Buffet not really a restaurant. The food was okay but not stellar. Go early before 1200 if you go. The service was friendly.

Food review… Food was ok. It wasn’t amazing like my mother’s cooking, but it satisfied my craving for adobong pusit and Kare kare(although the two bones that was in the kare kare was majority fat and non-edible meat, I was also dissapointed that it didn’t contain eggplant:/) anyway, I’ll opt to make that at home next time. Halo halo was also not good. Didn’t have the sweet factor, wondering how that could’ve been messed up :( Service. could’ve been wayyyy better. Our food came out in spurts and not together. The main dish came out and I didn’t have rice or silverware. I waited and waited, and had to ask. My daughters food finally came when we were all done eating and she was the hungriest(not a word, but it described her hunger pains). Overall, not a fan and probably won’t ever go back. maybe if you order ahead? Still not sure I’ll visit here again.

Who would’ve guessed that Kamayan existed in San Antonio! Wootz offers some pretty good Filipino food so don’t let the name mislead you(I heard this location used to be an arcade or something). I brought a bunch of friends here to experience eating Filipino food the way it should be eaten… with your hands! The food was delicious and the servings were more than generous. I really enjoyed the fried fish and lechon kawali. Making reservations for the Kamayan was very easy. I had to update my reservation a couple of times and the lady I spoke with was very friendly. We also got Halo Halo to share. Honestly it was OK. The only good part was the Ube Ice Cream. They should just serve that alone for dessert. Mmm purple crack. Kamayan is definitely a great way to introduce friends to Filipino food! If they’re not adventurous enough to use their hands, silverware can be requested: D

One of the best authentic Filipino restaurants in San Antonio, fresh clean environment. Karaōke and buffet on the weekends things are always going on. Dont let the empty restaurant fool you, the food is the best some of my favorite dishes to order are the lechon kawali(call ahead bc they are always sold out) dainlog with eggs and garlic rice, sisig, and many more dishes. I really recommend people checking out the place, and even if you aren’t too familiar with Filipino food, they have buffets on Saturday and Sunday!

Finally tried this place out the other day. I was very underwhelmed. Lunch first came with a soup that had lovely tender noodles in it, but the broth was of no note. The entrée was lumpia and chicken pancit. The lumpia came with a very tasty dipping sauce which I quite approved of. The pancit itself had lovely presentation, with tiny little mandarins arranged artfully on top of it, but the flavor was bland. I wouldn’t say it was horrible; I have definitely had worse. However, if the craving for good Filipino food strikes, next time I’ll put in the effort to drive a little farther to Lily’s where I can feel that my dollar is better spent.

I love Filipino food and get take out from here when the craving hits. Last time I tried to call in an order their phone went to voicemail. I don’t think I’d ever eat there as the place is usually empty and there is always Filipino TV shows projected on the back wall. Odd. But the pancit and lumpia are the best I have had in San Antonio.(Plus I can order while waiting for my dogs to get finished grooming next door.)

I drive by here every day on the way to work and was excited to finally try it Friday night. I showed up at 645 and found that they were closing at 7:00! No warning just shutting down, which was annoying. As I walked away a waitress saw me getting into my car and explained that they karaōke at nine and needed to set up. I guess they make their money on karaōke? How else to explain shutting down during dinner hours on a Friday night???

Serious? I’m the first reviewer? Ok then… Wootz is just that type of restaurant where it’s like you’re lazy to cook and you come over to mom’s house to eat ulam(filipino for homemade dishes) and pay for it. Curious about their name«Wootz?» Well I don’t know how that originated but I know this. Before it became a Filipino restaurant, their signed said«Wootz Arcade Gaming Café.» Correct me if i’m wrong, it seemed that the previous business didn’t survive so the new owners felt it was cheaper just to keep the sign«Wootz» and change«Arcade gaming café» to «restaurant.» Just keep the sign so we don’t need to pay for a new one LOL. Ok bottom line, I’ve eaten here 3 times. 1st time, I ordered food to go which was lechon kawali and tocino. It was surprisingly decent! 2nd time was for their buffet. Man I was so disappointed! The pancit was so bland and no meat. Just noodles, cabbage, carrots and soy sauce. They had the tiniest lumpia eggrolls i’ve ever seen in my life! It was like a fat pencil lol. That was years ago. 3rd time was just 2 Sundays ago. I went here after church still in dress clothes. Surprisingly, it wasn’t top notch but the quality of the buffet improved! Lumpia was a little fatter, the pancit was much better and they had these really tasty chicken wings. And of course, your Pinoy basics such as: Chicken adobo, ginatang gulay, fish, sinigang, and even tocino. And the buffet came with sweet tea self serve! If you want better quality, order specific plates. As for buffet, like I said… it’s like mom’s cooking but it ain’t free! ;)
