. The food is ok not like super fresh rich sushi. The salmon sometimes falls apart too easily which is a sign that’s it’s been frozen and thawed too many times. I have never gotten sick here though.

It’s been a while since I last ate here but I never had issues like many older reviews claim regarding service. Nor have I ever had issues with the food, whether it be taste or presentation, or even how I felt after eating here. I prefer Sushi Tomo to Rock and Roll Sushi up the street and I’m glad to say they can still hold their own. My friend and I ordered miso soup and two rolls off the menu for $ 10.95 apiece. The spicy Rainbow Roll is how I usually request it from other places and I appreciated the large number of rolls with spicy tuna inside instead of California filling. I found the Mexican Roll to be an excellent choice too. Nicely presented and well rolled, I felt full afterwards. Truthfully, I ate most of it ;) Service was great and cost effective for a light lunch. I’d definitely come back.

I’ve become quite a sushi connoisseur since my first visit to Sushi Tomo and I have got to say I am very disappointed in the fact that their raw selection isn’t fresh fish. I ordered the Rainbow roll so I had a variety of fish on my plate and I could visibly note the difference in color from the fish. I knew it was still edible so I ate it. I really do like their imitation crab that they use for the inside of the roll but maybe the next time I come I’ll stick to baked rolls.

One of the very best sushi in town. The service takes forever, but the food makes up for it. Fresh

This place has potential to be a great local sushi place& spot for happy hour! It’s too bad their management doesn’t care to fix some obvious problems that anyone can see. The sushi chef forced our servers(more than one visit) to bring our rolls as he finished them, but wouldn’t allow our server to wait until our whole table had food. This bad service has been going on for months & there is no real table ownership. It would be great if the poor servers weren’t constantly getting the blame for badly timed food service. The sushi chefs & kitchen need to get on it & ensure a table is being served at once, not so one person has finished all their rolls before others at the same table are served. I’ve left twice now from AYCE after ordering something and the kitchen can’t get it to us in under 45 minutes. This is not the servers fault but the owner needs to make major changes…

I went here since it first opened. The main chef was magnificent! However, they changed and the management hasn’t been the same anymore. The food is mediocre and the consistency fluctuates, so is the staff. Recently that I’ve been there, the staff was exceptionally friendly and sweet. Even though the owner /manager is constantly breathing down their neck. Contrary to before that, the staff was terrible, full of attitude, and provided a terribly hostile atmosphere. They act like they don’t even want to be there. Two stars, for the staff improvement and it’s a convenient place to go to since it’s by the school.

Fishy smell permeates, should have backed away slowly, but alas, the freeway Gods were against us. After spending an hour sitting in the parking lot that was the 215, we pulled off to wait out rush hour traffic and grab a bite to eat on our way to Vegas. We ordered Chicken Yakisoba, Miso Soup, Ono Sashimi, a Heart Attack Appetizer and a Spicy Scallop Roll. None of the above represented solid sushi/Japanese fare, but the scallop roll was by far the worst! Loose, messy and odd smelling. Now I’m praying I’m not sick for our weekend getaway!

I love to read reviews about this place as if they expected to eat at some fine dinning restaurant. Its a normal dive sushi bar in San Bernardino in a college area. Nothing fancy. These servers are very young, super nice and friendly and are just trying to work their way through college. Very nice humble PEOPLE. Their food is pretty decent for the price. Happy hour is super cheap! It’s clean. No one is rude. Food is cheap and good. Service IS on the bit of the slow side but nothing terrible. Sit at the sushi bar if you want someone to be there at your command.

Terrible excuse for a sushi restaurant. I’m honestly upset I wasted $ 27(AYCE price $ 25 + tax) here & I will never do so again. My friend & I came only because this was a sushi restaurant that was in between the both of us nearest Cal State. Service is horrible! The girls working here are polite enough but whoever is the manager or owner needs to tell them to step it up. I had to ask for a water refill(my cup was completely drained) & I didn’t want ice in my drink, but when they finally came around with my refill… lo and behold, it was filled with ice. The waitress I asked for a refill simply said, flatly, «Yeah.» and snatched it out of my hand. I wouldn’t have thought it was a big deal except that I had also stacked five of our EMPTY sushi plates & no one bothered to take them off of our table. They were sitting there our entire visit. And let me add that our first round took 20 damn minutes to come out. REALLY? I’ve been to waaaay better sushi places that are 10x busier than Sushi Tomo & have never ever waited that long for one roll. Ridiculous. Food– just as bad as the service. I’ll admit the only thing I liked was the spicy rainbow roll, but other than that the rest of the rolls were sub-par and DEFINITELY not worth the 27 $. ATALL. The actual sushi we ordered(salmon, ono, & tuna) were far from fresh. The worst part was there was soooo much rice, I got full after one round. One of our salmon was so thinly sliced it didn’t even cover the rice underneath it… what is this madness. Ono was too fishy, just like the salmon. I would review the tuna but they forgot to give it to us… including the AYCE paper for our second round. Miso soup was the worst I’ve ever had, extremely watery which should have been a warning sign… how good of a Japanese restaurant can you be if you can’t even make good miso soup? Ugh. My friend also ordered mixed tempura which was cold on arrival. How can you even do that… A bonus thing I noticed last night. A couple came in around 9:30 for AYCE but I guess since 9:30 is last call, they were denied it. This I understand but the way I heard the sushi chef/owner almost yell at the waitress, «NOMOREALLYOUCANEAT!» was just wow. How hard is it to just talk to people in a polite manner? You run a damn Japanese restaurant yet I didn’t see a single trait of the welcoming & warm Japanese hospitality/service that most places prioritize. Did I expect a 5 star restaurant in the midst of San Bernardino? Of course not. But this went above and beyond disappointing. Don’t come here, usually it’s the food OR the service that ruins a restaurant for me but both? Laughable, don’t waste your time & money. If you’re in the SB area just go to Miyagi’s, a hundred times better in every single way.
