Gus Jr. Restaurants

This is absolutely the worst Gus Jr I have ever been to. I LOVE Gus Jr. I frequent it a lot in Riverside. This particular place was awful. The buns were stale, the cheese was not melted. That tells me that the burgers were precooked. At the drive thru, the lady addressed me in Spanish. How rude. Come on no, I am latino and I only speak english. The majority speaks English. Why address people in spanish? You give our people a bad name. The place was also dirty and she forgot to give me my drink. I had to go back to get it. No apology was offered. I will NEVER come here again.

Way, way, way over priced. Their chicken salad harldy had any meat, and what was on the salad was very dry and tough to swallow. Also, the hot dog I ordered looked and felt as if it was microwaved and then grilled to give the appearance of being grilled. Two thumbs down!

We stopped in to eat for a show at NOS. This was the only place pretty empty. The staff was nice. The Pepsi that we got kind of smelled like cleaning products. and the food was ok, average.

Horrible! My rolled tacos were cold and hard, the chicken inside them felt as if i was chewing on a piece of plastic, the rice and beans had no taste what so ever. I asked the employee if she could bring out salsas which they were out at the salad bar. She said yes but never came out with the salsas I asked for. Never again will I come eat at this place. 0 stars!

Okay to start off food is bomb however in my opinion the quailty of the food is only one part of the resturant. Image is a major importance this resturant is old a d falling apart atleast outside. restrooms are tagged up and nasty and window are dirty and whats up with ketuchup bottles seem to my thier more than year old .not good for dates here just avoid this place if redtrooms are dirty only makes me wonder how kitchen is .last time im eating here.

Worse place EVER !!! The manager Henry is unprofessional, doesn’t give a crap if your food is nasty! Worthless ! Waist of money and time to go here. They are a shady nasty place!!!

Ok, so I have been holding off on doing a review for them for a long time now. But I’ve had a few to many not so great experiences from them. From spoiled milk in our Oatmeal to getting our order just completely wrong. Their food is good, but I have found myself avoiding this place all together for a while now. I loved them for their salads, specifically the Gus Jr Salad, but the quality is just not the same. I work at a shop down the street so this place was one of our go to places. Today we decided to give it another go, and well they got my order wrong even though they repeated it back to me and then handed me a completely different salad, then tried to sell me on that salad. I simply said thank you, but no thanks I don’t like that salad I want the one I ordered, so she went back to «fix» my salad, but yeah this is still not the salad I ordered. In retrospect I guess I should have stopped going since the spoiled milk in my oatmeal, but we wanted to give it another shot. And it’s safe to say I will no longer be returning.

The food is just OK in my opinion. The last few trips I made to Gus Jr the food wasn’t tasteful and was under cooked. I find myself needing to add extra condiments in order to spice up the taste to my food. I also noticed they have increased the prices in the past year.
On the plus side they do give large portions and the staff is friendly.

So without trying to sound too repetitious, suffice it to say I’m a huge Chili Cheese Fries and Bacon Avocado Burger fan (combining the two makes the the ultimate greasy, fatty and caloric meal I can think of that you can eat a typical fast food joint).
Anyway, I ordered the CCF and Bacon Avocado Burger at Gus Jr.‘s for lunch. First off, there was nobody in the drive-​thru but me, and it took over 10 minutes for me to get my order. I looked on the positive side; thinking that at least my food would be hot and fresh.
The fries were soggy (now, you’d think that would be expected with CCF but, you’d be wrong. I’ve had plenty of CCF where you still get a nice, crisp CRUNCH of fries even though they’ve been completely buried in chili). There wasn’t much cheese on the fries either. As far as taste goes, this is a «meaty» type of chili (as opposed to spicy or «floury» type of chili). Overall, they were good, but nothing to rave about.
Ditto for the Bacon Avocado Burger. The cheese burger is dressed with onions, lettuce, tomato, 1,000 island spread and (obviously) bacon and avocado. Though the taste was fine, there was nothing about the burger that made me wanna write home (or on Unilocal!) about. The burger patty was so thin you could barely taste it in the burger.

Very large portions, YES !!! Especially the dinner plates! Love this restaurant!!! Good food !! I always stop by here whenever I’m in San Bernardino.

They got rid of the chicken wing dinner. this was one of the main reasons my family went there and now… There really is nothing that sets them apart from all the other burger joints. What a shame.

Horrible service, waited in the drive thru for more then 10 min and then was told I couldn’t have but 1 ketchup packet for my breakfast platter because apparently my meal didn’t come with it. Being that I ordered ham eggs and got more than ¾ the box of hash browns. Won’t be going back they charge extra for everything.

My husband and I have a habit of eating breakfast for dinner. Enique ‚(favorite short order cook) who is a hardworking worker and fast in producing the orders. We always love our breakfasts, combo plates made from him. One gets generous portions in the combo plates. We love the pastami combo, with a choice of salad or soup. The staff is friendly in their manner. I love the numerous choices of different foods.

The food is great but not the cleanest. We sat down to eat our breakfast and on the window sill there was a dead fly. Also the napkin holder was dusty and dirty, so was the salt and pepper shaker. If you can overlook that then you’ll enjoy your meal.

Slow!!! Wait 35 mins for food :-(Will not be back. When we did get our food it was cold and they made it to go and it should have been for dine in, really!

Wish there was a negative star option. First time I went they forgot the hamburger meat on the hamburger. Wth. Went back again to give them one mire try. Corn dog was burnt beyond recognition. Horrible cooks.

WARNING: Monster portions here! Some of the best Onion Rings and Zucchini sticks can be found at this tiny stand, near San Berdoo airport.
I have a huge appetite… but has yet to finish a meal without bringing home a take-​out box! Greek ownership is the sole reason why this place serves ginormous portions. Try their salads… mmmmm!!!

Dear Gus Jr.,
First of all, give Gus Senior props for raising a kick-​ass son that created a kick-​ass variety food joint! Seriously, it’s so awesome for many reasons aside from being across the street from the National Orange Show in San Bernardino. It is THE best place to stop and use the restroom and eat some of the most universal food choices ever from you amazing $ 1.00 burger which is the size of a freakin whopper:

They even have a great salsa bar that reminds me of Taco Sinaloa and King Taco:
I was so impressed by their burger that me and my girlfriend ended up getting some more food that same day! I ended up getting the big fish plate combo meal that came with 2 BIG pieces of fried fish, fries, sour dough butter bread and a choice of salad or soup:
look at their 2 big pieces of fish that was around the size of my freakin hand…
I ended up choosing their really really great chicken vegetable soup that buts Soup Plantation’s soup to shame because they literally put in big chucks of veggies along with a big pieces of chicken on their bowl:
My girlfriend ended up getting a $ 1 burger and their big, thick and tasty onion rings:
I was VERY happy to find out that this place has my favorite peach green tea as a part of their fountain drink choices:
AND… I was amazed that they also have something that really sets them apart from your regular diners… they have a freakin ICE CREAM SECTION that reminds me of Rite Aid’s set up:
Man…they have everything from seafood to hamburgers and even dessert. If you went inside, you will be surprised at how nice it looks filled with so many great seating/​eating areas inside and outside of this place! CHECK OUT MY PICTURES!
It’s safe to say that Gus Jr. really knows how to conquer his customer’s many types of hunger, so watch out Louis Burgers, Fanstastic’s, Ted’s etc!!!
